This is an older hotel but it was really nice. I enjoyed it a lot. It was clean. It had no smells and there were no issues. The staff were fantastic and knew the area very well.

Staff was super nice and friendly. Room was very clean, neat, comfortable , and in good condition. The common areas need a bit of TLC, just a bit worn. Great value. Would stay there again when in Lynchburg.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It used to be nice, but now it looks very worn out. Our room had a dirty carpet, drain did not work properly in bathroom tub, we only got one piece of soap, elevator was not showing the L for Lobby, and the whole place looked tired.

The lock on the door needs fixing! I had to commit a borderline burglary to get in the room! Other than that it was cool!

A friend and I stayed during a woman's conference. We enjoyed the location and found the room to be much more than adequate. Yes, there is popcorn ceilings and a few things that could be updated, but it was built in 1913, and we found our room to be comfortable, clean, and would definitely stay there again. There was a refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig machine and the rooms were very spacious. No funny smells, a confortable bed, ac, and overall a great place.

Location is great and rooms are good. Service on the other hand was absent. When the room Keurig didn’t work, we went to the front desk and asked for a replacement or have it fixed. We received a cold and shrugged shoulders response saying there is nothing they could do.

Great location. Good price. Free parking. Deserted eerie feeling. Bar and restaurant closed. Pool closed.

The hotel was nice for a quick one night stay (post football game). Though the mattresses were thin (felt the springs) and bouncy (felt every movement). There was also a party at the end of the block that went on loudly till after midnight (music, dancing, lights).

I would have loved to have seen this property in its hey day. It’s lovely now but I’m sure it was magnificent back in the day. Very regal. When they say dog friendly they mean it. They don’t just tolerate them. They love them. The pet fee was only $20 per pet per stay. Can’t beat that anywhere. The staff was super friendly. You’re within walking distance of literally everything downtown. Adjacent to the lobby is an abandoned bar very reminiscent of The Shining if you’re in town for the ghost tours and appreciate that sort of thing. Lots of free parking right beside the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clearly it has a great reputation. My friend is an occupational therapist and they stay there for their convention. The Campbell University football team was there when we were. Music from the era plays throughout the hotel adding to the ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Overall it was clean, comfortable bed, nice staff, etc.. The amenities were lacking and several public items like ice machine etc were out of order. No place to eat on sight but very good places to eat within walking distance.

The hotel was perfectly clean, but was dated. If the bar and restaurant could be opened, this would be a real boost to the place, also. But the property is beautiful, the building is really historical in nature. The management was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again for a very comfortable night's sleep.

It was clean and it was nice to be able to walk to restaurants in downtown Lynchburg. Cute mountain town, too bad there’s not more going on there. I thought the random pianos scattered around for anyone to play was a really cool touch.
