Very nice property meet all our needs just as advertised host were easy to work with was a little warm in the afternoons and early evening.

We enjoyed every second at the lodge. It was warm and cozy. We were only 7 but 4 busy kiddos so we all had space to be in. Loved having the kitchen and used it daily even if we were just baking cookies. The game room gave us all some entertainment. I was able to laundry and come home with very few dirty clothes which is a plus when getting home from vacation. Loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

It’s a beautiful cabin with River Access. The Jones’ are very accommodating!

We celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary at the lodge and my sister stayed in the smaller cabin just a short walk between the trees. We had 23 people between both cabins and had plenty of room. The house is also right along the river with amazing views. The kitchen was large enough to cook for all of us as well. The property managers were helpful and answered our questions in a timely manner. We will be back for sure!

Our group of 15 (ages 2 months to adult) stayed at Rio River Retreat for a ski vacation. Melissa and Dan were great hosts and always quick to respond. The place suited us well with a bedroom for each of our kids’ families. We will definitely keep it in mind the next time we stay in South Fork.

This was my second time staying at the Rio River Lodge and it just keeps getting better! Melissa goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable and memorable. Our group had a blast getting to all be together! The location is great and easy to get to Wolf Creek to ski. Overall I highly recommended staying at this charming lodge!

The Rio River Retreat was perfect cabin for our group of 18 for our annual ski trip. The family/game room was perfect for evening family fun and a good hangout space for some that wanted to stay up a bit later than others. The kitchen, living room and dining room were open concept which allowed for us all to be together during meal prep, cooking and dining time! The kitchen had a huge island and double convection ovens which were awesome for meal prep and serving! Melissa has the kitchen stocked so well with appliances, dishes and almost anything you would need. The view out the back of the river and out the front big windows of the mountain were stunning. Since it was winter we did not get to enjoy the beautiful deck and yard space but we guess it is a favorite spot in all the other seasons. This cabin is ina great location in south fork which is close to Wolf Creek. We loved our stay and hope to return again!

There were 11 of us ages 14-72. The main floor had 2 bedrooms, a primary suite and second one with 2 twin beds. There was a large dining area easily seating 12 around a long table, a more than functional kitchen with everything needed to cook a full meal or warm up pizza. Also there was a comfortable living area with 3 couches and 2 recliners for watching football, movies or taking a nap. Second floor had a loft with 3 beds 2 bedrooms with multiple beds and a jACK and jILL bath. All very comfortable. No one had to share a bed unless they wanted to. In the basement, there were 2 bedrooms with multiple beds and a large game room including a pool table, perfect for the kids pool tournament. The property was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Everything was perfect. We left at 6:00am after an 8 inch overnight snowfall. The owner was there before we left to plow the driveway so us Texas flat landers could get out with out a problem. All in all, our trip was as near perfect as can be. With 11 adult size people we were never crowded or feeling cramped and there was plenty of space for individuals or couple to have there alone time. Great property. Highly recommend it.

This is the second year in a row that we have taken a group of 30 people out to the lodge and cabin. What a great place to host large groups. The lodge is very nice and always clean when we arrive. Also, the host are amazing people and great to work with! Overall we had an amazing time at rio river retreat and can’t wait to go back next year.

Everything went better than expected. Would do it again.

This was my second stay at the lodge. The first stay was for a mens fishing trip wit 19 guys from my church and my second stay was last week with 15 family members and friends. Both stays were excellent and the property accommodated us very well. Melissa is great about checking in and making sure everything is good or if anything is needed. I will be staying here again soon. Highly recommend this place!

Every year I bring a group of men from our church in Canton Texas to ride our ATV’s and UTV’s in the mountains. We have stayed at this lodge multiple times and will continue to do so for years to come. The river setting, size of the house and sleeping arrangements are perfect for our group. The lodge has always been spotless and ready for our arrival. The location in South Fork is ideal for riding local or a quick trip over to Creede. We also can be in Lake City in just over an hour. After a hard day of riding we typically come back and grill burgers or a steak and relax outside by the river or just sit on the deck admiring the beauty of God’s creation! The owners, Dan and Melissa help make this trip a memorable experience through their kindness and willingness to accommodate your need in every way possible. Your first encounter with them will feel as if you have known them for years. They are very welcoming. This trip and house have become so popular with our church, there is a waiting list for others to be able to come along.

