I booked property same morning 5 hours prior to our arrival. I received immediate email confirmation of my stay and that I would receive a follow up email w a code to the lock box closer to check in (3:00 pm); I checked my email 3x times in route and nothing. We arrived about 2:40 and still no email or any communication re lock box code and entry! I called the property 3 times at the number listed on Expedia reservation as well as their own website but no answer, each time leaving a VM. I called Expedia who put me on hold and attempted to reach the property, same results! Expedia gave up after another wait and attempt and offered to book me someplace else, a Best Western.. I refused since not a similar property off the beach/boardwalk area which was the attraction to booking in the first place. A competitor property next door attempted to call property mgr at a different number they had and left a msg to give me a call.. a guest staying on a lower level who I introduced myself to also called and did same.. 2 1/2 hours later while dining nearby, I received a call from Tiffany, the property check in rep apologizing that she had not noticed the reservation & didn’t have access to email for a while! Unbelievable, since there was no issues w booking the property n getting a confirmation email (which I suspect was auto generated). Who’s manning the gatehouse?? After requesting n initially refuted I was granted a 4 pm check out. That was nice but an xtremely frustrating xperience!

I have traveled a lot and this place is the cutest little place ever! Perfect walking distance to everything fun in Grand Haven. We’re watching the light/water show from our room! Can’t wait to come back again!

When I searched hotels/suites this place came up & I am so glad to have found it. Love the fact that the bedroom is separated with a door. The whole place was very clean. I also felt very safe in this neighbor

Very clean, just steps from the lakefront and dining/brewery options. Bathroom was really nice - massive tub. Room was very large. Having a smart tv option could have been a bonus minus just cable. Walls are pretty thin. But otherwise great stay and very communicative property managers. Easy check-in and parking lot a bonus.

The property itself was very nice. I had the upper-deck and it was very nice and quaint for myself. 1-2 block walk to downtown area. Off-season so, was wonderful and peaceful. I'm sure it's a bit more hectic in the warmer month as I also live in a small beach town. I stayed Sat and Sunday so I don't believe I there were guests downstairs.

Location was perfect right by the river and boardwalk and just a short walk to the lake. Very clean, amazing shower but beds and pillows are quite firm.

Asked owner for a 1-2 hour later check out because I worked third shift and not only did she not answer, but called the police to have me removed while they stayed there. No noise, no issues all night, place was left clean….just called the police and said that the phone I left the message on didn’t accept messages???!! After her manifesto orientation email only listed that one number. It’s a small house in Grand Haven lady, not a penthouse apartment in New York City worth millions of dollars.

This was a great place to stay. Really cozy and charming. I would recommend staying on the top floor if you want total quiet. The main floor has a door adjoining the 2 units and the children on the other side ,though they were lovely, were a little loud. Just the luck of the draw I guess that we had kids on the other side. Other than that though everything was really awesome.

Easy to find, great communication via email from the owners. Extremely clean and comfortable, only a short walk to shopping and restaurants. The sitting room with fireplace is so cozy and welcoming! This unit only has a kitchenette, but it is fully stocked with coffee pods and tea, dishes and water. The bathroom is very large and again, extremely clean. The bed is quite comfortable. The unit is up a set of outside stairs, so perhaps not the best choice for persons with mobility issues. All in all, a gorgeous place that I would not hesitate to recommend or visit again.

Absolutely perfect place to stay. A street over from all the bars, restaurants, and shopping. Upper Deck suite balcony has views of the boats on the channel, and times of sun and shade. Nice walk to the pier and beach. Good size rooms and bathroom, bonus of a kitchenette. Everything was perfect and would definitely recommend and book again.

The stay at Captain's Cottage Suites was great. The staff were very helpful when we couldn't get the television to work, the husband came and fixed it. The suite was clean and very cute. Would definitely go back.

Great location; easy walking distance to Main Street of downtown with cute shops and dining. Waterfront less than a block away. Private deck. Very spacious suite and immaculately clean. I think we were just lucky to get a reservation.
