The proximity to the Venice Boardwalk was nice.

I was placed in a 12×12 cell with no view. It was so small, we had to keep our stuff on the bed in order to look through our bags. The restroom was tiny too. I hit my head on the corner of the glass shelf over the sink, twice, while using the toilet. We had random people looking into our room as they walked by. The rules are posted everywhere. Quiet time after 10. If you soil the linens you buy them. The roof has no appeal. There was only one, tiny, fire pit and somebody was using it. No continental breakfast. The heater in the room didn't work. The mini fridge door kept popping open. To top it all off, the wind was blowing out of control. It was the coolest is been in years. The outdoor restaurants were pointless. Everybody packed up and closed shop early on the boardwalk. This was our Valentine's get away from our six kids. All we did was throw away $275. I live 25 miles away and my house has a heater. We should have stayed home. But honestly, it's Booking.com that made the whole stay pointless. We couldn't see what room we'd be getting ahead of time. The number listed for the hotel was a third party number. They said we had to reserve through booking.com. The rooms were not advertised properly. That's how they tricked us into paying so much for that room. If I had called the hotel directly, I could have had that room for $170 and I could have chosen a room with a view.

That it was on the beach.

The hotelier was very un helpful. Very non understanding for people with different needs. He told us to park else where and being from a different country not knowing where to park we got a fine. And he pretty much shrugged his shoulders and didnt care. We had just had an operation and un able to lift heavy things... in all other hotels we have stayed in people are happy to help but here he made a big deal to help us with the bags... We asked for a jug to heat some water and all we got was """uhhh... we dont carry those here"" i mean who doesnt have a jug to heat water for the people staying at the hotel... Very bad stay very un happy and having to pay a $98 fine because of the hoteliers bad advice.. I consider he should pay for that fine.

The location is great

The reason I give it a one star review is the room that I had was so small. The Internet did not work in that room, and the heat did not work in that room. It was very cold in California due to the rain storms and I needed to have the heat on and I work from my hotel room and I needed the Internet so I had to leave early and I still have not received a reimbursement for the days that I did not stay at this hotel. I feel like if you book on Booking.com, you get the worst room in the hotel.

no one told us there’s no parking on-site. the toilet broke last night and no one was around. there’s no public baths inside ether.

Extremely friendly staff. Location exactly on the beach. A lot of rest area - on the ground and on the roof top. Parking available with prior booking. I felt safe there.

Pictures of “hotel” deceiving. Rooms so small had to leave some luggage in car. No chair to even sit in to watch TV or read. More like a motel but $420 a night not even close to a normal “hotel”. Never again.

Needs updating. bathroom is tiny. mattress is hard. several flies in the room and a spider. floor was dirty and sticky.
