The location a little out of the central part of the beautiful Basque village was a perfect. Just a short walk into a good number of restaurants, cafes and shops and yet still remarkably quiet at night.

didn’t really like room 6. it gave out onto the road and didn’t have the same charm as other rooms giving out onto the courtyard.

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff on reception. Modern, airy room and excellent shower.

We were there for five nights. The towels were not changed until we asked, aftre three nights. This turned out to be an oversight by the cleaners - reception were very apologetic and gave us new towels immediately.

The town of Ascain is lovely and we were comfortable on Hotel Alaia. The location is good, a short walk from the main square and parking was available directly outside.

It was very hot during the summer and without a breeze it was difficult to sleep. The fridge seemed to be struggling and the door was hot to touch, which indicated it likely needed replacing.

It is a very quiet little hotel nestled at the foot of the mountains. Very clean with lots of charm. The breakfast is pretty good (local products) and considering that it is a buffet, plenty to eat. The public parking is great with plethora of free spaces. Hikes start right off that same parking. Because the rooms have no A/C, I asked for a fan and the lady behind the counter provide me with one. Our room was spacious and quiet, away from the road. Good mattress. The bathroom was large and clean. Our room was acrually in an adjacent house (Maison Maïtena which allows us more independence).

No actual parking on the spot. The public parking is off the premises (a mere 30m away), but no monitoring. Breakfasts could have been included in the total price. The wi-fi was good but only last a few minutes. It needs constant reconnection.

Great location in the pretty village, nice restaurants, clean rooms, friendly staff, good value, free parking. A fantastic stay :)

The small studio only had a door and no windows so we ran out of air in the room during the night - quite stuffy and cramped.

Beautiful town. Excellent location to the center of the village and to the trailhead for climbing La Rhune. The proximity to the ocean is perfect as well. Our rooms were spacious and modern with an old-world feel.

This hotel is exceptional for the price charged. I did not expect it to be so nice and our room was beautiful. The area is stunning and there are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. I will stay there again!

Lovely hotel in beautiful area. Very comfortable room with outside seating, very relaxing stay. Parking on site also a bonus.
