Landal Esonstad holiday park is located 13 km from Dokkum, the northernmost city in the Netherlands, and close to Lauwersmeer National Park. The complex was built on the model of a Frisian fortified town, complete with a lively marketplace and houses in the style of early Renaissance Friesland. It features 144 bungalows in the old Frisian style and 77 modern hillock houses. All accommodation is non-smoking. The water-rich landscape with dikes and wharfs on the Lauwersmeer offers a variety of water-related attractions, sports and leisure activities. The nearby Wadden islands can be reached by the daily ferry from the park to Schiermonnikoog.
