We had a wonderful 5 night break at Claire’s villa. The home was spotless, the pool made it such a a fun break for our children and we all had so much space for time together and time apart! Conveniently located and with every amenity we needed we will be recommending to others. Thank you for a beautiful stay.

Property is fantastic. Pictures online do not let you see how large the house is. Beautifully appointed and laid out. While we had teenagers with us, I could see clearly how well equipped the house would be if we’d been there when the kids were toddlers- everything had been thought of for safety and play time for young kids. Pool heating made the holiday for us- we used the pool daily, even on the rainy day! About a 20 min walk into town. Thank you so much to the management company for checking in on us on day 1 and to Louisa for the mid week clean. We had a great break.

The villa is really spacious and clean and has everything you need for a family holdiday (from kids cutlery and plastic plate to toys and travel cots). A big plus for us was that the pool was gated (not common in portugal). The outside space is amazing too - big pool and some garden for the kids to play and run around. The location is handy to explore Luz as well as the Western algarve, I would suggest having a rental car as the property is a bit up a hill (especially when with younger kids & pram). The property manager was easily reachable when we had questions and the check in procedure was very easy.

We had a really lovely stay. The pool is great our 6 year old daughter loved it. The rooms were spacious with lots of storage. The beds were abit hard, could do with changing or mattress covers. Some were very creaky. Over all though we had a lovely holiday , Thankyou !

We had a great time at Casa Lontra. We were surprised upon arriving to see how large it is as the photos do not to it justice at all and I would suggest the owners take new photos and include photos of all the bedrooms. It’s spacious and it really is perfect for families with small children. There were plenty of toys, books, pack n plays, & even an audio monitor if you didn’t bring one. There is a very nice dining room off the living room & the kitchen has most appliances needed to cook there. There was also an assortment of pales and buckets for beach play. The check in process was easy if you follow the instructions & the property managers were easy to reach & responded quickly with our questions. The location is fantastic & is a few minute drive from central Luz and about 15 mins from Lagos. With a few simple changes this rental could be perfect. Upon arriving, we found out that it was bare in terms of the necessities. The toilet rolls were almost empty & there were no extra rolls. There were no paper towels, soap, shampoo or conditioner in the bathrooms & there were no kitchen essentials like salt, pepper or oil. I realize this is a self catering rental but this was probably the most bare rental we have ever rented. It’s nice to have a kitchen & house stocked with at least these kind of essentials. I do give the property managers credit though because when we messaged then they did quickly respond and dropped off paper towels, soap & toilet paper but told us this was an exception so come prepared. The pool was great and really the selling point for us. Be aware though that unless you are there during August you will probably need to pay the $200 fee for heating the pool. We were there in mid-late June and it was too cold for us to swim in so we ended up paying the extra $200. I do think the fee should be broken down into a per day fee rather than a flat fee as it seems odd that a family staying for 4 days pays the same as a family staying for 2 weeks. Also be aware that it takes 48 hours to heat so we were only able to use it for the last three days of our 5 day stay but it was worth it. The only other thing I would recommend is to get softer mattresses. I like firm beds but these were very hard & my son and I ended up sleeping on the couches. Overall though, this a great rental and if the owners make a few changes it would be close to perfect.

Lovely property, well equipped, lovely pool set in pleasant and private gardens. Apart from a vague map I am not aware of any information regarding entry other than the villa would be available from 4pm and therefore expected someone waiting to welcome us. Spent ages finding the property. If the name Casa Lontra and been on the property or even the street name and number, this would have helped. We spoke to a resident two doors along from the property who had never heard of Casa Lontra. Also spoke to the odd passer by to no avail. My son daughter and daughter in law spent ages investigating my iPad and there own phones trying look for some means of help. Eventually I took the bull by the horns and walked into two properties the second of which I recognised from your pictures. After about 2 3 hours we eventually found a number in the uk and luckily the call was answered, telling us there was a key safe opposite the door into the villa and giving us the pass code. I am not aware of having received an email with key information regarding access to the property. If however I have missed this please accept my apologies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Lontra and would recommend it for a holiday! ( Apart from the first 3 hours)

The villa was well equipped. The bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for a family holiday. Beautiful and comfortable lounge with great views from the terrace which was ideal for outdoor eating. Good pool but beware concrete steps and bottom. We had a few scraped toes. It was let down by the very hard beds and could have been a bit cleaner.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Lontra - it is so spacious, comfortable and beautiful. It is very well looked after and having someone who calls in is really helpful, the villa rental company even helped with getting covid testing organised! We were helped further by the fantastic weather, and the fact that we had not been able to meet for so long - which made it all the more exciting. Thanks Claire!

We had a wunderful familiy-time (5 adults and one teenager) in Casa Lontra. There house is very spacious, comfortable and extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. In the beginning, the dish-washer didn´t work, but as soon as we reported it, the problem was resolved as fast as possible. The contact to the owner and the agency was easy, either per email or phone. Thank you Claire and Natasha! The house has a beautiful view to the sea, overlooking some rooftops. The terrace and swimming-pool gave us plenty of place to relax. The surroundings are beautiful. It´s about 15 min walk to the beach/village when you go down, a little more when coming back, but most of the way can be done on roads with little traffic. We had a fantastic time! Claudia

Loved the place and where we stayed very well equipped villa

5 adults and 2 under 3s had a fantastic stay. The villa has a great selection of toys that both my children enjoyed playing with. This made travel to the villa and packing for the holiday so much easier as so much is provided for you. The rooms are all contemporary decorated and spacious. The villa has amazing views over looking the sea. The pool area feels nice and safe with the gated access. When we arrived we were informed that the washing machine was broken but a replacement was fitted the next day and a new machine installed the day after. If we had any questions they were quickly answered. The property is only a 10-15 minute down hill walk from the town. It's a bit harder going back in the heat of the day, so other visitors may wish to drive. Lots of family friendly restaurants nearby and I would definitely recommend to friends.

Maybe the title says it all.We really liked to stay at Casa Lontra. The villa is very spacious and the bedrooms are separated from the noises of the living room and kitchen.The nights were quite cold in april but the pool stayed very warm at all the time.The villa is in very peaceful location but the local amenities are still near. The garden and pool are very private.The front yard of the villa is big enough even for parking 9 seater car.Overall we had great time at Casa Lontra and the scenery from the terrace is mindblowing . It was awesome eating breakfast on the terrace and watching Atlantic Ocean.

What's not to love? With three children under 9, this was genuinely the first time in that many years that I'd been able to lie undisturbed and unworried by a pool in the sunshine. The villa is spotless and well cared for with every amenity for young families: it's clear the owners have given this so much thought. With one napping at lunchtime, it was perfectly situated to make a beach trip in the morning, relax on the cool terrace over lunch, and then venture out again later on. We were given lots of personal recommendations which made such a difference: the Pizza place in Burgau on a balmy evening after a sandcastle competition and glass of rose on the beach is an evening I won't forget in a hurry. There were only five of us, but the house would happily have accommodated another five - it felt enormous. My 9-yr celebrated his birthday the week we were there, and when asked what he'd like, replied that he wanted a one-way ticket to Casa Lontra. Which just about says it all. We'll be going again...
