My husband and I spent a week in Gotha in November to visit family. Bettina was easy to work with, communication prior to arrival was clear, and she was present if there should be any issues (there weren't). I still can't believe we stayed in a beautiful little castle from the early 18th century. When you drive through the gate to the property it's like stepping back in time. The garden is beautiful and I wish I could see it in full bloom. For non-German renters, it would be helpful to know where to put recycling. Check out procedures weren't written down so we hope we did everything correctly. The location is perfect for those who want to visit Erfurt. (19 minutes to the Domplatz parking garage.) There was construction on the B7 which made travel around town a little complicated. But when isn't there some type of construction with Umleitung???

Highly recommended if you are staying in Gotha. So clean ,roomy and beautiful! The photos are wonderful but the apartment is much better in person than the pictures. Bettina is an amazing host and is fantastic to work with. Your stay will be unforgettable.

We stayed at the apartment for three nights over the New Year's break. Our group was a family with a toddler and a baby, plus an extended family member who slept on the comfortable sofa in the living room. Key pointers. This property is a really good value. I can't believe that the owners are not charging more for it. The kitchen is well equipped for most cooking requirements unless you are doing something super fancy. Master bedroom bed is very comfortable and large enough to accommodate two adults and two small children. The living room is quite spacious to allow people to enjoy different activities within the same space. Heating for the winter months is really great... especially the bathroom that has in-floor heating. The owner communicated with us in German via the VRBO website, but speaks quite good English. Other than that, Gotha is actually a very scenic town that is worth exploring for a few days. The only potential problem that some less abled people might encounter is the steep staircase to the first floor apartment if they have large luggage to carry... we had several large suitcases weighing about 25kg each and it wasn't a problem for us. Overall... we have rented more than 20 times from Airbnb and VRBO and this is one of the best properties that we have come across. We will definitely try to return.
