We had very early checkin thanks to Laurie at front desk. We were able to rest before the family gathering. Laurie was friendly and very helpful!

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. Nice ammenities. Only con was you had to pay for coffee at the lobby area. There was a small coffee pot and coffee in the room, but odd not to have coffee and water not included.

Basic hotel that has a nice Starbucks. Unfortunately the second morning nobody was at the desk or the starbucks counter. Tried to get attention, but nobody was to be found.
The hot tub, while nice, was incredibly hot. So hot it was really uncomfortable and thus unuseable.

Had a great time staying there. The staff is friendly. Great coffee. Bed are comfortable! Room is secure and no random noise from hallway and or adjoining rooms. Peaceful stay!

Frustrated that I had a negotiated rate through Expedia for $142 including breakfast for two but my credit card was charged $170. $20 of that was supposed to be refunded but has not been at this time. Also, the desk clerk said she didn't see anything on the recoord regarding breakfast so we were not able to get breakfast at the hotel.

Our room was old and outdated. it definitely needed to be updated. The mattress was not comfortable--soft and saggy. The pillows were old and lumpy. The air conditioner was so loud it was hard to sleep. I hate to give a bad review but it was not a good experience.

This is an older hotel, but it’s been kept up to date very nicely. The room was nice and clean, but we were there for two nights, and no one came and changed the sheets and towels or coffee supplies while we were away. But lots of places are short-staffed these days, and several places I’ve stayed have been like that, where they only clean every three nights or so.

The Courtyard is perfect to walk in a quiet area . Go to Mi Mexico only 5 minute walk and get your Margarita on the Cabana

I originally booked at the Courtyard by Marriott Des Moines West Clive because I was looking for a nice hotel with a bar and restaurant. The Marriott website and Expedia both advertise a bar and restaurant with statements such as this:
“Stop by in the evening for delicious dinner options and handcrafted cocktails.”
There is a bar and restaurant only it is not open and no one is working there. The room was nice enough but there are a number of places I could have booked that actually have a bar and restaurant.

My father had to be taken to the emergency room and we were unable to travel. This hotel would not give my money back. Things are tight right now especially since he is in the hospital again. I can’t believe a hotel would do this. They make enough money from people staying in hotels why do you need to take money from people that cannot stay due to horrible circumstances. I could never recommend this hotel due to this experience. Hope it doesn’t happen to you. Matt Hood. The assistant manager thinks it’s okay to steal money.
