It looked clean but our room smelled of stale smoke and piss. The smell overtook the room. It was awful. When I asked to be moved, the receptionist said all rooms were booked and offered a bottle of carpet spray. I would never stay there again.

When we arrived the staff was very friendly
Our room was clean and very comfortable
The next morning we went to have breakfast the staff that worked in the breakfast room was so sweet and friendly she was also very helpful if she was ask a question.

The stay was nice. Though the people above us were stomping around on thier floor for hours, at least until midnight, it made it very hard to sleep. The beds werent to bad (not to hard) the shower could use a bit more pressure. The in room coffee was horrible, but the breakfast coffee downstairs was good (folgers). The ceiling in our room was cracked by the smoke detector. But other than that the stay was nice. The front desk lady that checked me in was super nice and friendly.

The place is a bit outdated and the rooms dont feel the freshest. But the hotel was adequate and well sotuated, and it made up in its wonderful complentary breakfast with the sausage cheese English muffins and the fresh biscuits and gravy. They started the buffet at 6:30 before their official 7:00 which helped us.

The gal who checked us in was unfriendly & unwelcoming. We tried being polite and friendly, but there was no reciprocation of courtesy from her. (We stayed at the same place about a year ago, and we remembered the same from her then, too.) In contrast, the breakfast was very good and the lady working it was lovely-so nice. No reason why the front desk worker shouldn’t have been nice too. It left a negative impression of this hotel. We will keep going to Petoskey next time, where customer service seems much friendlier anywhere we have ever stayed.

The area is quiet and the drive to town was convenient. Jax across the street had amazing food. The court area out back was very nice. My husband and I enjoyed sitting outside. I would have loved to swim in the pool but the chlorine seemed a little high. Having availability to juice, fruit and breakfast was nice.

Awful staff, I cancelled before the cancellation period and they charged me. I tried to call multiple times and got voicemail and even messages and chatted them and NO response. Ricidulous.

The hotel was great, the breakfast was very limited and the pool area definitely could use some work.
We were given an accessible room with a walkout shower, and the design is terrible, while showering you fill the rest of the bathroom with water.
They have a lovely courtyard out behind the hotel with loungers that you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee.
It is a ways away from downtown so you are driving to the river or beach, its certainly not walkable.

A couple of issues checking in, they gave us the wrong room (already occupied), then put us in a small crowded room on the 3rd floor (not ideal with 2 dogs and a very slow elevator). Evidently housekeeping thought that room was vacant since she let herself into our room in the morning while we were still in bed despite the "privacy please" tag on the doorknob (not her fault). We did like the large enclosed grassy area in back for the dogs.

This is one of the best Best Western properties Ive ever stayed at. The room was in great condition and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good with malted waffles and sausage gravy over biscuits. We had a great experience.
