This newly renovated home offers the perfect space for comfort, style, and convenience. Nestled in the heart of Managua, our retreat is ideal for families, diplomats, and business travelers seeking a memorable stay. The home is unique, blending together a traditional, modern, art deco, and hipster feel, while still maintaining a charming Nicaraguan ambiance.
Situated in traditional Managua neighborhood and unlike the tourist areas like Granada, San Juan Del Sur, and Ometepe, our home offers you a unique opportunity to live the Nicaraguan Culture, not just watch it. Don't get us wrong, those tourist areas are beautiful and easily accessible from Managua, but they simply don't offer the same cultural experience of being emersed in daily Nicaraguan life.
House Rules
Welcome to our home! We hope you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. To ensure a pleasant experience for all our guests, please follow these house rules:
1. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house. You may smoke outside in both the front and back verandas, but please dispose of your cigarette butts responsibly. If in the event we do find evidence of smoking inside the house, you will be charged an extra $250.00 cleaning fee.
2. Please remember that electric is very expensive in Nicaragua which is why most homes here don't have Air Conditioners, clothes dryers, electric stoves and other electric appliances.
3. As such, we limit the number of KwH you can use each day to 30. This is more than enough if you practice reasonable energy conservation.
If you use more than 30 KwH per day, you will be charged at the rate of $0.45 per KwH. For example, if you are staying for 5-nights and you use a total of 30 KwH each day, that would be a total of 150 KwH for the entire 5 days and therefore you will not be charged. However, under the same scenario if you use 40 KwH each day, that would be a total of 200 KwH for the same 5-night stay. Therefore you will be charged for an additional 50 KwH. $0.45 x 50 = $22.50. To determine electricity usage, meter readings are taken at check-in and check-out. You will be required to sign a usage agreement upon check-in and check-out.
To help avoid this expensive charge from occurring, here are some simple tips that are very helpful towards conserving energy:
A.) Only run AC's when you go to sleep. We have calculated the average use to 8 sleeping hours each night, per bedroom. Please keep the AC temperature set to 73 °F/23 °C, close your door, and run the ceiling fan.
B.) When you awake in the morning, turn the AC off, keep the ceiling fan on, close the window blinds, and close the bedroom door. This will help keep the bedroom cool and make it easier to cool off the room for the next night’s sleep.
C.) When you leave a room or the house, make sure to turn off the lights, as well as other electronics and appliances like TVs and fans.
4. As you’ll see, there is an electric fence on top of the home. This is in place for your security. Please do not attempt to touch it as it would result in a very uncomfortable experience.
5. There are 6 surveillance cameras in place for your safety. All cameras monitor and record outside common areas, entrances and exits only. At no time is your indoor privacy compromised. All outside common area camera field of view ranges are geo fenced and strictly limited to property exits and entrances.
6. You may use the security system if you plan to be away for long periods of time. If you do want to use it, please inform the property manager (Roger) and he will show you how to operate it.
7. All costs to repair any damage to the property and all costs to replace any missing items of any kind will be the sole responsibility of guests who will be charged via the booking platform. We document and inventory all property items the same day as you check-out.
8. Large parties, events, and gatherings are not allowed. Keep noise to a minimum, especially after 10 PM. Of course, you may have family and guests for casual visits.
10. Maximum Occupancy is 14 guests. The number of guests must match your reservation at check-in. Before checking in, the person of whom made this booking will be required to provide an official government issues ID at check-in. We will make a copy of and keep for the duration of your stay. Please avoid putting out the trash before you hear the bell as there are wild dogs everywhere and they will get into the trash causing a mess.
