This is an elegant, period building, the rooms are large and spacious. We had room 308 on the front of the hotel which gave us a balcony with a Mountain View. Because it is an old building, it does not have aircon. It was hot while we were there, but we were able to sleep with the windows open and the fan on; there is a road at the front of the hotel, but iit is very quiet and nothing happens after 10.30! We had B@B but lunch and evening meals are available. The breakfast buffet is excellent - including sparkling wine!The hotel staff are very helpful and everyone speaks excellent English.
The housekeeping is excellent. We stayed for 7 nights; the sheets and robes were changed three times while we were there. The mini-bar contents are included in the cost and are replenished every day - I enjoyed the half bottle of Prosecco every evening after a day in the mountains.
The hotel is 5 minutes walking from Interlaken Ost train station and boat station so getting around is very easy. I would recommend getting the Swiss Trail Pass as it gives free travel on trains, boats and buses, and discounts on some of the mountain routes.

Great hotel so close to station and Harder Kulm. Great shopping/restaurants nearby and outstanding staff. Taking one star out for not having AC though they provided table fans (but maybe very common in hotels in this area).

Beautiful hotel, superb “old school” service, a real classic type experience. Unfortunately the room had no air conditioning so was quite uncomfortable during the really good weather. I expect it will be completely different during colder weather. Overall though, a really nice hotel.

The word grand only applies to the exterior appearance of this hotel. I booked a suite with a balcony, and this was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. The hotel is more of a three star hotel, and the quality of the rooms is horrible. The room with so tiny I literally had no space to even open my luggage. The carpets are stained. The rooms are very outdated and extremely basic. Nothing luxurious about these rooms at all. Photos on the website do not even do the rooms justice for what they really look like. Very outdated. Front desk customer service not helpful at all in my request of Trying to get a better room. Or trying to get a partial refund. I would not recommend staying in this hotel at $500 a night it was absolutely horrible experience.

We booked two rooms for my family. Spent $2000 a night for two rooms. We walked in with stains on the carpets, on the chairs and just dirty. We can deal with worn or run down furniture but NOT dirty.
The front desk apologized and they did nothing except to move me to another room which we did and it was also dirty and completely run down. A 4 star hotel should be clean, great customer service and a place you are happy to be sleeping for the night. I definitely don’t recommend them unless they renovate.

What a BEAUTIFUL step back into a time of Grandeur!! The hotel is classic, stylish and impeccably maintained. The staff are SUPERB and remarkably accommodating. Our room was extremely comfortable with a beautiful Mountain View. We did not have a/c, but we did NOT need it. We visited in July and were extremely happy to leave the windows open for a beautiful fresh night-time breeze. The location is super convenient-everything is within very comfortable walking distance (train station, restaurants, sight-seeing, etc.). We would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel!!

This hotel is very close to Interlaken Ost train station and Harder Bahn. It also overlooks the river. However, the hotel looks fancy online but in reality it’s a bit dated. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. But the restaurant for dinner wasn’t very tasty, despite good service.
The shower was over a bath, vs walk-in, which we didn’t realize so check before you book. The room had a balcony which was delightful and offered fantastic views.
