The property was ideal for three generations of a family. It was exactly as described on the internet. All instructions were clear and accurate. That said, we still managed to lock ourselves out of the property! The pool was of a good size and was well used. We worked on the basis that we were wet in the pool so it didn't matter if it was raining when we got out. There were undercover areas to dry in. To be fair most of the rain that we experienced was at night or in the early morning. The accommodation was such that we could be part of the main group or disappear elsewhere for a bit of peace.

Vila Margarida provided our group of seven with a fantastic location for a week of relaxation and exploration of the Luz area. The house had ample room for everyone to have some privacy at the same time as we were able to share some wonderful times around the pool and on the shaded balcony areas. It is a short (but vigorous) walk to Praia da Luz which is a superb beach for swimming and lounging. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped and we were able to prepare our own meals on days when we just wanted to hang out at the house. All in all we were quite happy with our stay at Vila Margarida.

The beautiful Vila Margarida is perfectly located in Praia da Luz. It's facilities are wonderful with lots of space for a group of ten to spread out and have quiet time. The outdoor facilities for cooking are excellent and we used them frequently. We also used the pool and tennis court on a daily basis. The location provides easy access to the town centre and its restaurants/bars as well as the beach. We would definitely consider returning as we had the perfect week. Thank you so much.

We had a great family holiday at Vila Margarida as a party of 10. Prior to arrival any communication from the owner was always quick. The villa is private, spacious with plenty of communal areas and a huge pool (we paid for heating which was worth it) but also we we were impressed with the size of the surrounding pool area and large outdoor shower. The balcony was plenty big enough to all eat an evening meal outside together and had lovely views. The location is within walking distance of the beach and supermarkets and with a little encouragement the kids (5-7) managed the walk uphill back from the beach with ice lolly distractions. While we were there we experienced temperatures of 30 degrees and without air con it was uncomfortably hot. Upon booking we did not notice this. It hit 38 degrees in the bedrooms at night and there was no breeze. I contacted the management company who arranged for 3 fans which were delivered on the same afternoon. Some other suggestions which would improve the experience include replacing some of the worn/ripped sun loungers and the cushion covers on the outdoor furniture, ensuring the shutters are secure enough top and bottom rather than just top and updating the kitchen. Praia da Luz is a beautiful place to visit and we had a wonderful holiday.

Villa superb, online description does not really do it justice very comfortable well enough room for all 11 of us very mixed ages, only little tiny grump was situation was a bit hilly for my wife of 70 but thank goodness for Uber so cheap and prompt. However did not really need to leave the villa as very comfortable lovely garden fantastic pool area with inside and outside dining and lounging areas we were spoilt for choice. Well presented villa in an excellent location of walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants, but in a nice quiet area. Great BBQ area with seating, good sized pool, lovely balcony seating on 1st floor. Great family villa. The owner Fiona, could not have been more helpful with the booking of the villa, assistance regarding taxi’s to & from the airport, car hire recommendations and requirements of things in the villa. Would definitely recommend.

We had a fabulous stay, the villa has all you need for a family/group break away. The outside kitchen is perfect given that the house is upside down and would mean you walking through the house in wet clothes from the pool to the main kitchen. We paid for the pool heating which was well worth it. The only thing that would enhance this villa would be air conditioning but we managed given that there are secure shutters which we closed and left the doors/windows open. The villa is well located, we walked to the beach, restaurants and bars twice a day and didn’t find the incline back to the villa an issue. We would stay again which is always a great sign from 7 fussy travellers.

I had a fabulous week here with my 85 year old mother, my two teenagers and my siblings. Everyone enjoyed this beautiful, spacious and well equipped house. Walking to and from the village was fine for us but not my elderly mum, but catching a taxi was easy using Uber. We ate out a few times and used the restaurants recommended by the villa owner, which were great. Would love to come back here again soon

The Villa was fantastic clean spacious views from balcony was amazing outside space was ideal especially for doing the BBQ pool was great the only thing I was a bit upset about was the walk from the villa to the shops and restaurants I had my wife who has fibromyalgia and my son has a problem with his feet so they have difficulty in walking to and from the villa because it was uphill all the way from the beach and the restaurants so we had to get uber every night to bring us back to the villa so I would say if anyone is disabled or in a wheelchair this is not the place for you the streets are cobbled so it would be a problem pushing a wheelchair especially uphill from the beach or shops

5 mature ladies, celebrating 3 60th birthdays. Villa was exceptionally positioned for walking into Luz, supermarkets, restaurants and coastal walks. Already planning next year!

Lovely villa which perfectly suited our needs - 8 adults and a one-year old. Every conceivable requirement was catered for. The villa is in its own acreage and wonderfully private. We enjoyed the pool and tennis courts, with outdoor barbecue area with wall-to-wall sunshine. One consideration is the return walk from the centre to the villa being uphill which may not suit everyone. Otherwise, we cannot recommend highly enough.

We were four couples looking for a nice getaway and this villa fit the bill. Lots of space, clean, great location and a heated pool for the cooler night time swims. Outdoor kitchen and dining were perfect for bbq's and quiet dinners. Overall a great place.

Villa had everything that was listed. In a quite area not far to walk to beach and resturants. Would recommend.

