Just back from another stay in Irene's really nice apartment. Once again I found it to be very comfortable and well equipped (everything you needed in the kitchen for drinks/meal preparation) with the added bonus that now there is wi-fi (nice fast reliable connection). Everywhere was spotlessly clean when I arrived with plenty of spare bed linen and towels for me to use. All the rooms were nice and spacious (bigger than I remembered) with comfortable lounger ideally placed in front of the TV (although didn't use it this time as being an old style one it didn't have any HDMI connections for my media - so used tablet for catch-up TV instead - still a very comfy place to sit in the evenings). Bed was very comfortable, bathroom nice and clean with plenty of hot water for the shower. Apartment is literally 3 minutes walk from beach with small supermarket directly opposite and larger (very good) HiperDino about 10 minutes walk away, also about 10 minutes in other direction to bus stop by little harbour. Superb drying area (always windy in El Medano!) on the roof of the building (also washing machine up there which I didn't bother with). All in all another comfortable happy holiday swimming/sunning in my favourite resort in Tenerife. Thanks, Irene for the use of the apartment and best wishes for Christmas to you and your family.

We stayed in this apartment during the Easter holidays, and we really enjoyed it. It is located just 100 meters or so from the El Medano beach, behind the market square, so everything you is within short walking distance: beach, shops, market, bars, restaurants and so on. The apartment itself is at the 2nd floor and has a lift: it's furnished in a basic way as you would expect but very clean, spacious for two people and well equipped, with more or less everything you may need. There is a small balcony at the front (no sea view though) but we didn't use it much as it is exposed to the opposite building and we like having a bit more privacy. There is also a window in the bedroom at the back. The apartment does not receive a lot of direct sunlight from either direction, so it remains cool even when the temperature outside raises: this means sleeping is quite comfortable and the place doesn't get hot. There are remote-controlled ceiling fans, but I personally don't think I would ever use them, even in the Summer. The washing machine and the terrace area upstairs for hanging clothes for drying is also a handy thing: the wind will dry everything very quickly. A few things that can be improved: the bidet tap provides only cold water; the lighting is not very bright; there is a nice oven but some people may like to have a microwave as well. A perfect place if you come without a car, but if you have a car, on some busy days you may struggle to find parking nearby: on a couple of days during the Easter weekend the town was very busy and I had to park some 10 minutes walk away. Fortunately it lasted just a couple of days and everything went reasonably quiet again after that. Overall a place I would book again and would recommend. très confortable appartement, très bien situé dans une ville agréable avec une des plus belle plage de Ténérife ( 100 m de la plage).Très propre , bien équipé , avec commerce à proximité : boulangerie , petits supermarché , traiteurs. A seulement quelques km de l'aéroport mais nous n'avons pas été génés par les avions. De plus Irene est très sympatique , agréable et très serviable. Tout est fait pour passer un séjour plaisant.

Apartment is close to everything...Supermarkets restaurants and beach. Bus and Taxi stop also very close and you can take bus anywhere. Apartment is very clean and has everything you need. Very comfortable bed and pillows as well. Washing machine perfect and clothes dry really fast up in the roof. Apartment building is extremely quiet as well. We had perfect stay here. Wind and Kitesurfing and also few days with SUP. We carried our boards and other stuff back to apartment every day. Owner is very helpful with everything. We will rent this place again! A lovely apartment located only minutes from all amenities - absolutely ideal for a short, self-catered break!

Irene vermietet eine wunderbare und grosszügige Wohnung mit einem Schlafzimmer mit überdurchschnittlich bequemem Bett, einem Bad mit Badewanne und einem Wohnzimmer mit Küche. Sehr sauber und gut gepflegt, zweckmässig ausgestattete Küche und hübscher Balkon. Einziges Manko ist der etwas zu klein bemessene Boiler. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieterin, welche in der Gegend wohnt. Die Vermietung verläuft sehr transparent und unkompliziert. Die Wohnung befindet sich in El Médano, einem hübschen Dorf an der Südspitze von Teneriffa. Das Wetter ist hier, im Gegensatz zum Norden, sehr beständig und immer warm. Das Dorf ist noch unberührt vom Massentourismus und zu einem grossen Teil von Einheimischen bewohnt. Gleich gegenüber der Wohnung befindet sich ein (kleiner) Supermarkt mit den nötigsten Lebensmitteln. Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral im Dorf, ist jedoch dennoch eher ruhig gelegen. Obwohl sich El Médano nur rund 10-15 Autominuten vom Flughafen entfernt befindet, ist der Fluglärm nicht störend, da sich über dem Dorf keine Flugschneise befindet. Zum Ausspannen sind der lebhafte Dorfplatz und die anschliessende Strandpromenade wunderschön. Die besten Drinks gibt’s in der Bar Calima gleich anfangs der Promenade, das beste Essen (insb. Fisch) im Familiar. Rund 30 Minuten Fussweg bzw. 10 Minuten Autofahrt entfernt befindet sich der wunderschöne und ziemlich schwach frequentierte Strand Playa del Tejita. Läuft man diesen weiter Richtung Los Abrigos ab, erreicht man bald die wunderbare Bar Chiringuito Pirata für einen grandiosen Mojito mit Blick auf das Meer. Unbedingt empfehlenswert ist ebenfalls ein Spaziergang auf den neben El Médano gelegenen Vulkan Montaña Roja. Möchte man mehr als nur die nahe Umgebung von El Médano entdecken, ist ein Mietauto sehr empfehlenswert. Aufgrund der nahe gelegenen Autobahn ist praktisch jeder Ort der Insel in maximal 90 Minuten Fahrt zu erreichen. Absolut empfehlenswert ist eine Fahrt in den Teide Nationalpark, wobei für den Rückweg unbedingt die TF-38 Richtung Chio gewählt werden soll! Nicht zu verpassen sind ebenfalls die Pyramiden von Güimar, der Loro Parque und eine Wal- und Delfintour. Parkieren nach 17.30 Uhr ist in El Médano etwas nervenaufreibend. Häufig gibt’s noch einen Parkplatz beim Sportplatz, ansonsten auf der Hauptstrasse Richtung San Isidro. Wir kommen wieder in die Ferienwohnung von Irene! Back recently from a very enjoyable stay in Irene's apartment in El Medano. Irene (very pleasant, friendly woman) met me at the apartment as arranged to give me a tour of the facilities of her apartment in a small and very quiet building. I found the apartment to be very spacious (bigger than I had thought it would be) with a very well equipped kitchen area, comfortable sofas (nicely placed for reading and watching the TV/DVD) as well as a fully equipped bathroom and bedroom with a large comfortable bed. Everywhere was spotlessly clean when I arrived. The rooftop drying area was very convenient - making full use of Medano's ever present wind! As advertised the apartment is just a couple of minutes walk from the main sandy beach whilst being centrally located with several supermarkets within walking distance (including the Coviran across the road which you can see from the balcony). All in all I had a very nice stay in a comfortable apartment in my favourite little town in Tenerife - thanks Irene!
