If you are in St. Marys for a few days and want to enjoy the marsh and river views, this place is a very wise choice. Don & Melody are very friendly host. Captain’s Quarters is located on the 2nd floor of the garage of the owner. Yes, you live next door to them, but this is not a big deal in terms of privacy. The apartment is bright, comfortable, and the bathroom is surprisingly modern for a circa house of 1874. - the carpet is not the best choice of flooring when dogs are allowed… - bed is not large but good Thank you for your hospitality and the exquisite muffins!

My husband and I spent a lovely month at this VRBO. Don the owner is a great host, always available if need be. Though we had no issues to report. The apartment is beautiful, perfect for the two of us. It provided all the amenities, DISH tv and comfortable furniture and bedding. It is only 2 blocks from historic St Marys which added to the attraction of this property.

This property is a gem with every amenity. It is located on a historic property in a stunning location with a beautiful view over the nearby marshes from the front porch. We walked our dog multiple times a day through the historic neighborhood. Our hosts were lovely and very helpful too.

What a wonderful week at the Captain’s Quarters, with a view of the marsh in Saint Mary’s. Everything about this place was lovely and comfortable, from the bed to the jacuzzi tub to the Adirondack chairs on the balcony. Communication was fast and easy - and Don was so great. A definite gem!

This property is immaculate and well appointed. The decor and location is perfect! We were so pleased to find it was pet friendly too!! The deck overlooking the marsh was a great place for morning tea. The bed was super comfy and the master bath was gorgeous!! We WILL be back!

The Captain's Quarters was perfect for a couple and our 2 puppies. Adirondack chairs from a second story porch lend to beautiful views of the marsh and Cumberland Island. The host is very hospitable and accommodating. We plan to go back!

My wife and I have been using VRBO for years when we travel. We haven't taken a vacation in quite some time due to my wife's health and the pandemic. With my wife's doctors blessing we booked a stay at the Collier-Casey Estate and stayed in the Captains Quarters. This location is the standard that all VRBO properties should be measured by. It was immaculate, inviting, pet friendly and very comfortable. Our host Don Pierce greeted us upon arrival and brought us to our home away from home, he gave us an overview of the property, offered his help in any way and then left us to settle into this beautiful apartment. Everything was exactly as it was described, the marsh and river views were perfect, the location was peaceful and the sunrises were beautiful. We spent as much time as possible on the porch overlooking the property and enjoying the comforting sea breeze. On the day we left our host asked if there was anything he could improve upon, I couldn't think of anything! Pete & Sue

We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment. Great view across wetlands and harbor toward Amelia Island. We loved sitting on the balcony in the evening. Apartment is well decorated with beautiful antiques. “Downtown” St. Mary’s is a short walk—we enjoyed the restaurants! Don and Melody are accommodating hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home!

My husband and I recently took a trip to Saint Marys and stayed in the Captain's Quarters. We loved Saint Marys, but the accommodations and hospitality of Don and Melody took our trip to the next level! Don met us when we arrived and gave us a brief tour of the Captain's Quarters. We were impressed with how clean and spacious it was with high ceilings, open floor plan, large master bedroom with it huge walk in closet, and spacious bathroom with a jetted tub and double vanities. It is nicely decorated in an eclectic, antique style that gives it plenty of personality without feeling cluttered. Don and Melody were amazing hosts. They had supplied a basket of snacks and goodies, including two muffins from a local bakery. They were friendly and responsive, making sure we were enjoying our stay any time they saw us without being intrusive. The property was conveniently located to downtown, easy walking distance, and they had two bicycles on the property that we could use. It was beautifully landscaped, with a nice little outdoor area. Our apartment had a porch that overlooked the marsh where we could sit and enjoy a spectacular view of the sunrise. I can't recommend this location enough! I commented to my husband on multiple occasions that it was so quiet and calming being there. We were originally thinking about going to Amelia Island, but with Amelia Island being an easy drive away, I am so glad that we ended up in the quaint little town of Saint Marys, and especially happy that we found the Captain's Quarters!

Beautiful & relaxing yet walking distance to restaurants. Hosts so kind with surprise muffins one morning and dog gate fir the porch safety. We spent hours enjoying the spectacular view from our porch. Everything we could possibly need indoors too. Loved the high ceilings on a rainy quiet day. The luxurious bed made for such restful stay. Can’t say enough how kind the hosts were. The best retreat in all of St Marys if privacy, beauty and luxury are your priorities.

Although I had to cut my stay short due to personal reasons, my time at The Captian's Quarters was lovely. The property is absolutely beautiful and the accommodations were impeccable. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
