The property and grounds looked very well maintained. Everywhere was clean and tidy. The staff were courteous. Food at the adjoining pub was tasty and hot, with plenty of options. This stay was ruined by the plumbing and/or air conditioning system which made extremely noisy sounds all through the night, rendering sleep impossible.

We checked in via reception at the pub and then were shown where to get into the Lodge at the back. All of the staff we spoke to were lovely: friendly and helpful. The first good feature was that the rooms are away from the pub, so no noise. Also, there is plenty of dedicated, free parking which is a real bonus when looking for somewhere to stay. The building is modern and the rooms are clean and orovide everything you might need. We were pleased to see that there was a bath: something of a luxury for most accommodation. I had a walk along the canal which is immediately adjacent to the hotel and provides an easy route into town on foot. We ate in the pub that evening and enjoyed our meals and it was easy to order online, so no standing and waiting at the bar. It is not an easy place to find: ignore the SAT NAV and Google maps because neither will guide you there from the town centre. In future, I would definitely approach directly from the A57.

Advertised next to lake and find it’s at a truck stop. Advertised food available but only McDonald’s or service station food. Is u are in a hurry to get from A to B and need somewhere to stay. It’s just adequate. Room falling apart. Public area carpets dirty.

Good clean room. We thought that being a pub it may be noisy, the pub was very noisy but the food area was nice and quiet and the rooms being away for the pub, it was pleasant stay.

Clean fresh room. Modern and tidy with mains outlets and usb plugs next to both sides of bed. Good lighting over mirror for getting ready. Helpful staff when we had trouble with our booking.

Very good hotel. Good rooms, good service, clean and bright. Breakfast good with one comment. No matter which button you pressed on the coffee machine you got black coffee.

There was one issue - the internet! This may be a local issue but it did mean I couldn’t contact family nor work

This was our third visit and we shall return later in the year. Food very good,the service and staff are excellent.

The room was both comfortable and clean, however I did request a ground floor room (which was given) but I did request to be away from the door entrance to the rooms and found that a lot of guests DO NOT care about letting the entrance door bang (constantly) our room was right next to this door, so my first night was disturbed. I then invested in some ear plugs (that did help)
