Perfect vacation to relax, have fun and walk wherever we need to go during our week stay. Private path to the beach, mini market with most of what you need, private pool and check in that was as easy as it gets with an attentive owner/manager that checks in to make sure all is good. One of if not the closest beach properties. Walking path to the beach, monkeys love the trees all around the house. Pool isn't in viewing distance from the house, but there is covered seating to hang out and watch the kids swim.

Casa Libelula is a stunning home just a short walk to beautiful beaches as well as shopping and restaurants. Tom is a wonderful host - he was informative and there if you needed anything. The home had many added thoughtful touches. During the day we took long walks along the beach, swam in the warm ocean, or walked nearby nature trails. Each evening we walked to see the beautiful sunsets and enjoy local food. At night we were greeted by the sounds of the Howler Monkeys and other "jungle" noises. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Libelula. Thank you - Tom.... Pura Vida

House is very private and close to town and a short walk from good restaurants. Check out Argentinian Grill, Luv Burger, Burgers and Beers as well as the Soda that are 3 min.s away. A bit further for La Luna, Al Chile, El.Chivo. Mini Mart close by for breakfast fixings. Beach is 5 min.s walk, and has great waves for starting surfers. Tom is friendly, gives great advice on request, and is responsive to any needs around house. Overall great eperience!

4th time VRBOing in Nosara and this was the best house by far. The roomy house, the location, the pool, the landscaping and the private jungle path to the beach made it all memorable. Tom is a great host, helpful and attentive to details

Our family spent 12 fantastic nights at Casa Libelula over the Christmas holidays. The home slept 8 adults comfortably, the location cannot be beat and Tom is a gracious and accommodating host. The photos do not do the property justice. The beach, trails through the jungle, coffee shops, great restaurants, bars, stores and surf shops are all within a short walk. We spent hours sitting around the beautiful pool being entertained by howler monkeys. Playa Guiones is a chill and family-oriented little slice of paradise. We loved the people, the food, the nature and the atmosphere and nothing beats a sunset surf with your family. If you want an authentic Costa Rican surf holiday or just want to relax and unplug surrounded by nature, this is the place. We will be back.

An amazing location! A wonderful house surrounded by a beautiful jungle setting complete with Howlers, coati, butterflies, all kinds of birds, lizards, to name a few. And all of this within easy walking distance to an awesome surf break. There is a surf club next door where you can rent boards and switch them out whenever you want. Within walking distance are multiple restaurants and a small grocery store that is great for items you may have forgotten at the big grocery which is about a ten minute drive from the house. We all had a great stay and I would definitely return in a heartbeat!

We just returned from an amazing week at Tom's house. We had never been to Costa Rica before and wanted something a little different for our family vacation. Tom was very responsive to my questions and even connected us to a great guide who took us horseback riding on the beach twice! The house is very spacious, all bedrooms have A/C so you can cool off if needed. House felt secure and has a good space for locking up valuables. Also had security guard who patrolled periodically at night. The security part took some getting used to but it's the norm for the area. Wifi worked really well. We had breakfast at the house but ate out the rest of the time. Kitchen had everything you need for cooking, we just didn't feel like it! Monkeys visited property every day. Pool was fine for cooling off though we mostly swam at the beach. The location is perfect for going back and forth to the beach - you can get to the beach via a short trail through the jungle in about 2 minutes. Multiple excellent restaurants and mini-market literally right out the door. We ended up renting a golf cart to go slightly farther afield with the kids (to the other side of Nosara basically). That was really fun. Nosara is a very special place that we will visit again one day!

Pictures do not do this home and property justice! Beautiful, clean, and comfortable. This custom built home compliments surrounding natural beauty of the land. The location is a mix of both jungle and beach with the ease of many nearby great restaurants, shops, and rental companies. All within walking distance. Tom the owner was such a gracious and generous host. Our family has used vacation home rentals for many many years and we have never experienced a host who was so generous with his time. He went above and beyond helping to make our stay fantastic. Many thanks Tom!

Absolutely beautiful home with everything we needed. Excellent location to beach, restaurants, and yoga. Using the private pool at the end of the day was the perfect way to relax. Tom helped us set up local surfing and fishing excursions. He was a great host!

This was our family’s second visit to Playa Guiones and second stay at Tom’s house. We absolutely love the house, the pool and the location. We had 4 adults and 5 teenage children, and we had plenty of room to relax. There is a great jungle path from the house to the beach that takes about 3 minutes to walk. Additionally, there are numerous cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Tom is a great host and was available for all of our needs.

The house is fantastic, with everything you need. The pool and grounds are beautiful, and it's a three minute walk to the beach on a private trail. The house is right in the centre of the action, with restaurants and shops just steps away, but it still feels private and secluded, and we were never bothered by noise. Tom is an amazing host and made everything easy. Highly recommended.

Our family of six had a wonderful stay here. Perfect location, well-appointed house, very helpful host. We especially enjoyed the pool, beautiful landscaping, and the close walk to the beach.

Couldn’t be more convenient. Walk to the beach, walk to yoga class, walk to 8 different restaurants within 100 yds of the house. Urban living in the jungle! Tom was great and solved any issues ASAP. Can’t wait to visit again.

