The area in front of the house is nice for relaxing in the water and is only 4 to 5 feet deep at the most. The house was very large and the deck was nice in the mornings. We had 11 during our stay.

We had a problem with one shower that everybody was slipping in. I emailed the property’s maintenance, and it was taken care of quickly. The bunk room and two of the bedrooms needed ceiling fans in them. They were hotter than the rest of the house. We went and bought a box fan. The master bedroom stayed cold. The only downfall is the photos didn’t show that there is an adjourning property named Son’s Guadeloupe. It has tiki huts and glamping tents. On Saturday when we got there, of course, it was busy next door. By Sunday it cleared out. We got to watch them clean the porta potties each morning, thrill. The next-door property’s guests used our exit to get out of the water and walk across our grass. We didn’t care, though. The ants were a problem walking down to our river entrance, and the grass was high when we got there. They mowed by Monday. I have always been told to figure out the solution to your problem before you complain. Solution: mow before guests arrive, put ceiling fans up, maybe more cement down by the staircase before you enter the water since the ants were bad down there or treat for ants, Son’s next door...maybe just advertise that it is next door so it’s not a shocker.

Absolutely loved this property and our long weekend getaway. Everything was beautiful, clean and ready to go. Quick communication when needed. Plenty of space for everyone. Enjoyed both the upper and lower decks and of course, the backyard access into the river. A couple of guests mentioned the secondary rooms being warm because there are no fans (so just bring your own or steal the master with the fan). The only partial down side I would say is being next to Son's Guadalupe. On the busy Saturday, we had a lot of people using our steps to get in and out of the river. A couple of their guests also asked to pitch tents in our yard... (um, no! haha) HEB was only 4 miles away and the Lonestar Float House was literally 3-4 houses down - easy walk to rent tubes and get shuttled to float! We floated right back down to our house :) Overall, we all had a blast and would love to go back ASAP. Thanks NBE!!

We did have to go buy fans, because the bedrooms without ceiling fans were very warm at nights. Otherwise, a very comfortable and beautiful home.

Southern Comfort was everything we were expecting and more. Very thankful for our time there and the great customer service from NB Escapes. Our group of 11 had a great time and there was plenty of space and well kept. This section of the river is perfect to hang out and relax and is also very close to river restaurants and places to float from.

The location was great on the river & right next to a tube rental company. We ended up using a different rental place but it was only a 7 minute drive away. My only complaint was that the AC & refrigerator were turned off prior to our stay so it took a long time to cool off the place and the food/drinks. The thermostat was tricky too, the people who arrived earliest couldn't figure it out so when we arrived around 7:30/8, it was still 80 degrees inside. I understand saving money when no one is renting but if it could be left to a higher temp, with better instructions or even turned down the morning before you arrive it would have been much more pleasant.

We took our sons, daughter in laws and grandchildren. Great place for family, LOTS of own space. River in front of house, was great for lounging and the kids playing. Plenty of room in the kitchen and living room.

We loved that it was a new home, decorated beautifully and right ON the RIVER. It doesn’t any sweeter than that. The lower deck is where we spent most of our time when not floating the river. The best location right on the water with the most gorgeous views. The deck made the perfect spot for relaxing all together. It is walking distance to a tube rental place which made floating very convenient. There is also plenty of parking which is a big plus. The steep and many stairs were only entrance which made it very difficult and concerning for children, disabled son in law and elderly person.
The sliding door to the deck from the main room was key locked and none of us were able to unlock it with many attempts.
There was no service for any of 11 cell phone using adults with various servers. We had to drive a distance to be able to call and make reservations in town. Otherwise, as I mentioned, the house was lovely...and these concerns for us might not affect others.

We arrived to a very clean & well appointed home with spacious decks all around & a fabulous patio deck below.
We brought 12 kids with us and never felt cramped.
The management company was professional & quick to handle anything we needed help with.

The children loved the bunk beds and the adults loved the roomy kitchen/family room. This house was newly built under the new flood control requirements and offered upgraded appliances, great view and river access. Everyone associated with the rental was helpful and provided an easy check-in/check-out. We enjoyed great hamburgers at the Lone Star (within walking distance) and visited nearby Natural Bridge Caverns, San Antonio (Mexican Food, River Walk & Alamo) and Gruene Hall. Everyone loved the trip.
