Had to go to Penrith and stop at the lounge for a very sad reason. The entire staff of the Lounge were the kindness and sympathetic that anyone could ask for. Nothing was to Much trouble and despite the reason we really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely stay here again

Bedroom quite small with only one bedside cabinet. However it felt clean and modern, with a nice bathroom. The food in the restaurant was way above average.

I would not expect to pay extra for breakfast at a B&B in this category, apart from that and a mattress sheet that would not stay on the mattress it was OK.

Great place to stay friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped.The restaurant served nice food . We were at an event locally and it was well situated.

I really wanted to stay nearer to Pooley Bridge but prices were way out of my budget so I booked this hotel.. My room which was a single was lovely and staff were friendly and very helpful. As I was on my own I didn’t feel confident in eating in the restaurant however the food looked amazing and there is the best chippy next door. I would stay here again .

Our stay was fantastic. All the staff were so helpful and welcoming. The bed was so comftarble. The breakfast was amazing well worth adding it as an extra.

It was a great experience with my family. Spacious room with comfy bed. I will highly recommend this location for a family trip. Nothing luxurious. Just simple and comfy!

The staff was very courteous and friendly. Breakfast was really lovely and the kids enjoyed it. would stay again if again going to be in the neighbourhood.

It was a disappointing stay. Room is cramped with a big toilet space which was nice. The glass provided still had food stuck which was disgusting. The whole space in and around the property reeks of stale oil and something rotten. I wasn’t informed that I had to book a table for dinner. When I went down for dinner, I was advised to order a takeaway from another place and eat in the room or eat at another restaurant. This was a big let down. The property was also very noisy at night and heard few other guests complaining. The breakfast was nothing to write about. Unless I am desperate, not a property I would go back to.

Well what can I say about this place other than it was amazing, staff are so very friendly and helpful, food is amazing especially the breakfast, room was very clean only thing missing for us was a fridge to keep drinks cold, restaurant was always clean and tidy.

Very friendly checking in. Room was nice and clean with a super king size bed. Bathroom very clean, the shower pressure could have been better but not a problem. Plenty of tea and milk. No noise from outside although it was a quiet Monday night.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. However, the screaming drunk youth in the streets outside the hotel could be heard into the early hours of the morning, which meant it was hard to sleep.

Excellent visit, room was nice, staff were pleasant and the breakfast was by far the best I have had in a long while. Great stay and we will be back.

I only stayed at Foundry 34 for one night but it was just what I needed for my trip. It is located near the main bus station in Penrith. Parking was off site and because I arrived after 5pm, only had to pay for 2 hours parking to cover me from 5-6pm & 8-9am the following day at a cost of £2! I booked a single room which was cosy but comfortable; could have done with being a bit warmer but I managed. There was a note on the air con/heater unit saying there will be a penalty for anyone who messes with the control panel, so I didn’t dare touch it. The bathroom was clean and shower gel provided. The room itself was up a couple of flights of stairs and at the front of the building. Secondary double glazing has been fitted to reduce noise from the street; I wasn’t disturbed at all. There are a few places to eat nearby but I chose to reserve a table in their restaurant. This was a good decision as the food was excellent, so much so, I overindulged and went to bed with a very full stomach. It was still full by morning so I only had room for a sausage sandwich (rather than the full English). Even the humble sarnie was amazing, with a Cumberland ring sausage encased in a lovely soft bun. I’d stay there again if I need to and would definitely go there for food. I’ve recommended it to friends who live in Penrith but hadn’t heard of Foundry 34.

We spent a night here as part of a longer break. The room was ok, however very loud noise in the bathroom which sounded like some sort of extractor from the chip shop downstairs. The noise went on until about 9pm. The room was not warm even after turning the radiator up. Also we were advised we can use the rear door to exit the hotel and when we did the smell at the door was repulsive. No idea what it was but not good. On a plus note the cooked breakfast was amazing.

The site is very nice and authentic, here are my mini gripes -drains were bad on the ground level /reception, smelly! -no gas for the beer pumps, only bottles available -finish on shower room / toilet furniture was only half completed, toilet roll holder fell off the holder, toilet seat was loose. The breakfast was the best thing about our stay.. lovely person ordering and serving the breakfast.
