the welcome set the tone: warm and good-humoured. in a great central location, we could abandon the car and walk to explore the town and reach our restaurant. we even managed to enjoy a brief sit in the colourful garden. breakfast was a surprise, kippers were on the menu, which is always a treat for me! we would certainly return to Ivy House.

Would have preferred off street parking but not possible in a place as small as Dolgellau. Better to be central without dedicated parking as easy access to restaurants.

Everything was of a high standard and quality and the personal help and assistance by the owner was exceptional. Well done. Your assistance with my wife's illness was outstanding and is really appreciated.

Parking in the area is a challenge but even this was handled fantastically.

Wonderful B&B just around the corner from the main town square. Comfortable clean room. Full cooked breakfast set us up for the day, great variety available. Duncan was very welcoming, extremely helpful and accommodating with our variety of requests.

great place in the middle of town ,room was tremendous everything that you need .parking for motorcycle was easy and safe, breakfast was a treat served by a young lady who asked what I would like nothing seemed a problem!

Shower room is quite small and a little cramped. Car parking close by is difficult - can do so in a nearby lay-by on a pot-luck basis with a 1 hour time limitation.

A comfortable and extremely clean B & B, although dated in decor this added to the comfort of the place, like going to your Nan’s for a sleepover, and as such it felt so safe and welcoming. Duncan was friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast waitress polite and helpful. Lovely breakfast with additional choices of yoghurts, cereals, hams, etc, plus a delicious fruit compote!

The bathroom facilities have a mechanical flush which makes an awful noise.

Friendly staff but poor standard of service; the place is very old and not well mantained (bathrooms are more modern though); hygiene was not satisfactory (cat in the kitchen, dirty carpets everywhere, no minimal tidying up of the room in the morning). Breakfast served early with a strict 1-hour window and just a very limited choice. One would definitely expect more for the price and the 3 stars.

Quirky but friendly and welcoming host explained where everything in the B&B was and offered good suggestions for parking. Clean en-suite room. Comfortable beds. Excellent location for the town centre! Good hearty breakfast that set us up for the day.

Doesn't have its own parking, but to be fair, that's going to be true of most places to stay in the centre of Dolgellau. Only one set of keys between two adults. Although this seems to be commonplace, it would be SOOO appreciated if a set of keys PER ADULT could be provided. I was not travelling with a romantic partner, we are not joined at the hip, and we have very different body clocks and preferences. It would be appreciated if we could have a set of keys each (even if this service required an additional deposit).

We had stayed for 1 night. Host Duncan was very Welcoming and his Wife friendly, when we saw here at breakfast time. The rooms were adequate and beds very comfortable and warm, hot shower. A good selection of breakfast items to choose from, the full breakfast was well cooked & very tasty indeed.

Personally the downside for me were the decor ie: curtains & carpets throughout (including staircases) being very well used and dated
