I would say it needs a deep clean but even the kitchen floor was dirty and a good mop would do the job. overall the cleaning wasn’t good

Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and a lovely location. Swimming pool is good for lounging around in and if you are a swimmer then you have the ocean at the end of the garden. The condos are two storey, and we were in a lower condo, so were a bit concerned that family above us might be noisy - but never heard them once. Location is also great - there is an ABC store about a two minute walk away (for your morning coffee or essentials), or it is a quick drive to a Safeway or Times Supermarket, along with usual strip malls etc. Oceanarium is a 5 minute drive away, as is the harbour where a lot of the snorkling / fishing tours set off from. Office for the condos is open from 9am weekdays if you do encounter any problems. We only needed to contact them once and they were very nice, especially considered that we were asking a really dumb question! They kept us informed as there was some minor maintenance taking place on one day of our stay.

It's right on the beach.

The beach isn't great for swimming. The water is murky so you can't see anything with a mask and snorkel. Plan on driving somewhere else to go to the beach.

Aloho! Access to the beach was great as was the beach facing lawn area. The smaller sense of community of visitors/residents feels more like home. This was not our first stay at Kihai Kai and we were truly looking forward to returning to a welcoming and comfortable setting. Overall our visit to the island was happy and we look forward to our next!

The Unit was dirty inside and out. We spent a few hours cleaning before settling in. Some areas like the bedroom dysfunctional window blinds, window sill and closet we simply avoided. The unit felt neglected and tired. The lighting was not easy to work with. The pullout bed mattress was thin, old, discolored and lumpy. The kitchen knives were limited, dangerously and uselessly dull. There was a timer on the main room AC unit that made it necessary to get up in the middle of each night to reset. Otherwise the unit was stuffy and hot. The ancient bedroom AC unit stopped working on our first sleepless night. A mediocre temporary unit was installed to tide us over the next day. Though the new unit was underpowered and poorly installed though we felt grateful for their attention and to glad to have something. Highway and street noise late at night and early in the morning even with the AC on in the bedroom. The porch sunshade, which was vital to keep the place from overheating in the afternoons, broke on the second afternoon. Since that happened after the office closed on a Friday it was not attended to until later the next week. From then on we put our focus was away from Kihai Kai, ignoring any inconveniences to revel in the wonder and glory of being in Maui. Mahalo! At the airport, we realized that we forgot to pack something dear leaving it on the bed. We contacted the property manager that same day with a detailed description and asking that it be discovered. We also offered to pay for any cost of shipping it to us. The next day a text reply said initial response saying they would look for it. Numerous additional texts calls and emails sent the next day and over subsequent weeks later went unanswered. Each time we contacted the office at Kihai Kai we left a detailed message requesting a call back. We still have heard nothing. We have waited almost four weeks to hear from them hoping to leave a more favorable review. Alas!

The most amazing location! Right on a stunning beach with amazing snorkelling. We also did a lot of paddleboarding. Sunset on the grass by the beach right in front of the condo every night! The unit had everything you could possibly need, large wardrobe, kitchen was well equipped, comfortable seating area and balcony. Hard to beat

the furniture on the balcony was really quite dirty and you didn't feel you could sit there without giving it a really good clean first. Balcony was a bit cluttered with stuff so wasn't quite the relaxing place it could have been. Quite a distance from all the restaurants and bar, this didn't bother us too much but a consideration if you want to eat out in the evenings.

The location was great. We were literally a 15 second walk to the beach. We had our own little beachfront area dedicated to our condo complex. Keyless entry was also great. We didn't have to worry about the key to the room. We had a washer and dryer on site which was helpful. The bed was super comfortable. Lani had a partial view to the beach.

The actual condo was super dated (80s). The entire condo needed updating. The furnishings in the living room weren't too bad. They were comfortable and pleasant on the eye. The fan in the living room was broken. The TV picture and audio went out so we couldn't listen to music or watch TV in the living room in the evening. And it took a couple of days to get it fixed.

Everything was perfect and the location was exceptional. We didn’t leave other than to eat and explore but kept coming back to hang out on the property and enjoy the beach!

Access and entry were simple with a coded lock. Loved the location as it backed up right to the beach.

Shower head was a bit moldy. Bathroom sink had a sluggish drain.

Fantastic location-so cool to hear the ocean from the condo. It was nice to walk to a few small shops. And it was short drive to a big grocery store and lots of good restaurants. We liked sitting on the patio too. Glad there was air conditioning! It was a comfortable place to stay and quiet too!! We loved Maui and Kihei!

It’s a bit shabby looking and needs redecorating, maybe new bath and kitchen. The tv is very small! The pool is very small so if you have kids who like to swim,this may not be a good choice

Directly on the beach. Nice patio and lawn between the beach and the building with BBQ grill, tables and chair. Beach accessories available (chairs, body boards).

Not a big issue but there is no dishwasher in the unit we had.

This condos are located in a perfect central spot in the island. Nice beach with good view for sunset The room was so clean and well maintained Keyless entry worked perfect and really convenient The unit was stocked with all the basic needs

The condo is very nice, with a swimming pool and access to Sugar beach. The apartment was big with a kitchenette, living room with balcony, double room and bathroom. We did self check in with a door code, no need to meet anyone at reception.

The furniture and the bathroom could be refreshed.

Near to the airport

The mattress is old and the couch not to mentioned the comforter of the bed was duty and look like blood

Beach front access. Keyless access, so we could get in even past check in hours. The condos had well equipped kitchens which made it feel like a home away from home. The foot washing/shower area was SUPER helpful in getting cleaned up from the beach. Bonus the rooms had AC.

There was limited space for hanging clothes and the bedding on the pull out couch was dirtry.

The beach is just steps away from the condo units. It has a very homey vibe. Our condo was very clean and recently updated.

I was disappointed our particular unit didn’t have a view. It also would have been great to have a small washer/dryer in each unit.

Everything needed was available

Great location, I stay in #4 Garden view but I could partially see the ocean from lanai. Everything was clean. Basic cleaning supplies were available such as dish soap, desinfecting wipes. In kitchen you have all dishes and pans needed to cook, blender, toaster, etc. ( including cooking supplies, cooking oil, salt, spices,napkings etc). Outside there are grills available, 1 near swimming pool and the other one in patio with full ocean view. There is one farmers market and souvenir store at walking distance from condominiums. I had no interaction with staff since I used a code to enter room, no need to check in with staff members. I loved my stay at Kihei Kai Condos.

The only thing it was ok was the sofa bed, matress needs to be replace. It was a little uncomfortable.