There were 9 of us, ages from mid 20's to my elderly 89 year old Mum. Mum and I had one of the ground floor rooms that opened onto the pool. The pool is fabulous; we took some floating items and have left them for others to enjoy. We had a great week; the only issue, unfortunately for me was the lift did not work properly. Had contact with the manager of the property and the owner, who were fantastic and cannot fault them at all, very quick and responsive and attempted to have the lift issue sorted. The Villa and furniture are excellent. It's private if you are looking for privacy not overlooked, although not far from entertainment and the beach. We visited the small Church and sat on the nearby benches I loved watching the surfers. My Brother had a car, and we went to Lagos, a nearby town and purchased our items in Lidl. there are local supermarkets but more expensive. The bread is great as are the Portuguese croissants, my daughter bought a great lemon meringue pie which was fabulous, soft Italian meringue rather than the one we usually have. We drove up part of the hill and saw the view from the edge of the cliffs. I wanted to relax as I work hard at home and had not taken any work with me, I was able to chill and relax. loved all the little marble benches and the cabana area with the BBQ is great, We all loved it and thank Fiona and her family for allowing us to stay in their beautiful villa for a week. Hopefully, we shall return.

We were absolutely delighted with this villa, the pool was a good size and we also made use of the tennis courts. The bbq/ outdoor kitchen dining area is a great place to have family dinners etc. we would definitely rebook if going away with a group again.

Villa Margarida proved to be the ideal choice for our family celebration week. Three generations gathered in Luz, age range 65years to 10months old, with nine overall in our group. The villa was spacious and the grounds were widespread - a wonderful villa for a large family group.

We had the best week staying at Vila Margarida as a group of 9. Everything about the property was just perfect, from the rooms themselves to the tennis court and of course the pool and outdoor kitchen. We had a wonderful time and found ourselves staying by the pool a lot more than we had planned. All communications leading up to the stay and during the stay was timely. We even had a slight issue that was dealt with very quickly and with no impact on our holiday. If anything the description online doesn’t give you the sense of the space available and I’d recommend this for anyone, families like ours or groups of friends. Our only disappointment is that it’s fully booked next summer so we’ll have to wait until 2024 for a return visit.

Everything was so nice and high quality of the house. Good and fast contact with the host if there was anything. Very good area, close to the beach and the village with grocery stores, restaurants, etc. We were a big family of 3 small kids and five adults, everyone was happy. Highly recommended!

We were a group of ten friends and have had a great time at Vila Margarida. The house and its garden are perfect for just spending your days at the pool and enjoy the sun. Everything nice, clean and good conditions. The beach is just a ten minute walk away and a small supermarket is also close by. I can totally recommend the place!

The villa is a great size with the most beautiful swimming pool and spacious gardens. The outdoor area and kitchen was a joy for us as we love to cook on the barbecue. The terrace surrounding the villa is a great way to have a morning coffee or dine under the stars. We loved the privacy and quietness of the location but it was lovely to be so close to the beach and local shops and restaurants. The villa was perfect for our family although we had to be super careful as we had a 2.5 year old with us and the villa is not 'infant-proofed'. This was in no way a problem for us and we had no mishaps.

This villa offers everything you need. The heart of the house (hallway, stairs, bedrooms, living room and kitchen, terrace) is newly decorated, very nice and clean. There are two bedrooms downstairs with an ensuite bathroom, one upstairs with a separate bathroom and the other two bedrooms downstairs share a bathroom. The bathrooms are a bit old, but clean and alright. The kitchen is a great room with a wonderful view. There is enough space for two or three people to prepare a meal together. We missed a good coffee machine, there were percolators though. Anyway, those who needed the coffee the most went out for a morning walk and enjoyed their coffee at a terrace at the seaside. Dinners are wonderful here. We sat happily at the terrace upstairs, close to the kitchen. When using the grill one of us had to walk up and down to serve the others, no problem. We would recommend to have the pool heated, even in summertime. It was so nice to see people getting into the pool at all possible times. Really great about this villa is the location. It is just a short walk to the centre and the beach. When with a large group of people, everyone can do what he/she wants to do, no one depends on others because you would need a car for example. And Praia da Luz is a nice village: large enough to have all amenities, shops and different kinds of bars and restaurants, and still small enough to feel at home. Yes, after one week we had to leave "our home" again. The good memories stay in our hearts.

We had a absolutely fantastic time in Praisa de Luz. The villa was lovely, just the right size for our family of 10 (6 adults and 4 children). The pool was the highlight and the garden area is beautiful, esp the lemon and orange trees. Nicola from the management company there was so helpful and responded to all our queries at lightening speed. Although in the town, the villa feels very secluded and it was so quiet. Our only negative was the spiral staircase as this wasn't great for our 3yr old (or 61yr old after quite a lot of wine!!) but we managed. I would definitely recommend this villa to any family visiting the area.

This was a family holiday celebrating my 60th birthday. 3 generations spanning ages 10 to 64. Everyone said it was an amazing holiday. Unforgettable memories made. The host Fiona provided all the information we needed. The agent responded immediately with one issue we had during the holiday. The villa was gorgeous and so comfortable with all amenities. The maid Filomena was very amenable and kept the property clean and comfortable. Would definitely rent again even considered the winter months as the pool can be heated and there is a lovely log fire in the living room.

Just had a fabulous week at Vila Margarida. There were 8 of us - all Tennis friends - celebrating my special birthday. We made good use of the tennis courts and pool and enjoyed playing tennis and aqua aerobics almost every morning. The villa was in the perfect location - literally a less than 10 minute walk to the town and beach. The local supermarket also delivered our shopping and we were very impressed with their service! Villa was also perfect in terms of facilities - BBQ was great and lots of places to sit and chill both during the day and in the evening. Fiona kindly arranged the transfers to and from the airport which all worked very smoothly and an initial shop for us which enabled us to start relaxing straight away! We all said we would be happy to return to the villa for our next ‘girlie’ holiday. Would definitely recommend! Thank you Fiona!
