This a not a luxurious hotel, you will not get fancy toiletries nor fluffy towels, but what you do get is an excellent location and value. My room was big and comfortable, very clean, the bathroom had a great shower and the bed was very nice and comfy. There are many very good restaurants just steps away and everything else in Cali is just a short Uber ride away. The only drawback is that you do hear (at least in my room) street sounds, which did not bother me.

We arrived excited to stay in the are near the Hotel Intercontinental- the front desk questions our nationality as soon as he finds out we are Colombians he charged us an extra fee - we argue that we are Americans as well and our passports are at our family safe box, but we have pictures of our passports- we said no and charged saying if we bring proof we will refund our money. We go to get our passports and he said too back we can take your money but we can't give it back. First and last time they see us - we travel at least 6 times a year.

Overall was a nice modern room. Good staff plenty of restaurants around, good location. No parking but plenty of doace on the streets controlled by guys who watch your car and you have to pay them something.

The hotel staff was very attentive, pleasant, very professional. I stayed in a one bedroom, it had plenty of space, clean the AC worked, I would recommend this hotel, and will definitely go back.

Stayed at the Hotel el Penon for two nights. Checkin was quick and easy and desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very big, clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the rain shower head and the comfortable full size beds. Free Netflix was also a nice addition as I was able to watch TV in English after a long day of wondering around the city. The breakfast was good as well. It was offered in the adjacent restaurant and offered all selections but 2 from the menu. The French Toast was excellent. Very pleased with the hotel and would definitely state there again.

Our first time in Cali, Colombia and really liked the hotel and the area! Lots of nearby restaurants. Really liked yeh burger place attached to the hotel!

The restaurant downstairs was a plus as well. And lastly, as a very light sleeper, I was happy to find out that the windows were double-paned glass! This is a rarity in South America and made all the difference blocking the street noise (which wasn't much of either way).
