We arrived a day late (Wed. at 9pm) due to travel arrangements. When we arrived the house was 77 and muggy. Air was turned to 64 and they had stand fans running in the bedrooms, so it was a known issue. I emailed immediately. No response for 21 hours. Called VRBO. They got owner on the phone and accidentally added me in the call. I heard the owner say that they only had one hvac tech and he couldn't make it until Tuesday. They also said it would be very expensive to try to get someone out due to US Open (reason I was there). She told them that they responded, but only to my second email that I sent at noon the next day. I also informed them of dirt and hair on the couch covers. My gf refused to sit on the furniture. The ice maker was full of an ice block, as if the electric went off and melted it but nobody checked it. The garage smelled like wet dog. The upstairs (master bath) does not have a single electrical outlet in it. That room had to be over 80 degrees being upstairs. I asked for a refund and was told they would check with the management and get back to me. I have heard nothing. I sent another set of emails tonight. BTW, this was not a cheap rental the week of the US Open. I should have known better because communication prior was also poor.

If walking downtown and enjoying all that the main street of Southern Pines has to offer offer, this house is perfect. The interior of the house is very clean and simply decorated. The beds were decent, but nothing spectacular. We managed to cook Thanksgiving dinner with the utensils and pans provided. The main negative was the neglected outdoor spaces. The outdoor and patio furniture was filthy and the patio was covered in leaves and debris. It seems as if the cleaning company doesn’t touch the outdoor area or windows, as the screens are dirty and covered in cobwebs. Thankfully we were quite comfy inside and enjoyed our stay overall. The check in and out process was simple. It’s a good place for the rental price.

The location is quiet, close to town, and very well equipped. We had some connectivity issues with the host, but with VRBO’s help, we made contact and the host was very helpful and responsive.

We enjoyed walking to local shops, breweries, and restaurants. The property was very clean. We had a fun time playing darts in the game room in what used to be the garage. We wished there was more airflow and a mirror near the outlets in the bedroom with the attached bath.

Location of the property is perfect for walking to downtown Southern Pines shops, restaurants, breweries, and bars. The house itself is older, with a unique layout, but is well kept, clean, and has a nicely appointed kitchen. The garage serves as a hangout area with poker tables/chips, darts, putting mat. The top floor shower is recently updated. The back yard could use some TLC as the furniture is a bit dirty and leaves are everywhere. Propane fire pit was nice to sit by. We enjoyed our stay.
