The Main River Mermaid is located on a Beautiful river that is spring fed which makes it a great, cool ,and relaxing place to enjoy the water. The house was very roomy and had a great screened in porch. The sleeping quarters were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you needed. But the backyard made this stay unforgettable with the sightings of manatees and other wildlife. A must stay. We will be planning a revisit!

We stayed here for a little under a week over spring break, and couldn’t have been happier. The house was spacious for 4 adults and 3 kids, very clean, and well maintained. But our favorite part of the property was the lanai and river access. It was so relaxing and peaceful sitting out back enjoying the wildlife (countless birds, fish, and manatees), and watching people paddle by. We would definitely return!!

This home is in the perefct location! Very close to Hospital Hole, easy access to the river and lots of people watching! The home is beautiful...the pictures don't do it justice!

Karen was a wonderful host. The house was exactly as described and the location was perfect. She was super responsive and even sent us updates and ideas of what to do while we were there. Would definitely go again. DO bring bug spray as suggested…being on the river means there are no see ums everywhere.

We had a fantastic long weekend stay. The location was perfect, there were kayaks for everyone, and the property was clean upon arrival. The owner was helpful and communicative with instructions for check-in and check-out.

the main river mermaid house truly made our trip! the location is perfection, we spent hours outside on the docks watching manatees swim by and enjoying the river, it has a huge spacious lanai that we never wanted to leave, there’s a perfect fire pit for nighttime hangs, lots of space inside with great amenities and the host was wonderful and easy to communicate with! if i could rate this higher than 5 stars i would! we will definitely be going back to the main river mermaid ASAP!

We have visited this property previously and the new owner has made many amazing updates to an already great property. The location, right near hospital hole cannot be topped for manatee viewing. Absolutely LOVED our stay and the great house. The back screened porch and decks were where we spent 95% of our time to enjoy the river and the beautiful preserve across from the house. Also, the owner has stocked EVERYTHING you need from TP to kayaks, just bring your swim suit and food!

We loved it here. 10/10. We definitely would come back. Lots of manatees. Property manager so nice and helpful. Had such a great time.

Main River Mermaid was the perfect home for my husband, teenagers, dog and myself to relax. It was beautiful, the perfect amount of space for us, with renovations throughout the property. We enjoyed our mornings on the back porch, our afternoons on the deck or kayaking the river and the evenings next to the fire pit. The kitchen was nicely stock with pots, pans, etc so we cooked some or would go to one of the local restaurants for dinner. We took advantage of the washer/dryer. It was nice to be able to pack light and just do laundry as needed. The hostess, Karen, was very attentive and friendly. The neighbors were also very nice and welcoming. We can’t wait to be back again to make more family memories.

This place was super nice! Huge screened porch overlooking the crystal clear waters of River! We enjoyed all the kayaks that come w this home and spent the day playing on the water. Nice clean comfy home !!

This property is perfectly nestled along the main part of the river, just around the corner from hospital hole. Great dock and porch area. Our children really enjoyed the rope swing ( I think that made the trip for them). We saw manatees every day both in the morning as they made their way up river and in the afternoons as they made their way back down.

We have rented houses in the past off of Weeki Watchee Springs. I must say this house hands down was the best! Clean and comfortable. Fully stocked. Beds were all very comfortable. Thank you Summer for everything and John for opening your home to us. We look forward to staying again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay. We saw manatees everyday! It was close to all the things we wanted.

Great house to hang with fam and friends on the water

We loved our stay, we did notice dog hair on one of the beds and on flooring. I was glad I was able to address Management on this issue. Other then that we really loved our stay, people that were supposed to come in after we left canceled, management notified us and we quickly took the offer since we didn’t want to leave. Thank you Summer for everything and for the quick response.

Best vacation! Loved the spot on the river. House was close to shops and restaurants. We had something fun to do every day and We sat outside every night and enjoyed watching people.

Had another great stay at the mermaid lounge! My kids love the rope swing and I love sitting on the porch swing on the dock. Such a great location on the main river right around the turn from hospital hole. Saw tons of fish, beautiful birds and manatee. The property manager, Summer, was super helpful and responsive. Having 5 kayaks to use is also really nice! House is stocked well and the 3 king beds are comfortable with nice linens. Love this place and the river!!!

This location is perfect. With the sand at the bottom of the river you can clearly see all of the manatees as they pass by and we saw a lot!

We absolutely loved everything about the house and the river. The location was picture perfect, right on the main river and so close to hospital hole and rogers park. We saw quite a few manatees, some even from the dock! The house was cozy, the beds were very comfortable, the AC worked great, and the screened in porch was amazing to have. We spent most of our time out there while not on the river. Highly recommend to anyone!

I didn't know a place like this existed in Florida. It was beautiful. Having the river in your back yard, plus the preserve. Really something special. We'll definitely be back!!

We really enjoyed our stay at John's place. We loved the location, right on the river with hospital hole around the corner. The covered swing and rope swing were well used. The huge deck was awesome, watching the paddlers, boaters and occasional manatee cruise by. It was nice having 3 king sized beds. Thanks John for being so accommodating with the late additional pup.

The property had all we needed for a great River vacation! The communication with the property manager was great and made for a very enjoyable vacation. I definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing getaway to the river.

This is our 2nd time staying at this property. We loved it just as much as the first time. Location is excellent and the water depth is perfect for swinging into the river. Our kids spent hours jumping off of the docks. The property manager is super helpful and always available and f needed. Property is clean and well kept. We can’t wait to come back.

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s conveniently located mid river so we were able to paddle up stream to the park and downstream to the gulf. A short drive to restaurants and stores. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by nature. A great escape to be able to relax and enjoy the beauty of Florida. House was clean and hosts were very accommodating.

I will be coming here again - amazing place. Lots of manatees and the river is spectacular. Best views, great place if you want to kayak and swim, and just around the corner from Hospital Hole. We really enjoyed this visit! You cannot top this location, so close to Hospital Hole- we saw tons of manatees. The back porch & decks are amazing & the house is very comfortable. Super grateful to be able to bring our furry family members as well. I've never stayed a better stocked rental, toilet paper to tissues! The property manager, Summer, was immediately responsive to our questions. We will be back, for sure!

House is terrific and perfect location for enjoying weeki wachee. So many manatees!

We couldn't be happier with our stay at Weeki Wachee! Within 30 minutes of walking through the front door, two manatees went past the back deck! The home was perfectly appointed with comfortable beds in spacious rooms. We were able to relax on the couch and watch movies in the evening, go in to town for dinners, or cook meals with everything supplied in the house. We even completed a puzzle from the cabinet! Summer was so helpful and responsive - not to mention kind! But best of all was HANDS DOWN, location, location, location! Being just 3 houses upstream from Hospital Hole meant that we were a short and easy kayak from the most amazing and mind-blowing experience of seeing those gorgeous manatees every day of our stay. This visit is something we will remember for a lifetime, and we hope to come back again!