A beautiful log home that’s perfect for large groups and family vacations!!! Very well equipped and peaceful location!!

We had a fun stay at Rio River Retreat! A group of friends got together for a sewing/birthday get together, and it was perfect! Melissa is accommodating and a pleasure to work with. The space is comfy and cozy. A super place to stay!

This was our second stay in this amazing lodge, we love the location and Melissa is amazing!!

The lodge itself is absolutely phenomenal. Rustic is usually a nice way of saying old, run-down, in need of work. But this place has rustic charm and yet is fancy, with well appointed kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. What an amazing experience for our youth group. There were plenty of kitchen supplies to cook and serve our food. And the beds and bedrooms are spread throughout from the top floor down to the basement. We came to ski, but in our down time, there is a pool table, two foosball tables, a nice assortment of board games and card games, and a television with plenty of seating for everyone. The youth were never bored. (BTW, it is less than 30 minutes to Wolf Creek Ski Area.) The property is right on the Rio Grand River, with a fire pit next to it. It made for some nice marshmallow roasting on our last night there. We will definitely return to Rio River Retreat! Thanks Melissa and Dan for a great, memorable experience!

What an amazing experience at Rio River Retreat for our group of 21. There were plenty of kitchen supplies to cook and serve our food. We also appreciated the way the beds and bedrooms are spread throughout the house from the top floor to the main floor to the basement. The games in the basement were also a huge hit for the teenagers. And of course we love the proximity to Wolf Creek Ski Resort!

Cannot say enough about this location. Our hosts had their hands full the first day with new snow but the driveway was plowed and we had no problems. The houses was more than adequate for our family of 20 (my wife and I, children and spouses, and 12 grandchildren). Plenty of room for everyone to collect, play, relax and sleep. Excellent location and well equipped. Great communication from our hosts pre-trip. Helped us feel very comfortable and promptly answered any questions. Also they were responsive to our questions for things that came up during our stay. We are already talking about a return experience.

A bunch of gals spent a weekend quilting and having fun in the area. It was centrally located to all we needed, the neighbori g towns were fun and the scenery was beautiful. The house had everything g you could ask for.

First of all, the lodge is absolutely gorgeous! Melissa and Dan have thought of every amenity you could possibly need, or want. Their property is right on the Rio Grand River, so the views are breathtaking. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and pantry staples. The bedrooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The downstairs game room will be enjoyed by adults and children alike. There is a pool table, 2 foosball tables, a nice assortment of board games and card games, and a tv, with plenty of seating for everyone. The outside areas are so inviting, especially the fire pit area by the river. We will definitely return to Rio River Retreat! It exceeded all our expectations!

We had plenty of room for our men's flyfishing retreat--and the largest fish of the trip was caught right at the resort. :-) Managers were quick to respond to needs. Highly recommend for groups!

This cabin is truly one of a kind! Our local fly fishing club stayed there last August, and have already booked it for August 2022. Spacious is the best way to describe the entire cabin-kitchen, dining area, bedrooms, etc. The cabin is on the Rio Grande, with plenty of outside parking area, as well as space to cook and eat outside. For a large group or family get together, you won't find any place better, and at a reasonable price. The owners are in town and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable.

House and location was everything we were looking for. Very spacious, plenty of room for guest and hanging out. Was perfect for our large group on ski trip and have zero complaints. House was beautiful in a great town with everything need in south fork colorado.

Thank you Dan and Melissa for sharing your lovely home with us. I highly recommend this rental. We booked our stay for a ski trip/winter getaway for family and a few friends. The house is large and spacious and provided plenty of room for everyone. The 3 levels were perfect for giving multiple generations their privacy and space, and we could easily meet up for meals and visiting in the large living/dining room or for games in the basement. The house had everything we needed and Dan and Melissa were close by and available to help. Not only is the house perfect, but the location and view is spectacular. The home is right on the river and the view is gorgeous in all directions. We will definitely return to this beautiful home in South Fork.

We had 9 adults and 5 kids in our group. The house was exactly what we’d hoped. It was large, plenty of beds, very well equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, clean throughout. We will definitely be back!

The house was just right for our family of 17 people. It’s beautifully located on the river.
