La Casina exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely perfect for our family of 4, and would be ideal for 2 couples, as well. The kitchen had all that it needed, the living/dining areas were comfortable, and the en suite bed/baths were wonderful. As if that wasn’t enough, the outside courtyard area complete with another dining table and a plethora of choices for seating was beyond anything I had envisioned within the walls of Lucca. (It’s positively magical at night with the beautiful up-lighting). But above all of the physical attributes of this lovely apartment, the service from Lucca Apartments and Villas, specifically Manuel, made our stay. His welcome, local recommendations and suggestions and service throughout the week exceeded our expectations. We endured a family tragedy whilst in Lucca and the outpouring of empathy and support from these wonderful people will never be forgotten. Nothing.

The property is absolutely stunning both inside and in the garden. One of the best places we have stayed in. Close to all the shops and restaurants and within walking distance of the train station The aircon was very welcome and loved the attention to detail by the owner.

What an amazing place. We’ve visited Lucca several times before but this was the first time within the walls in an apartment. Exceptional service from booking the apartment to sadly leaving the apartment. Sonia met us when we arrived and she was fabulous! She recommended the transport company & they were so efficient & friendly. Sonia showed us around the apartment and gave us some extremely useful information. The staff were attentive and professional and dealt with all my enquiries. What a great service. The apartment was amazing! We even dined in on a couple of the nights because the garden was so beautiful and dreamy. We will certainly be back and most definitely be booking our next accommodation through v&a!!! Not a thing!

The apartment is beautiful and very well appointed. It is situated in the perfect location to enjoy the city of Lucca and all it has to offer. It is very easy to walk out to the many wonderful trattorias and restaurants which are close by as are the walls a 2-5 minute walk. We loved returning to to it after a busy day exploring. The gardens are stunning and very well maintained and the interior is furnished to an extremely high standard. We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely recommend and return. Lucca is a real hidden gem in Tuscany and a wonderful base to visit other parts of the region.

Die Wohnung war wie auf den Bildern beschrieben. Sehr toller Standard es war alles da was man braucht. Die Lage war Top innen der Mauer. Nur 5 min gehen und man ist im Trubel. Wir hatten eine tolle Woche.

This apartment was one of the best Airbnb’s we have ever stayed in. The design was fantastic as was the ability to have your own private outside space in a town like Lucca. We loved riding the bikes around the walls. The bed was so comfortable and it was lovely to have a large tv in the bedroom. Sonia gave us a great welcome and some top tips. So many lovely touches

he most beautiful apartment we’ve ever stayed in, can’t recommend it enough. We stayed for 5 nights as an anniversary trip after getting married in Lucca the previous year. Sonia greeted us warmly on arrival and showed us around. The space is just outstanding and feels super luxurious. The huge garden is beautiful to relax in with the sound of the fountain in the background. There were two bikes in the garden which we made good use of to explore. It was super hot when we stayed during August so the air con was very welcome. Sidrak and Sonia were on hand to answer queries within minutes and the house literally has anything you could need. Just such a beautiful place.

The rental was both beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen had everything a cook would need. The bedroom was spacious and the master bath was huge and ultra modern. We were there in the winter and couldn’t enjoy the beautiful gardens. We will be back!

This apartment is just beautiful inside and out. The apartment is well stocked in the kitchen, laundry and bath. The sitting areas inside and out and just stunning. This is a little oasis in the city. It is quiet at night and the courtyard area is so tranquil with it's fountain, lemon trees, and gardens. There are 2 bikes available to be used. The location is so convenient to everything...shops, mini markets, restaurants...just a 5 minute walk to everything you need. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!

La Casina is a beautiful, luxury apartment set over two floors, with the added benefit of a stunning, private garden within the city walls of Lucca. The apartment itself was immaculate, beautifully furnished and equipped with quality equipment and everything you could ever need for a short or a longer stay. We stayed for only four nights, but could want for nothing and would happily visit again for a longer period of time. The apartment is very spacious with exquisite accessories, candles, chandeliers, books and ornaments. The garden was an added bonus. We could not believe that we had exclusive use of it. It was so peaceful and we loved enjoying a leisurely breakfast and freshly made coffee at the sheltered table before a day of wandering around the lovely city of Lucca. In the evening, it was fabulous to be able to sit outside in the late sunshine, or by candlelight later on in the evening, enjoying a glass (or two!) of wine, listening to the birdsong and the distant hum of the city. The lemon trees, the pomegranate tree and the flowers and greenery of the garden just added to the scents, the sounds and the whole ambiance of this lovely apartment. The location of the apartment is perfect - a residential area, but right in the heart of the city, with restaurants, shops and bars within a very short walk. Mrs Sonia is a lovely lady who would do everything she can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. There is a really helpful book of information which she has put together, including everything you could wish to know about the apartment, the city and things to do in the surrounding area, including restaurants, bars, shopping, excursions, places to visit either nearby or further afield, transport, taxis, etc. We would return in a heartbeat. Beautiful and convenient, inside the walls of Lucca. We used the provided bikes every day to get around and to circle around on the wall—so much fun. We parked outside the walls near Porto San Donato, and it was a quick walk (even quicker bike ride) to feed the parking meter every day. Great restaurants are close by, and Ms. Sonia and colleagues are super helpful. Washer and drying racks were great, and cooking in was easy; breakfast on the patio every day. The master shower and bathtub are amazing (although second shower and bathroom are teeny tiny) and AC was a blessing. Thanks for a wonderful stay in your beautiful city.

