Nice gardens outside and plenty of parking

Paid extra to stay in the bit with bedroom/bathroom/kitchen/living room. Heating wasn't controlled from within the room and was turned off at night leaving us freezing cold. Jacuzzi bath was full of rose petals from previous guests. No fridge. Everything needs modernising and decorating. Breakfast was poor for the price.

The garden

The room was poor, wc and washbasin in a cupboard, old non working shower, stain on duvet cover, old dirty lace curtain, room not big enough for the bed. Unhelpful staff. I stated that I would not pay extra for breakfast but they put it on my Barclaycard anyway without my permission.

The breakfast was excellent, service was brilliant and the location was great

It was very convenient for visiting family. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble.

The lovely welcome given to our two doggies as well as ourselves. Food was fantastic and plentiful. Lovely room with a garden view, powerful shower and original features. Will definitely visit again

over attentive staff kept texting me every 10 minutes asking if I needed anything. plumbing was broken so no radiators or hot water, except electric shower and a couple of tiny oil heaters. Room was freezing. Toilet and basin hidden away in a tiny cupboard. Noisy party below my room. music stopped at 11 but guests were shouting until 1am. No one seemed to be asking them to respect the guests. The Indian dish I ate was very bland. This is clearly a party venue rather than a place to stay for a good nights sleep.

Very well looked after and I enjoyed a very good Indian Meal in the restaurant, Breakfast was very good

Nothing to dislike

Staff were friendly and approachable.

The cleanliness, or lack of, was dreadful. I came back from a long shift at the local hospital to find hairs in both the sink and the bed. Also, when walking past the restaurant I noticed that tables hadn't been cleaned despite the restaurant being empty. The stairs leading up to my room clearly hadn't seen a hoover in a while. To top things off, the room that I was 'upgraded' too had cobwebs all over the ceiling. This place is listed as a 4 star hotel on Google, how they can legally make this claim is beyond me. It also bills itself as a wedding venue, I pity the couple that chooses this place to mark the beginning of their lives together. However, if you fancy someone else's hairs in your bed on your wedding night then it's as good a place as any!
