Excellent service and hospitality. Ocean view room is beautiful. Buffet foods are delicious too. This is one of the few hotels that I would like to give a perfect rating. However, the bed is a bit aged and too hard for me to have a good rest. So, I had to downgrade it for this only factor.
I wish the hotel could review my comment and reconsider upfitting its bed condition, so that it will truly become a perfect hotel in all aspects.

Excellent resort beautiful views from ocean view room and the lobby area.
We did half board and buffet style breakfast and dinner were excellent.
The hotel is situated on top of a steep hill so walking into the town is not an option but the hotel provides free shuttle service which is very convenient.

Matsushima is a beautiful bay with many small islands. From our room the view was astonishing.

Beautiful hotel, with a complimentary breakfast buffet and a bathhouse. Traditional bedroom was nice, but sleeping on a futon on the floor was hard on an American back! Take the free tour bus into downtown for a fun Matsushima shopping experience!
