Staff was really friendly and the property is in good condition. The terrace is great to get some work done. Beds were comfy. The restaurant discount was a nice touch.
The biggest downside would be the noise level coming in. At night it’s the bars and restaurants. In the morning it’s the truck traffic driving by.
I would again if the price was right.

The location is perfect. Right in the center of town so I could walk wherever I wanted. Beach is right across the street. That being said, its central location causes it to be very load at night due to people partying outside. Overall good stay

So I took my first solo trip and stayed in Zulu Surf Hotel for ten days. I could not be happier with my choice! Zulu is an amazing place with an incredible staff that goes above and beyond in every way! Bali and the other girls working are so awesome! They really help with anything you need! They put on little activities each night that make it very easy to meet new people from all over the world! The hotel is very well located and has an incredible cafe (sol bakery) and many food options with the best bar anywhere around! Everyone is very friendly!! The terrace is super cool as well, nice to hangout, drink coffee, plays cards, whatever you’d like to do! This hotel was above all my expectations and I would highly recommend to anyone, especially solo travelers!!

Wow, what an amazing hotel. Me and my girlfriend spent 5 nights here and we truly regret it wasn’t LONGER. We had an amazing experience, Bali the receptionist is so fun, so nice and very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, big and particularly very cheap for an gorgeous hotel like that! 2 min to the beach, 0 min to restaurant, multiple tours you can choose (we did the catamaran and it was amazing)! Thanks for everything, I really recommend this hotel to anyone and of course there’s music at night (not bad at all) but it’s in every hotel in tamarindo. Thanks for everything!

Highly recommend this hotel. It was very clean, super convenient location. The food court downstairs was superb. The only issue I would say is there was no cold water in the shower, only scalding hot it was literally burning me. Plus with 100 degree weather, who wants to take a hot shower? Otherwise, the woman that checked us in wasn't friendly (skinny dirty blonde/brown hair) not at checkin or when I brought my 3yr old niece and her parents into the hotel as my niece needed to use the bathroom. I verify who I was, bringing my family in for a moment, not to hang out and she still had an attitude.

The pictures are an absolute joke. It is discussing, dirty, and musty. My husband was so taken back that he ran across the street to the Tamarindo Diria. You will do the same. Don’t waist your time booking this low class dump . Karen Kopins actress/ model trust me you will be so happy you did!

Very nice, friendly, and accommodating staff. My room had a lot of traffic / street noise from before 5 AM to past midnight every day I was there. For the price, I think it is a pretty good bargain and I would stay here again. But, if traffic noise will interfere with your sleep, you might want to look elsewhere.

Very cute, simply furnished yet comfortable central location. We really enjoyed the room a/c mid day and the rooftop terrance in the evening. Small room fridge and rooftop water and tea all day appreciated. Very friendly and professional staff.

It’s a great location for the beach or entertainment. The front desk folks were super helpful and friendly. The room was clean and cozy.

This is a nice little hotel, unfortunately our room was next to the main door so LOTS of noise. We arrived just before 4pm & they wouldn't check us in until 4pm even thought my confirmation said 3pm??
We had breakfast at Sol (their restaurant) amazing.

Loved the simple room and was perfect for our stay for a few days while visiting the beach, surfing, and enjoying the wonderful food. Our only gripe was the mattress wasn't our favorite but loved the close food options and the discounts that the hotel offered. The hotel felt close to everything in Tamarindo and we happily explored everywhere we could on foot. We liked that the 'Watchy' was free as well but tipped him anyway. Sol bakery was our favorite in the mornings, with good food, smoothies and coffee would couldn't ask for a better way to start our mornings. This place has great vibes and we would absolutely stay again.
