The breakfast was very good. Clean, well stocked, and everything tasted great. Each time I interacted with the front desk staff, they were helpful, kind, and went out of their way to assist me. I was especially impressed with the young lady who initially checked me in. I arrived later in the evening and a man walked in behind me as I was finishing up the check in process. He stood back at a safe distance but was still within earshot. Jessica, the employee, made sure not to reveal which side of the building or which floor I was staying on when she gave me my final instructions and keys. I hadn't considered the need for this, but was so grateful when I realized what she had done. Then entrance and breakfast seating area were clean, well lit, and staff was very friendly.

Multuple lightbulbs were out in my room and one of the light fixtures was not working at all. My room was on the ground floor with the only window right next to and facing the street. Because of this, I didn't feel comfortable opening the curtains to let sunlight in. Overall, my room was quite dark and fairly dismal. The toilet did not flush consistently. It did eventually drain, so it was usable. The couch in my room was old and droopy. It looked like it had been an unwilling participant to a lot of questionable activity and I chose to never sit on it. This left only the rolling desk chair for seating. This too was broken and leaned uncomfortably to the left. The eating area was bright and clean during the day, but the lights were turned off after breakfast, leaving no common area to sit in the evening. In the evenings, my room smelled like cigarette smoke. This could have been because I was right next to the side entrance and designated smoking area. More noticable though, was the strong smell of marijuana that seemed to be coming from the propped open door of the employee workroom, two doors down from mine. My key card stopped working twice during my 4 night, 5 day stay. Once when I came out early morning to quickly grab coffee while I was on hold to start a business conference call. The call started and I had to ask my employer to wait while I returned to the counter to have my key reactivated. The second time, I was stuck outside of the building at night. There were homeless individuals on the biking/walking trail and in the gazebo right next to the sidedoor I was unable to enter. I had to walk around to the front entrance in the dark with my arms full and have my key reactivated.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming

Free Breakfast was nice.

Had to call the police on the people across the hall from me. There was an awful domestic violence dispute all in front of a screaming two year old girl. It was an awful, stressful night. The hotel did nothing to make me and my pregnant wife feel safe. If I was a hotel manager, I would think it would be the very least to offer a comp for the nights stay.