I stayed at this home with my 3 mid-20s sons and one friend of theirs, for a week in mid-July of 2018. Our objective was to surf, relax, and explore a bit of the area. This house served us very well. But even more importantly, Tom (the host) was amazing. He helped arrange transportation to and from Playa Guiones, gave good advice on where to (1) rent surfboards, (2) get lessons, (3) get meals, and anything else I could think of. He even took us to the grocery store and ATM in Nosara when he went. Tom's attitude was excellent, and he lives next door so is usually available. In sum, the house was well-suited for our needs and Tom was the perfect host. I have stayed at a number of VRBO and Airbnb homes, and Tom is by far the best host I have ever met. The house has plenty of room with a full kitchen (with pans, dishes, and silverware), washer and dryer, and lots of tables and chairs. There are 4 bedrooms (one with 2 beds) and an extra bed in an upstairs area away from everything else. There is air-conditioning in each bedroom,but not the entire house. We used it when we went to bed. There are 2 bathrooms, both with showers, and there are also showers outside that you can use if coming from the beach. The location is great, toward the north end of the beach about a 200-yard walk to the water (note that houses cannot be built on the beach here, so this is about as close as they get). There are at least 3 restaurants within 100 yards of the house, and more close by. The crowds seemed a little smaller on our (the north)end of the beach, and the waves were at least as good ass those further south. In addition to surfing, we did the zipline (better than others I have been on), the escape room (comparable to those in SF and importantly - air conditioned!), and walked around the nearby area. We did not rent any transportation, and did not feel that we needed it. It rained twice, both times for a few hours in the late afternoon (with plenty of lightening and thunder). The temperature was warm and humid, but not overwhelming. We did get bitten by mosquitoes a little, but once we started using either Avon Skin So Soft (pretty effective) or 30% Deet (100% effective) we were okay. Overall our visit was everything I hoped for and I hope that we will be able to do it again.

Our children were thrilled to have the upstairs to themselves, its walking distance to everything, we didnt have to drive anywhere. The pool and beach access were a big hit for all. And of course, seeing howler monkeys, iguanas, and a coati right on the grounds was a big hit.

We could not be happier with our stay in this perfect home! We are a family with a 10 year old and 13 year old - and this home literally had something for everyone. We all loved the easy beach access (with birds, lizards, and crabs along the way!), the great pool, the fantastic food options (both upscale and quick and easy access - for example to a pizza stand right across the street), shopping (for the 13-year-old), monkeys (for the 10-year-old), and a washer/dryer (for me, the mom - we were a week into our trip by then!). There were a lot of sleeping options (each with A/C - not something we had everywhere on our trip), and the beds were very comfortable (my husband, nursing a cold, liked those highlights the best). Thanks to Tom we felt cared for and looked after - he was wonderful, considerate, and so knowledgeable about the area. There's a mini-market really close by, so we could also stock up on breakfast options so we could lounge, beach and swim in the morning without having to get everyone going to a restaurant first thing. As I said - a perfect home to stay in and experience all the awesomeness of this amazing beach and beach town! We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks again, Tom!

The location of this house is prime for anyone seeking to stay in Guiones for surfing. Tom, the owner, is a perfect host so he makes it truly easy to book shuttles, golf carts, excursions, bike's , etc. and he's there for any other questions about your stay. Everyone in town knows Tom. He's known for his friendly, kind disposition. Perks are: The pool and hammocks are a godsend if you're staying during hotter months. The jungle walk and surrounding trees are teeming with life to observe! KILLER food within 50 feet at Jorge's or Ten Pies or Burgers and Brew or Guilded Iguana (a few of MANY to walk to!) Location is PRIME for surf, food, shopping, sipping, and accessibility to the little market. My recommendation would be to rent a car even though you can access most nearby places by foot or golf cart, just because of the dry , bumpy road conditions. All locals ride using bandanas covering their mouths because of the dust if they are not in a car. It gets to be too much if you're planning to explore, so renting a car is preferred so as to be able to roll up the windows and block out dust. Also, book deep sea fishing with Howard through Tom. My husband caught a 70lb Wahoo this week and four Mahi Mahi -- 100lbs worth of fish! It was epic! Thanks Howard! My husband and middle son still haven't stopped grinning. Playa Guiones is a laid-back surfer's dream town. Endless Summer feel. This house is truly a fabulous place to stay to experience all that the area offers. Cant wait for next time! We had an absolute blast at Tom's place in Nosara -- it was everything we hoped for. The house itself is excellent, was well stocked and was plenty of space for our family of six (four kids). The location of the house is fantastic. It was about a 5 minute walk to the beach through a nice jungle path and walking to town was even easier -- just 30 seconds from several good restaurants, the mini mart for food basics and other retail options. We had a car while we are there, but we barely used it in the 5 days we were there. If you are in to surfing, this place is a gem, and Tom is the ultimate surf host. We surfed twice a day and Tom has some boards that he rents out as well to spare you the hassle of renting them in town (though there are lots of easy options for board rentals in town, including Juan Surfo's which is nearly across the street with a lot of board options and no car required to get it back to the house. The pool area is goregous and lots of fun. The pool isn't particularly large, but it was big enough for all of us to play around in it at the same time and have a good time. There are some hammocks and swing chairs get up in a shaded area around the pool which is great as well. The plant life all around the property is lush, colorful and beautiful to look upon from the pool area, the porch or upper levels of the house. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we had the good fortune to go to Nosara again and Tom was extremely responsive throughout the entire process -- both while we were booking the place and more so while we were there. Tom even arranged to have horses brought to the house one day and we went for a beach ride. He was extremely generous with his time and interest in making sure that we had a great stay. We strongly recommend this house!

We just stayed at Casa Libelula for our sons wedding. It was perfect. Tom could not have been a more gracious host and a great time was had by all. The house is lovely and the surrounding gardens are a sight to see. We got to see howler monkeys which was incredible. It is a short walk to the beach through a private path from the home and the beach did not disappoint. The home is located within walking distance to all stores, restaurants, etc... We would definitely come back.
