An awesome vacation home with all he amenities and in an excellent location. The house was clean and spacious. Ellen was quick in responding to our calls for any questions.

Ellen was a very attentive and responsive host. We had everything we needed for our family’s annual women’s retreat. Every question I had was answered immediately with a friendly response. I definitely plan on using this home again.

Ellen was responsive and friendly throughout the process! The house is gorgeous— clean, cheerful, roomy, and well appointed. The kids especially enjoyed the game room and the close proximity to fishing and kayaks. Plenty of room for 8 adults and 10 children. Comfy beds and linens. We give it 5-stars. Thank you, Ellen!

Everything was great! Short walk to the beach and lake. The only drawback is that you cannot use your own kayaks and canoes on the lake due to permitting. We would definitely recommend this place to other families.

From the beginning of the booking process everything was smooth and the communication between the owner and myself was very open and pleasant! The small gestures that the owner provided made such a huge impact on my guest and I and that is what I call amazing service! This property is beautiful inside and out! Great house for a large family, had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving getaway

Great location for little kids. Super close to beach and playground. Road the home is on is not busy. The area is very safe, security drives around several times an hour. No trash bins sitting out, very clean neighborhood. This was not an issue for us but you only get 8 wrist bands to use the beach and playground for kids and adults 5 and older. With a house that sleeps so many this could be an issue. They do have people regularly checking for the wrist bands. Great place, would definitely go back in the future!

Great stay, great property only advice is bring fans for white noise as the walls are relatively thin.

House was great, comfortable, plenty of room. It was open and airy, plenty of space for family and friends to eat and play games. It was wonderful. The host was great and helpful. I cant wait to do it again , in the summer and again in the winter. Thank you !!!!

If I could give Ellen 10 stars I would!! She was a phenomenal communicator from the day we booked the trip. She also reached out 2 times throughout our stay to make sure all was good! The house is gorgeous and only a 1 minute walk to the lake/amenities. Although the lake was closed during our stay, it was out of anyone’s control and there were a few other lakes in the area that we were able to go to! The house comes with everything you need as well which was a huge plus with our extended family vacation!! No lugging pots/pans/blankets/pillows/bath towels and more! Thank you Ellen for allowing our family to stay in your home!!

If you have a larger group and need somewhere to get away choose this house! Huge rooms with lots of things to do.

I rented this spacious home to surprise my wife for her birthday. We were able to have our closest friends and family present. Great location, the lake is 30 seconds away (walking) homeowner has kayaks and paddles (bring beach chairs or a blanket). The homeowner also provided board games. There is a small kids park near the lake and a basketball court on Hopkins. The house looks exactly as shown in photos. Homeowner was attentive and very accommodating. Highly recommend this home for large families or folks traveling with a large number of people.

It was indeed a fantastic stay. Great spot to spend a quality time with friends and family. Lake in just a few minutes walking distance is a great plus for this stay. This vacation home for any season to cherrish.

Large clean space. The bed I was in was uncomfortable. I bought a mattress topper and was reimbursed.

My family and I had a great time at the Family affair lakeside chalet. With such a large group it is hard to find a place for all of us to fit comfortably, but not with this home. We were all able to hang out, have a family dinner, watch movies, you name it all without being on top of one another! The location is also great, while the older kids went snow tubing at JFBB the little kids went to the water park at Split-rock, both are only about 15 minutes away. Ellen was beyond amazing, she made sure to check in daily to make sure all was going well. It also snowed on and off the whole weekend so she was sure to make sure we didn’t need any plowing. We will absolutely be back, I highly recommend renting from the Capell’s you will not be disappointed! Thank you again Ellen, we had a blast :)

My family and I loved our stay! The house was very spacious, we had 6 children and 6 adults & there was just plenty of space for all! The grocery store was near and within 15 minutes we were @ Split Rock water park.

