There was not even a kettle to boil water for tea in that room. No water very small room

Comfortable hotel, nice sized bedroom. Decor generally good but a bit dated for those used to more modern rooms. Limited facilities in room (no tea, coffee or minibar). Can be a little noisy if facing the station/taxi rank if you are a person that needs silence to sleep - the double glazing is very good at reducing noise but could not be 100% effective.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is next to the central station and the Cologne Cathedral. It is also within walking distance to Ludwig Museum, the famous bridge with locks on the rail, and the old town center. The service of the staffs varied, depending on the time of the day. The lady who checked in us was really friendly and efficient, but when I asked about the heating in the room later on with a gentleman, he was not that helpful. The room we stayed was big, but there was a smell of smoking although it said this was a non-smoking room. It was cold that day and we could not figure out how to turn on the heating. Although I don't mind at all, the room key was an old, traditional metal key instead of the room card.

Ordinary hotel, clean room, good bed. Receptionists seemed uninterested. Noisy room cleaners in corridor, noisy area, many cars. Lukewarm water in shower. Very good location next to main station which is why I chose it and fair price. But 16,- euros on the internet and 18,- on site for breakfast(!) is a rip off! Go to a café instead!

Room and hotel OK. Clean tidy and a good breakfast. Room sound proofing ok. Once outside noise of traffic is constant. Area around the railway station extremely busy .

Tgis stay was perfect for traveling solo and wanting to take the train. I spent a day passing through. I was able to see some historic sites, enjoy the loca l cuisine, and take the train all within a short walk. The hotel offers breakfast and a fitness room. I was also able to leave my luggage for a short while before the train allowing me to wander a bit more in the city center. I had a single room.

The bathroom drain in the hotel room emits a bad odor; no air conditioning, Wi-Fi is very slow.

Good value for the money. Strategic location directly by the main station (it can be loud). Clean. Nice staff.

Nice hotel, good front desk staff. The area is problematic because of it's proximity to the train and bus stations. A lot of vagrants and homeless people. Was a little noisy at night. We could not hear the trains though, which was nice.

Usually when I stop in Cologne, passing through, I stay at the Ibis on the other side of the station (fully booked for once). Back when I was young & broke I even used the Station Backpackers Hostel. Kommerz Hotel is a decent option for similar purposes (and roughly 20 euro cheaper than Ibis). Friendly check in, old school room key (no magstrip cards) and bottled water in room. Downside is no air con, though a fan was supplied - I might have boiled alive otherwise! If you visit Cologne as a destination in it's own right then I would push the boat out & stay elsewhere. For one night though, it's fine.

It was an okay building with okay rooms, no ac tho so it was really hot so i was struggling sleeping a bit, but other than that it was okay

Location to train station and cathedral can't be beat. Both are just right out the door. But the temperature, oh my. So hot in the room. A fan was provided but little help. Rooms without a breeze need portable A/C. If it had been a room with a breeze then no A/C would have been ok. I haven't tried to sleep while sweating since I was a kid.

Very central. Nice and helpful staff. Rooms are modern but without air condition. Several hair were left in the bathroom and the prepared drinking cup was quite dirty. Still recommend this place.

The air conditioning did not work and to open your window was really noisy for sleeping. The lady at desk was not very friendly. She refused to give us an extra pillow because house keeping was gone home for the day. It was 5 pm I’m sure she could have got one

Room was very spacious and I was lucky enough to have air conditioning which I was later advised is only in 10 rooms. Very clean throughout and staff were really friendly. Hotel also next to station so easy access back to airport

The property was amazing, room was very nice and clean, amazing views and very central! only bad thing was the noise of the train station nearby.

Centrally located so a little noisy from the trains .room was immaculately clean on arrival though a little spartan, this hotel is perfect for a business trip and not quiet so good for a city break or in this case a football match Reception was very busy with only one staff member though they were very pleasant and efficient

Really great location for the train. Hotel room was good size and clean. WiFi speed was good. Only issue was the road noise and inconsiderate people talking loudly in the morning. Bed was comfy.

The room was ok but very basic. No facilities for making hot drinks and no fridge, so few reasons to stay in the room other than to sleep and shower. Great location next to the central train station in Cologne and good view of the cathedral from the window. Wifi worked well.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the main railway station, just a few minutes walk. Walk out of the station's other side and you're in the Altstadt... loads of places to eat and the fantastic cathedral. We stayed on a saturday night and the area was buzzing, people just out having a good time. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Due to its location next to the main railway station it wasnt particularly quiet and the local trains are very regular and efficient, but we expected that and aren't going to downgrade our comments! I'd definitely stay again!
