Hale Ho'omaka'i, formerly know as the Lufkin House invites you to "E komo mai" (come belong). Our beloved Historic property in Wailuku town is a charming wonder to behold. Full of enchanting surprises around every corner. Centrally located, it is 15 minutes from the airport, beach, aquarium, and fine dining. It is a 5 minute minute drive from our beautiful state park ʻĪao Valley, and is within walking distance to local shopping, historic buildings, casual dining and coffee shops.

The Space:
Immerse yourself in the rich history of Maui as you step into this lovingly preserved 100-year-old home. With a total of 10 thoughtfully designed suites, each with its own distinctive character, we invite you to relive the past while enjoying the comforts of the present. The property consists of two homes which were meticulously renovated and refurnished in 2023 and 2024, ensuring that every detail reflects the grace and elegance of its storied past.

The main house has 7 suites.

The second house (which we call the Fairbanks House) has 3 suites.

Each of the 10 suites have an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, high speed wifi, a keurig coffee maker, and a mini fridge.

From high ceilings adorned with crown moldings to antique furnishings and plush bedding, every suite is a retreat in itself. Immerse yourself in the warm ambiance and unique character of a bygone era.

Grounds and Gardens:
Step outside and be captivated by the lush tropical surroundings of the inn's beautiful grounds. Find serenity in the meticulously landscaped gardens, where fragrant flowers bloom and provide a tranquil backdrop for your stay. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely morning stroll or unwinding with a book under the shade of swaying palms, the outdoor spaces at the Historic Wailuku Inn are an oasis of calm.

There's 14 available parking spots on the property (two of the spots are tandem)

Catering and Laundry:
Catering and laundry service are both available for an extra fee upon request

Airbnb's reservation widget shows a max guest count of 16. But we can accommodate up to 20 guests (2 guests maximum per suite).
