Lovely location on the corner of the canals; very peaceful. Unfortunately, cleanliness was serious lacking at this house. The floors were filthy when we arrived; no linens on any of the upstairs beds and none to be found in linen closets; one mattress had stains and our bedroom carpet had multiple stains too. Vacasa Management was non-responsive the night we arrived-we had to go to Vacasa’s laundry center ourselves to fetch linens and put all bedsheets on ourselves at 10:30 pm while tired and cranky children waited. Beware all bathrooms are very small w/ no vanity sink space. Vacuum cleaner was not existent despite manual stating it was available; the cable box equipment was outdated so we could not sign in to use streaming services. Kitchen layout not conducive for more than one person prepping food and only one outlet available bc 2nd was blocked by refrigerator. Filtered water/ice maker on refrigerator was broken. The house needs a major deep clean and a renovation. Kayak and 2 paddle boards was nice to use in the mornings. But one of the broken paddleboard oars wasn’t replaced, even though they promised to send a new one by mid-week.

Great location and space for our large family gathering! The home needs a few minor repairs, but served our needs well.

Booked this home for 1 week to surprise wife for 60th B-Day by having kids/grandkids there w/out her knowing. All I told her was going to Bethany. When we arrived, kids/grandkids ran out to surprise her. A few of the kids picked up keys to get in early to decorate before our arrival. They found house not cleaned properly. Fingerprints on sliders/doors/chewed tobacco pouches on bdrm floor/dried sauce on kitchen wall/used soap left in showers/dirty floors/filthy shower doors/dirty white cabinets. They had to clean before decorating & setting up house. First evening found ants in kitchen & in custom Birthday Cake. Dealt w/ ants all week. It is obvious Vacasa (property mgr) does not f/up on their cleaning crews or their properties. Property mgr. said up to cleaning co. to inform them if broken items or deep cleaning needed. There are broken items. The big/beautiful sunroom is advertised as Four Season Room. There is no air or heat. Very hot in summer. This review is no negativity to owners as they obviously r not aware of condition of their home. This was my 1st time using VRBO & at time did not know who Vacasa was. Since I booked thru VRBO (not knowing @ the time this property is managed by Vacasa)& that Vacasa advertises their listings on VRBO, I was charged a booking fee by VRBO & then a booking fee by Vacasa. I think that is dirty & sneaky business. Vacasa did credit me for cleaning fee but took all week dealing with them, I'd love to stay here again if clean.

This home is located in a lovely neighborhood. However, this home’s interior is poorly maintained. The house deep professional cleaning. We made the best of our stay after we scrubbed the bathroom showers and wiped down the kitchen with disinfectant wipes. There were ants in the kitchen.

When I rented this property through VRBO, I ended up dealing with Vacasa. So when Vacasa sent a request for a review of our stay, I gave them a very thorough review. Now VRBO is asking for another review. I contacted VRBO to ask why. The very nice chat assistant said I’m only being asked for a review of the booking process (although that is not what “tell us about your stay” implies). The booking process was fine. I do recall that there was some confusion on my part about whether I’d successfully completed the booking — probably due to this relationship between VRBO and Vacasa that I do not understand. I remember I had to call someone on the phone to confirm that I’d got the place. It made me a little anxious. Please see my review of the property itself (which we loved — we had a truly wonderful family vacation and the house was almost perfect) at Vacasa. My review included a private note to the owners, with a strong suggestion that the gorgeous dining room (which was invaluable for our family dinners) be outfitted with a mini-split, because it would have been outrageously hot out there if we hadn’t had such mild weather that week. We enjoyed our time in Bethany….. Ended up booking an extra night (so 5 nights and 6 day) and the extra one was more expensive only downfall….. kids loved the kayak and paddle boards….