La Casina is a beautiful apartment with a lovely garden. The Appartment is decorated and fitted to a very high standard and and well equipped if you want to eat in, however we took advantage of the many good restaurants nearby.The bikes provided are a real bonus and we used them extensively to explore the city. We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation on returning in the future

We met the owner who is very thoughtful and kind. It was a pleasure to meet and speak with him and receive the gift he brought us. A very professional service was offered by both Mrs Sonia and the property owner. We cannot wait to return.

La Casina was even better than we had hoped: an exquisitely furnished, completely updated and thoroughly comfortable interior embedded in a spacious, private and equally well-designed courtyard garden, with two bicycles and a very convenient location to boot. After a month of touring, we needed a luxurious retreat, and Mrs. Sonia provided it in full. Lucca is a wonderful city in and of itself, but also offers easy access to a diverse and interesting surrounding region. We found all of Mrs. Sonia’s recommendations for restaurants, activities and day trips to be right on the mark. Count us as completely satisfied visitors who left ready to return.

my wife Judith & myself stayed for 8 nights at la casina,it was heaven,the apartment was perfect a wonderful kitchen,amazing bathroom,a wonderful bed.the 2 bikes were a godsend but everything is within walking distance.mrs Sonia met us at the apartment and was a excellent host again my wife will be using the apartment again next year and hopefully for many years to come.thank you mrs Sonia for a wonderful stay.

To explore "the secrets of Lucca" during the three wintery weeks of February 2018, one cannot imagine a more splendid place than the apartment La Casina owned and managed by Sonia. The beautiful apartment was furnished with style and offered comfort in every way. Sonia and her husband were very helpful and nice. The apartment gave us the feeling that we really lived in Luc-ca, and were inhabitants there. The view over the magnificent manicured garden opened a most splendid view with a room - and the apartment itself was more than a room with a view! Thanks for Italian hospitality - and waiting to come back next year.

Staying here was brilliant! The location was perfect for us, with a private antique garden for our exclusive use, very peaceful. This is the most stunning property I have ever seen in 15 years and the price that they rent it for is extremely convenient for what you get. The whole apartment is decorated to a high standard in a very tasteful way showing the artistic flair of the owner. The bath tub was great for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. Lucca Apartments and Villas is a great agency to rent from and Mrs Sonia gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived and were very happy to help with any questions we had, they even oranges bicycles for us, although we didn't use them much. We met the owner during our stay when he came to bring us a bottle of his own made wine: we felt very welcome. The apartment is decorated to a very high standard and was equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Would definitely recommend this place!

Allan and I are back home and I just wanted to write to thank you for everything. We loved the place and it was very much our style — If I lived in Lucca I would want to live in a place just like that! Thank you also for telling me about the porcini salad in the Garfagnana. We went to a very small place in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and ate at a large table with locals and other visitors. They just kept bringing food - local cheeses, vegetables, meats - all delicious - and then the woman serving us came up to me and said: ‘possibility d’insalata con porcini’ . I said yes right away knowing that it would be just as you described: fresh porcini mushrooms, sliced with a bit of oil — and that’s exactly what it was. Truly special! We also ate very well at Da Francesco. The food was delicious and the owner is cara and couldn’t do enough to please us. I have never tasted rabbit like the grey rabbit she served us. We went to some of the take out places you recommended too and we ate very well. If ever we are lucky to travel to Lucca again, I will contact you!

Perfect apartment for a memorable and relaxing holiday! Sonia was very informative and helpful during our booking, prior to our visit and during our stay, great host. The staff of Lucca apartments and Villas (including Cristina our hired chef) are extremely friendly, they gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived and were fantastic throughout our trip, they really added to the experience and made us feel at home. The apartment was absolutely beautiful, exactly like the photos that made us fall in love with the place. Very nicely decorated and very clean...and the tub was perfect for relaxing in during the evenings and generally recharging our batteries! The location is great, beautiful architecture and original farmhouse features but inside the old town of Lucca, next to a beautiful cathedral and very close to the La Buca restaurant which was lovely. We loved being outside in our own garden and getting a feel for the more genuine Italian way of life, including making use of the mineral water at the fountain along the street, gorgeous! In general we had a terrific few days, the apartment was very comfortable and homely. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful taste of Italy and would love to visit again!
