Guesthouse Mimbelli is located right at the beach promenade in Orebic. It offers a roofed & shady front terrace, a few dining tables right on the promenade, and a wide & cozy dining terrace (“garden”) in the back yard. That back yard terrace is partially roofed and nicely planted. It includes a charcoal grill where you can watch the hostess herself prepare meat & fish. Its overall atmosphere is extremely cozy & green & chilly in hot weather. The staff is OUTSTANDINGLY nice & friendly. We happened to meet two German speaking young ladies of the family who helped out very friendly when we acted stupidly in a situation. There is quite a familiar atmosphere in this “guesthouse” in the best sense of that word. The menu offers some very attractive dishes, the ingredients that I saw outside of the kitchen looked very fresh and quality, and we do regret that we decided to have dinner elsewhere. However, there are a good handful of bars & restaurants on the promenade in short walking distance, right by the sea. We had – booked on literally last minute – a cozy room right on the top floor. It was named like “romantic room” or “rustique room” or similar. Quite the right place for a couple, first time travelling without kids.

That “rustique” room was not really spacious. Okay to us, but maybe not everyone’s taste. I think it was the shower drain that could have worked more efficient. But everything was hygienically fine. Oh, and just not to miss mentioning: If you travel by a navigation system, you will NEVER find this guesthouse. Its parking lot is a few minutes by feet and can be reached from the main street through extremely narrow alleys ONLY. The parking situation is perfectly okay with us, but a somehow precise map or hints how to find it would have been very helpful.

It was not clear from the reservation info where to park. we tried to drive on a pedestrian street to get there. the lot is very close but hard to find without help from someone who works there.

Although this a guesthouse, the restaurant is excellent and definitely worth having lunch or dinner at. In fact, I think it's a better restaurant than guesthouse but we enjoyed our 2 nights there. The staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and good: eggs, ham, cheese, veggies, coffee, juice yogurt, bread. Both days it was served with a small flourish: a few drops of reduced balsamic vinegar next to the eggs, an aioli the second morning. You can swim across from the guesthouse, walk for miles along the sea and hike in the surrounding hills. We also took the ferry to Korcula to have dinner.

While our room was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom, it was also rather small with a small window that looked on the the back garden/outdoor eating area. We didn't spend much time there except to sleep, which brings us to the other issue: it was noisy in the evening. We heard the music from the restaurant as well as the staff chatting in the stairwell below our room and 2 others.

A perfect location, just steps from the ocean and an easy walk to the ferry to Korcula. Also lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The restaurant and front courtyard were great places to enjoy dinner and breakfast. The staff was especially nice. The rooms and bathrooms were modern.

We had 3 rooms and all were very small, and the Lavender room was VERY purple. The beds are small and there was not much space to layout our suitcases. But the location and staff more than made up for these minor inconveniences.

The staff really made Guesthouse Mimbelli a great place to be - they are very friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good, a couple of the dishes were excellent but/and the proportion sized were enormous (delete as appropriate). It's in a great location as well, with some nice restaurants nearby and the port to Korcula and other islands conveniently close. The nearby trek to Mount Ilija was very enjoyable if you like that kind of thing.

I'd have to say the shower wasn't great (but it was adequate) and the room wasn't massive for what turned out to be a longer stay than anticipated.

The garden where they serve dinner, food is amazing. All the staff and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Music in the garden and entire atmosphere were very nice and relaxing.