My family and I rented this beautiful home for our annual religious retreat. This home was the main meeting place for our bible studies that we held daily as 2 other homes were rented. When we entered the home we were automatically impressed. The rooms were gorgeous and the home had a homey feeling. There are lots of supplies in the home, there were even seasonings provided. On cool days we enjoyed coffee and tea and there were plenty of mugs supplied. There was plenty of seating for our large group as well. Having TVs in every room was awesome. We even had a karaoke night in the living room and were able to put the words up on the big screen tv. The short walk to the lake and seeing the sun rise and set was absolutely beautiful and to see the families of deer was spectacular. There was even a playscape near the lake. The kids had a great time and it's not always easy to please little ones. There's also plenty of parking so when we had friends over, we were able to have room for 3 additional cars. We did have a few minor issues that were quickly rectified by Ellen. At the 2 other homes rented there were issues that arose over the weekend, but unfortunately, we didn't hear from the owners for almost 36 hours. This was not the case with Ellen. My entire group voiced the same opinion, working with Ellen was a dream come true. We have also rented homes in the past and none of the realtors/homeowners were as responsive as Ellen. Even when I was inquiring about renting the home, I emailed late at night and didn't expect a response but lo and behold, that's exactly what I got. She truly cares about the individuals who stay at her home and does her best to ensure they have a 5-star stay. For us, Ellen deserves more than 5 stars. Not only did we have the best time ever in this beautiful home, we had the pleasure of working with a truly beautiful, caring person. If you want the time of your life, to stay at a home that is well-stocked and want to deal with a very responsive homeowner, I strongly recommend renting this home. We plan to return and when we do, we'll be contacting Ellen!!!

My friends and family had an amazing time this past weekend. Communication with Ellen was superb. The home is well kept with exceptional space. We had so much fun in the lake which was only a few steps away! The paddle boats are must! I will definitely book this home for next years trip! Thank you Ellen!

My friends and I rented this house for a rafting trip. The owner was very attentive and ensured our stay was the best it could be. We are a large group and it is hard to find a house to fit 16 adults comfortably, but this house did not disappoint. There is a large table for family style dinners, short walk to the water, relaxing setting and a game room. If we plan another trip to the area we would rent here again.

My friends and I went on a ski trip to Blue Mountain and this house was a perfect stay! It was a quick 30 minute drive. Ellen was AMAZING at responding within minutes and made sure we had a great stay. Highly recommend everyone to stay here whether you have a group of 10 or 20!

My group had the opportunity to stay at this amazing house. Ellen was the best host. She allowed the group to arrive early. My roommates from college and our families had a wonderful time reconnecting at your house. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Our family had a great time staying at the house for our yearly extended family together. We all had plenty of room and cooked all of our meals at the house. The bunk bed room worked great for the kids and everyone said their room was comfortable.

Our group had a spectacular time. The house was the perfect size for us. There was plenty of seating for eating and hanging out. Our boys played pool downstairs while the adults hung out upstairs. The entire weekend was relaxing! We would definitely stay at this house again.

Overall great house for a large family and plenty of floors to break up the families. The large dining room off the side of the kitchen was great for our 16-person Thanksgiving dinner.

Owner is super friendly and responsive to questions and issues. Beach, pool, and other amenities are conveniently located and within walkable distance. Nice deck and comfortable outdoor seating for family barbecues. The cleaniness of the house seems to be a bit lacking. The owner should definitely address this with the cleaners. Sticky tables and floors. Skittles on the corners. Would we come here again? Absolutely! It is a fabulous house! We all had a great time!

Rented with 14 friends. Fun time. Plenty of room to sprawl out. Dining area sat many people comfortably. Game room great as well. Ellen was responsive and friendly. thank you.

Started a family reunion tradition this year and picked the Poconos for our location. The house was perfectly sized and accommodated all of us. Great space and beautiful inside and out. Would definitely come back!

The home was very nice and was plenty of room for our family of 11. We had two toddlers with us so were concerned about the different levels but we put a gate across the stairs and it gave them plenty of room without us worrying about them. Ellen checked in via text often and offered anything we may need. I booked this particular location for the lake but according to residents it was closed most of July and our week as well. That was disappointing but we found two great parks…Hickory Run and Beltzville. Both state parks and nice swimming areas. We also loved seeing deer on the street. My grandchildren had fun feeding them.

The house is beautiful and the owner seems to care about the property but has relied too heavily on her cleaning company without checking on the house herself. It was FILTHY. My husband and I spent 2 days cleaning it before the rest of our party arrived. Visible dirt, grease, cobwebs coated in dirt not to mention the repairs that needed to done. I took photos I would love to submit. The pot holders were nasty and the owner told us to throw them out but didn't replace them during our stay. We did. A pot actually had holes in it and the water we put in it leaked out! There was a half inch of crumbs between the sofa cushions. We were give 10 towels and the house can sleep 22. I asked for more and was given some 36 hours later after being reminded of how many are provided. We were there for our son's wedding and had a large group, it was too late to find other accommodations. Helen is very nice, just absent.

The house was perfect for us. The owner was extremely accommodating and let us check in early and out late. She kept in touch with me to make sure everything was okay. When I needed to ask her something, either via text or by phone, she answered ya quickly. Would highly recommend this place. Might be returning back in the summer with my family. They very much enjoyed it and would like to check it out in the summertime.
