They refunded the room without issue, as we had to leave.
The room we were given was under renovation and not livable. The window was 2 panes and the inside one was shattered with sharp exposed glass. there was no air exchange of any kind in the room and fire alarms were removed. Ceiling panels were removed and the shower was very dirty. They let us check a different room to move to, but that room was also very dirty and all the furniture was spread out with one mattress flipped on the floor and the other had dirt on it. We had to leave the hotel as they had no livable rooms

the breakfast had lots of choice. quite adequate for a free breakfast and helpful for just getting back on the road. the rooms were clean, white sheets and duvets that looked and felt fresh. the hallways and public areas like elevators could use a bit more cleaning. it was good for our purposes which was to crash out while heading up to whitehorse.
we arrived at the back parking lot and it looked very rundown from the back, and i wondered what i had gotten us into. but it was much better when we arrived around the front, big welcoming lobby etc. booking.com said our special request was approved for a dog friendly room and there would be no extra charge... but the desk people said they always charge $25. which seems reasonable. booking.com and the hotel should figure this out.

Location comfy bed and price
Been woke up at 9:30 by housekeeping entering my room when checkout is 11. And then having the loudest phone conversation in history just to make sure I couldn't get back to sleep

Bathroom vent was Very dirty; therefore attention not paid to the small details.
Coffee maker did not work. When I called about it, it took 3 calls several minutes apart before someone answered the phone. I had to explain that I wanted a replacement coffee maker; would have thought that would be the obvious reason for the call. Replacement coffee maker did not work either. Looking around the building, it’s obvious that money is not being spent on upkeep; ceiling vent in elevator has a large chunk out of it, painting needs to be done outside.

Central location; kind and helpful staff who were genuine in their duties and very friendly and personable. The people were the best part, followed by an unexpectedly complete breakfast buffet which was fresh and generous in choices.
Occasionally had to put trash in hallway for collection.

The attention to detail when cleaning was not there. The bathroom was dirty with black marks on the wall, water (I hope) drips on the wall around the toilet. The tub saround had a build up of grime (that I wiped off with a face cloth) around it. The box spring cover has dirt marks all over the outer area. The hall way (4th floor) smelled like a Sewer. Hall way garbage was not changed in the 3 days I was there (it had diapers in it! Breakfast options were not good. Bacon done in a microwave, toast, or cereal with no bowls..... the staff were hard to speak to and kept saying huh or what. Then at check out they said they could not give me an invoice or receipt and my fee was confidential.

The buffet was appreciated but lacking. The eggs were powdered eggs (I think) the potatoes were bland and the bacon was salty. The staff were good but the breakfast was missing the waffle maker and some fruit salad. Other than these things, the stay was great and I will stay again.
