We had a very pleasant stay at Robertas place. The house and its surroundings are very peaceful and quiet and still you are close to everything you need or want to explore. The pool area is awesome and the house itself offers lots of space with a really great equipped kitchen.

What a great stay at this beautiful tuscan farm villa. Roberta was a wonderful host. More than enough room for the 4 of us, kitchen was beautiful and well-stocked, and the pool was wonderfully refreshing after a day of sightseeing. It is only 2 miles from the walls of Lucca so great location for exploring all of Tuscany. Thank you Roberta!

Grazie Roberta! We had a wonderful holiday in your gorgeous villa. Such a beautiful , tranquil spot within easy reach of Pisa and Florence. We particularly loved the pool with fireflies, nomadic goats passing by, sunsets over the mountains and of course, the leaning tower of Pisa!

The villa was clean, equipped and beautiful, the pool was cleaned every morning before we woke up, and Roberta is very nice and available for everything whether you need something for the villa or just information for what to do around Lucca. Overall 10/10

Wonderful well equipped comfortable home. Very helpful owner. Beautiful setting. Only negatives were lack of clothes dryer and spotty wifi. Would stay again!

We have just returned from a fabulous week at this gorgeous house. The grounds are stunning and the pool is huge. We were blessed with hot weather so the pool was perfect to cool down in. Our 2 families of 4 found the 4 bedrooms (1 en-suite) and large family kitchen had everything we needed to give us a very relaxing week. We ate at home most nights using the outdoor bbq to cook up a feast. The kitchen had every pan imaginable to help with our pasta evening also. The fantastic hosts Roberta and her husband live next door but were so discreet that you wouldn’t notice they were there. They were on hand to keep the pool clean, bins replaced and for plenty of local advice and to assist with taxis etc. You would definitely want to hire a car to stay here, the supermarket is only an 8 minute drive and it’s just 10 mins to drive to the local town of Lucca. We had a wonderful lunch and evening meal out in the main square and found prices to be very reasonable. I would highly recommend this property and will look back with very fond memories of our week in Tuscany. Thanks so much to Roberta for her great hospitality.

We (five adults, two children) really enjoyed our stay at this beautifully renovated house. We particularly liked the very well-equipped, large kitchen as well as the beautiful garden with a private pool. We made trips to Lucca, Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano and Volterra - the beaches of Viareggio are only 25 min away. The owners who live next door are very friendly, helpful and totally respect the privacy of their guests.

We stayed here as 5 adults last month and loved the place. The farmhouse has clearly been restored with a lot of care and attention. It isnt within walking distance of anywhere but Lucca is a mere 10 minute drive away and is equally as stunning. The area is so quiet , private and peaceful and you never see the the owners unless you need them. They offer you a covered porch for the car which is a great asset. There are loads of kitchen equipment and all modern appliances for convenience, we ate in quite a lot so this was great. The only thing we were surprised about was that the house is completely open-plan with the exemption of the bathrooms. The bedrooms did have curtains between them but the upper mezzanine level had a feature wall with holes in that over looked the master bedroom. As 5 adults it did take a little to get used to but didnt take away the enjoyment of the place as it was so beautiful. I would definitely recommend this house and its owners to anyone wanting to experience the real Italy.

We had 8 people in our party and the house was perfect for us. Everyone had a bed and the living room and kitchen were huge. Two full bathrooms as well. It is an converted farmhouse but everything on the inside is very modern and looked brand new. It was very clean on the inside and outside with all the comforts of home. The price was very reasonable and the location was fantastic, in picture perfect tuscany with mountains in the background, yet only minutes from the walled city of Lucca. Lucca is a great base for Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre, and the tuscan region in general. The property has a large yard, beautiful garden, and a very big swimming pool, which we used many times during our stay. The owners (Roberta and her husband) are very friendly and answered all of our many questions before and during our visit. They also live next door and are always around in case you need them, but they never infringe on your privacy. There is also very good WiFi in case you need the internet. We highly recommend IL Mandolato and hope to return to it for another vacation some day.

Tres belle maison ancienne, rénovée avec beaucoup de gout, et surtout beaucoup d'espace. Tres bien situee a cote de Lucques (Lucca), ville magnifique et decontractee, de Pise, et de la mer. Acces facile a l'autoroute pour Florence. La proprietaire et son mari sont super sympathiques tout en etant discrets. Deux semaines plus qu'agreables!
