STAFF: So very kind and helpful right from the start. Easy pre-check in made it much quicker to get our room key. ROOM: Very clean and a great value. Ugly carpet is about the only negative I have for our entire stay. Microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer and the usual toiletries. Excellent maid service! So sweet and helpful. THE POOL: It bears repeating. THE POOL: It's an adult-who-suffers-from-joint-pain's dream. Salt water as warm as a bathtub. Only thing missing is the Calgon. It's a small pool but not too small to have fun. Goes to 5 ft and has steps for old people like me. BREAKFAST: Pretty typical hotel fare except that it was fully stocked and immaculate and one of the many staff members was there being helpful and attentive. They have a Jetson's style pancake maker that was really cool. You can watch the machine make and cook you 2 perfect cakes and drop them on your plate. They also have a big pot of oats with toppings including sliced almonds. So good. In conclusion, my kids/grandkids moved to Iowa a few years back and I've finally found my go to hotel. Fantastic stay!

The location was great, that is the reason that we chose the hotel.

Our party stayed at the Best Western in Altoona, close to Adventureland. It was me, my 2 adult girls and 4 grandkids. Thankfully, the kids wanted to stay in my room, because my grown daughters stayed in a room by themselves and woke up to a strange man standing in their room smiling at them. My oldest daughter demanded to know what he was doing and how he got in their room and he told them he was doing room checks (at 10:00 at night). We had to file a police report, the manager at the hotel was never available to speak to us, instead he sent us a check for the room. Very shady and unsafe!!

Bathroom sink was nice for my husband as he is almost 6 feet tall. I liked the look of the bathroom sink and counter top in there.

Computer didn’t work- not enough room in dining area and food offered was subpar. Had a dirty towel in bathroom and it looked like someone wiped their butt on it. Pillows were lumpy and bed was not comfortable.

Outdated, hard to find staff never any towels ,pool area very dirty never was cleaned whole weekend ,the continental brkfst ,was bad biscuits were hard as a rock ,gravy was cold ran out of eggs and batter for pancakes took 10 minutes for someone to finally come restock .the rooms were very small .our bed sheets felt damp the beds were very uncomfortable as were the pillows and carpert is old and coming up ..killed 1 bug in the shower not sure what it was.will not be back unless some major updates happen
