Super clean, comfy bedding & yummy continental breakast with bacon & eggs if you prefer. Paul is a gracious host providing wonderful hospitality. The home is a beautiful gem. We loved
learning about its history while exploring the New Bedford -Fairhaven area. We found it to be the perfect place to stay to visit the Whaling Museum.

Spires, steeples and turrets decorate the area around the Delano Homestead. The Town Hall,( built by Richardson of Trinity Church, Copley Square fame) the George H. Taber Masonic Building, the Unitarian Memorial Church, the public high school (which looks like Hogwarts, the Tabitha Inn, the Millicent Library, ( built like an Italian Renaissance Palazzo) with many beautiful homes throughout (like the Delano Homestead!)
The Delano Homestead was the home of FDR’s maternal grandfather, who made his fortune in shipping and the opium trade. There were many books of the people and places of the New Bedford whaling area. Our host was knowledgeable about the history, families that built Fairhaven and the New Bedford whaling and fishing lore.
The host and assistant were absolutely lovely.
A breakfast in the palatial dining room with French toast, eggs and good coffee. A pantry was made available to us at any time, stocked with fruit and pastries
The king bed was like sleeping on a cloud, not too soft or hard.There were three beautiful windows that had panel shutters to keep out light or cold. There was a fireplace and amber lighting . This surely was a wonderful place to get stuck in a snowstorm! .

We had two perfect days / nights at Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast. Our hosts Paul and Sharyn fulfilled our every wish. The house and our room were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We had delicious breakfast and even had very special guests in the garden one morning: turkeys! We would travel to Fairhaven again at any time and can recommend the Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast! Thank you Sharyn and Paul for this great time with you. See you soon (hopefully)

Lovely property and great location! Enjoyed learning about the history of the homestead. Breakfast was delicious. This is a great option if you need a place to stay before taking the ferry over to Cuttyhunk as it's very close to New Bedford and the ferry dock.

We loved the beautiful house and neighborhood. Sharon and Paul were very friendly and the breakfast was an added bonus.

Loved the history, the lovely and gracious hospitality, and the most comforting beds. Met very nice and interesting people at delicious and accommodating breakfast. Loved our host Paul and his staff Sharyn and Lizzie.

The breakfast was so good and we were full until the afternoon, Liz is an excellent cook. The place is so quiet, which we like for a vacation, and it is near to the places we wanted to go. Paul is very accomodating and there was a booklet in the room with suggestions of the places to go and where to eat. We found it very helpful❤️ we will be back!

The building and the garden were beautifull and well kept. The rooms were spacious and nicely furnished. The service was good. The history of the house was interesting.

Awesome house with a lot of history to it. Beautifully kept and decorated. Bed was great and we had a huge bathroom for ourselfs. Thanks to Paul for the warm welcome and the awesome tips & suggestions. We also really liked the detailled info that was in the room about excursions, food, history, .. Extra credits for Liz, who made a killer breakfast everyday. Wish I had a Liz at home! So good, we usually didn’t eat again until the evening because we were so full.

The Delano was wonderful. Liz was fantastic and made a delicious breakfast spread. The location was perfect, great neighborhood walking distance to a lot of spots to eat and a wonderful coffee shop around the corner. The bed was incredibly comfy and the room was lovely and huge. The homestead itself is charming and you can feel the history. And we met some lovely folks at breakfast also staying there. We loved our stay.
Only couple comments that don't change my review but, there was no key to our door which was weird. Did we miss it? I don't think so. I guess it's just a really safe neighborhood but that made us a bit uneasy. Also the bathroom was not en suite, we were the only ones using it so didn't bother us but not everyone is cool with that so fyi. Not sure if the other rooms have en suite.

We loved the room and the bed it was fantastic. We loved the breakfast and entire experience. It was the most romantic place we've ever stayed. Kudos to the Delano House and cheers to Paul and Liz!!

Delano is in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Full of history and beauty. The accommodations were more than wonderful, and the staff is great! Lizzy made us feel at home and was a terrific cook! She made several suggestions for places to dine, and local places she thought we would enjoy and she was absolutely right!
Loved our cozy room and comfortable bed! Looking forward to visiting again!. 1000 times better than any hotel in the area. ❤️❤️❤️
