Beautiful apartment with plenty of room & everything we needed

We have stayed in many holiday rentals and this one is a standout! Besides being in the best location in Tavira we appreciated the very good lighting in all rooms and stairways. The beds were comfortable and there was a comfortable area for sitting in the living room. The balconies looking onto the river with the chairs and table were our favourite place to sit and watch the activity around the ferry. There is also an office a few doors down from the apartment which is staffed 24 hours so it is easy to get hold of the managers if necessary. A real gem!

So, this property is right in the heart of the lovely historic town of Tavira, just 200 metres from its famous Roman Bridge. Tavira is a relaxing place and even in winter has a number of lovely restaurants and bars. The property comes with three bedrooms and three bathrooms as well as living room/dining room and kitchen. There are also balconies overlooking the river on two levels. Check in was simple and there was modern air-conditioning and satellite TVs in all bedrooms and living room. Wi-fi was good and the kitchen was good enough to encourage us to eat in a couple of nights. Towels and linen were well stocked as were all utensils. There is ample free parking within walking distance and quality retail stores within easy walking distance. A bonus was having some nice restaurants adjacent to the property and the two we tried (Portugese and Indian) were excellent. The adjacent wine store (Soares) was also excellent with a wonderful stock of Portugese wines and ports. Would I recommend this property for anytime of the year - absolutely!

The apartment was great. It was very spacious, and the best part was the terrace off the two bedrooms. From the terrace was a perfect view of the Gilao River, the pedestrian walkway, and the town itself. The apartment is right in front of the ferry dock for the Ilha de Tavira, with interesting people-watching. Many cafes/restaurants/bars on the street as well as shopping. The only drawback was the kitchen was lacking some key things like a sharp knife (there were dull knives at least), a vegetable peeler, and napkins, which is not much of a drawback considering how great the rest of the apartment is. The apartment was extremely clean, with plenty of fresh towels. It was not too far of a walk to free parking, even though we had a lot of large, heavy bags. Leonel was very responsive to messages on VRBO. Overall, highly recommend this apartment. Best location in Tavira and worth the price.

Overlooking the tidal river Gilao, with river views from the living room, kitchen, and three bedrooms, this place is ideal! We loved every minute of our time in Tavira.

Absolute wonderful apartment - very clean with stunning views on the water, old city & sunrises. In minutes one is in downtown and / or old town. Great restaurants & cafe (Flavour Cafe) just down the road. Superb restaurant directly on the water (Terraze) We have been to Tavira many times but the first rented in Tavira. Hope to come back next year.

This Villa is located in the beautiful historic old town of Tavira overlooking the river and historic bridge, steps away to cafes and restaurants. Views from the terrace are fantastic. Loenel met us when we arrived, he is very friendly and was ready to assist if we needed anything. The Villa was clean, well appointed, and beds comfortable. We stayed here with 6 adults and there was good space. There are a lot of steps to the main floor, and bedrooms are another flight of stairs higher. We have an adult with mobility issues and climbing the stairs was somewhat of a challenge however we managed. The extra cot is very comfy. We really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend this to friends and we would definitely return.

A large, clean, well equipped appartment that is close to all points of interest in the city. We really enjoyed our visit there.

Leonel's villa in Tavira is in a wonderful position, over-looking the river. Our group of 3 retired couples thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Relaxing on the terrace with a glass of wine, with that magic view in the early evening, will be a lasting memory. The villa itself was very spacious and comfortable for six people. Beds were comfortable, with good linen. Communication was excellent and very friendly...before, during and after check-in. Cleanliness generally very good except for the terrace and tiled floors, which we felt could have been cleaner. If you have mobility issues though, please be aware that the living area is one floor up from the entry, two of the bedrooms another floor up and the third bedroom (attic) with its ensuite is another storey up again. If you are carrying heavy luggage this could be a problem...but having said that we six people, late sixties and early seventies, managed. And it was worth it. Tavira is a beautiful town and well worth a visit. Leonel's villa is very good value for money.

Tavira is a wonderful town and so is this apartment! It is well equipped and we loved the balcony. We enjoyed many evenings just watching people and enjoying the river. We never used the jet tub, but I am sure it is great in the winter! I would highly recommend a trip to Tavira and this apartment.
