Breakfast was fantastic!

Leak in shower and bath

We loved the house,grounds and location

room was nice and big and big shower room plenty of space and could sit outside with a coffee in the morning which was nice

could do with lighting at night along partway as you have to go across the road to check in and out and for breakfast as the place has no staff

Nearly didn't book this hotel due to it's bad reviews. But seen that on google maps the reviews were a lot better we gave it a try. We were really happy with our room in one of the outhouses on the back. The staff was really friendly. The hot water in our room didn't work but when we asked at the reseption if the could sort this, they tried to fix it but couldn't get a plumber out in time so we got a 50% refund on our stay witch was really fair.

The room decor was pleasant but not the sized room we had booked.

Our booking was changed due to an error on Booking.com. We were told we would be given a similar sized room but it was a definite downgrade for the same peice and the smell of sewers was overpowering. Dining staff were clearly under pressure. Staff at reception could have gone out of their way to be more accommodating but seemed more interested in covering themselves over their booking error. My husband was told he could have early access to breakfast which we had paid for but there was no one to open the door for him when he got there. The day after we left I phoned reception to ask them to hold my phone charger which I had left behind. There was no suggestion to post it out until I made it. After ten days I travelled out to collect it myself to be told at reception what bad luck, they had just been about to post it that day. Over priced and in need of good management and hospitality training.

The bedroom was fine

Could not get breakfast in bed....this was not flagged on the website when booking....and when went across to ask for some breakfast at 10.45...was told it was shut at 10.30...but website when booking said 11....when asked if we could get anything the lady was very rude and would not help us at all.....we then went to reception to see if they could help....but same story...very unhelpful ....for that price I would expect much more ...would not stay again
