The lodge location was excellent as it was so close to the pebble beach and sea, you just had to look out of the patio windows or step onto the veranda to be transported to a beautiful place. This made our stay a great pleasure indeed. We had a few short walks onto the beach, which was very refreshing. The lodge layout worked great, the ensuite bathroom is a great plus off of the main bedroom with its walk in shower, quite roomy too which we did not expect, we also had ample wardrobe space, two side drawer units and a dresser not forgetting the double bed. The second bedroom had two single beds, wardrobe, dresser and a drawer unit. The main bathroom again good size and includes bath with overhead shower. The kitchen was well equipped and a pleasure to use, Including dishwasher, double oven, microwave, fridge freezer and washer dryer etc. The living space was a great size too including a sofa bed, two armchairs, coffee table, side table and dining table area. There is a tv on the wall above the fire. Facilities around the complex cover a great variety of entertainment for your children.

On arrival we found there was very little communication with any staff in person, all communication was done through booking.com messenger. When we entered the lodge and opened the blinds to take in the expected view, we were met with dirty windows with cobwebs and family's of spiders on them. I had to clean them. The veranda glass was green in places it hadn' t been cleaned for a very long time by the looks of it. There was trim hanging off the edging too. I had to clean it. The light bulbs in the beautiful hanging lights in the kitchen had half inch of dust on. There was no hoover and after our request, was delivered later than stated. No ironing board No toilet brushes which after requested were delivered late No bathroom toiletries delivered until day before leaving. Towels provided were new. Unlaundered. So after our shower we ended up looking like blue yeti's as half the fabric from them stuck to us. (Navy blue too haha) When your fee for the lodge includes the cleaning charges and When you pay so much for a place with a beautiful beach front sea view. You at least want to be able to take in the view through the glass of the property, and also not have to start cleaning immediately so you can relax and appreciate everything. There's no excuse for the inside of the windows to not be clean I know the sea throws off salt regarding outside but still,Once I cleaned them they looked great all week?.
