We stayed at Chris’ place for the Sugarloaf Marathon weekend and had a really great time. It is easy to walk everywhere on the mountain and was comfortable for 4 adults, and could have easily fit more!

We had a group of 9, and the rental was perfect. Very clean, well maintained and the beds were all really comfortable. Location is an easy five minute walk to the lodge, restaurants and shops.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Walked to the lifts. Spent time at the nearby fitness center. Everything at condo as described. Owners personable and responsive.

Amazing views of the mountain. Steps to the snubber trail. Quiet warm top unit and plenty of beds and space for whole family. New couch and furniture is a plus! Quick and easy communication with owner. We will stay here again, thank you!

Went up to Maine to do some hiking with friends. Right at the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain. This place was comfortable and clean a great place to use as a base for our hiking.

Our group of 8 had a great time. Plenty of hiking trails around. The coast is about a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive. The outdoor center near is a little outrageous on their prices for pool/ hot tub usages. All in all a great stay during nonpeak times.

Our family consisted of four adults and two children ages 8 and 10. We spent 2 nights in this lovely condo and had a wonderful stay. The owner communicated right away when I had a question about the parking pass. Overall the condo was very nice. It's a little dated, but we could tell the owners have partially renovated it. This did not detract from the comfort though! The only problem with the layout is that both adult rooms share a bathroom while the kids' bunk room had its own facilities. In order for my sister and her husband not to feel awkward sharing a bathroom with us, they had to trek up two flights of stairs to use the bathroom with their kids. This wasn't a huge deal but might have gotten old with a longer stay. The downstairs bathroom needed a quick spritzer before we used the shower, and I dug around for two light bulbs for the upstairs bathroom which needed replacing. Otherwise everything was spot on. One of the other condo owners had rented their unit to what seemed like a college fraternity who were having a party the night we arrived. We could hear them well into the night which was a little aggravating. Obviously this was out of the control of the owners of this condo. Otherwise there didn't seem to be anyone staying in the other units. The college guys left the next day so it was quiet our second night. We could walk through the tall grass up a short hill behind the condo to one of the Sugarloaf parking areas from which it was a short walk to the base area. Sadly there were hardly any people at the resort, and the scenic lift rides were not operational. We hiked up one of the ski runs and had lunch at a small tavern at the base. Our stay was very enjoyable. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to share your home even if briefly!

We arrived at the condo to find it very dirty. There were fruit loops on the floor, tissues or napkins under the coach, the kitchen floor was sticky and the downstairs bathroom was gross. There was also a lot of food and alcohol from a previous guest left behind. Two points of caution for future guests. 1. There is no air conditioning. It was stifling hot even with the windows open. 2. Make sure to buy the insurance. We were grateful we did. The owner made a claim for insurance claiming an alleged stain on the couch (we have lots of pictures with no evidence of a stain) and a broken coffee table. We actually felt like we left the condo in better condition than we found it! Fortunately, the we had the insurance in place! Despite our disappointment, we had a great weekend. The location is perfect for recreation in all seasons !

5 of us stayed at this property for a friends wedding at the resort. It was spacious, clean, and super cozy. We all commented on how peaceful it was there and how we all felt at home. Would absolutely recommend this to friends and family!

I’ve been renting at Sugarloaf for nearly 20 years and the Birchwood condos are consistently my favorite, and this top-floor unit is top-notch. Perfect on-mountain location, tons of timber frame charm, and plenty of open living space. Owners were easy to deal with and check in/check out was seamless. I’ll be back.

I planned a girls trip and we were all happy with the condo. It was clean and the right amount of space for everyone. We were able to enjoy some shopping and eat out at their local breakfast and restaurant. In all we are looking forward to vacation here in the future

This property was a joy! It’s really just a short climb to the third floor. Parking was a breeze and very close! To ski out, it was just a short walk down the road to the trail. It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen had quality cookware and left very little to be desired.(only one thing we could have used was a colander to strain pasta, but that’s minor!) we would have made nice use of the fireplace but didn't think to bring wood, so I’d recommend folks to pack some! The bed rooms were spacious, and open concept up in the main floor with views of the mountains is everything a person could ask for on a ski trip! Chris was also very responsive to messages which was fantastic! We would for sure stay here again!

Had an amazing time skiing at Sugarloaf. House is perfect for ski on/off trips. Chris and Lauren were great hosts!

Really enjoyed the stay at the condo. We got some extra exercise getting up to the top floor, but it was worth it. The condo was really nice. Getting to the slopes wasn't too difficult, and we appreciated how well kept and clean everything was. Best place we have stayed at in Sugarloaf!

We loved everything about our stay. The space is beautifully rustic and fun. It is well stocked with all the necessities and many comfortable touches. The location is stunning- with views of the mountain from the living room and dining area in the winter. The owners communicated well and were very friendly. This is one of our new favorites- our kids are already requesting a return visit.

We’ve stayed at many condos at sugarloaf and this was by far the best.

Cute house in a great spot!

Such a beautiful spot on the mountain! With all of the beautiful wood interior, and having ample windows on all three floors, we felt like we were staying in a luxurious treehouse! There is ample room, and it had all needed amenities. I’d suggest if vacationing in the summer to bring fans. So much to do nearby. We hiked to a waterfall, swam in the river by the town recreation center, spent time at Sugarloaf’s outstanding golf course, and visited the beautiful Carrabassett Library! Not only can you check out books, but music, games, movies, and puzzles. We enjoyed the area and loved the space! We hope to return yearly!

The condo is beautiful everything is exactly as it says online the property manager is very helpful and responsive overall great experience!

The property was just as advertised. It was clean and comfortable and perfect for a weekend of hiking or skiing in the Sugarloaf area. Driving directions are a bit confusing if using Google Maps (don't for this location). Follow the written directions supplied. I had a simple question for the owner who responded quickly. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Chris's place was perfect for our family and kids! We enjoyed a short walk to the ski hill, the wonderful Maine ambiance (and craft beer) and the short walk to the pool and spa after a day on the slopes. The place is very comfortable and perfect for ski bums like us. The bunk bends were perfect for the four kids, and the adults enjoyed quiet rooms. I would definitively go back again! Thanks! David

The property manager was very responsive and helpful. This place is a sure thing. In summary: Easy parking, Convenient to the slopes, secure ski locker, lots of pegs to hang everything up, washer dryer, two clean up-to-date bathrooms, two efficient heaters AND a wood stove with directions, smart TV, a large cutting board and the sharpest Chicago Cutlery knives ever, full kitchen, post and beam construction, nice view of the mountain from the main living area to monitor conditions in real time, and plenty of space. Sleeps 10. You will want to come back. BTW: A 3-minute walk to the Shipyard Brewhouse (full bar), and the recreation center pool and hot tubs. Your friends/family will thank you!
