Location right on the beach, comfortable room and helpful staff

The beach is spectacular. Lots to explore at low tide and the surf is small in this protected cove. So picturesque.

staff seemed unhappy and unenthusiastic. Pillows were not comfortable, it felt a bit unloved. breakfast was shambolic due to electricity constantly fusing equipment. So toast and coffee were unavailable, breakfast items weren’t replenished so there was very little to choose from and no staff to ask.

Excellent location right on the beach, very pretty building and peaceful lovely gardens. Plenty of parking. Super value Menu, that we partook of each evening, plenty of choice and adequate portions. Will definitely visit again.

I wonder if in the high season the peaceful atmosphere would still prevail. Rather a large camping site right next door therefore there would probably be a lot of traffic, comings and goings. However early or late season it is perfect.

This hotel is is a stunning location, right on a beautiful beach. The sea rooms are certainly worth the little extra as they look along the beach. Breakfast buffet wonderful and healthy. Rooms are modern and clean. The artichokes for dinner highly recommended.

The hotel is a little stuck in the past. We had 3 vegetarians in our group and after checking that there is a fixed menu at the hotel we arrived to find the only dish in 3 courses available to them was the soup! There was no flexibility to put a vegetarian main course, which in this day and age and for 3/8 people in the group was very short sighted. We also had a lot of dishes arriving out of time, so mains were coming when starters had just been delivered. It seems the dining room staff are trained to bring out the fixed menu and when there is a combination of fixed menu and a la carte, they were flummoxed .

So glad we booked here! Great exploring the beach and caves during lower tides! Great breakfast and dinner! Met some people on the beach that drive 4 hours from Madrid and say this beach they like the best!

it’s an spectacular hotel. one of the best places I’ve ever been too. and I’ve been to many.

The hotel is right on the beach! It has very nice and comfortable lounges and the set menu for dinner was very good value and had good varied choices.

Superb independent hotel with beach front location

Lovely hotel in an excellent location right next to a superb beach. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

The attitude of the staff particularly in the restaurant was poor. We tried to communicate and understand that some did not speak English but even when tried to speak a few words in Spanish they were not really willing to help. We felt as it was also recommended by several tour companies that come from the UK. more help would of been more forthcoming. Perhaps more customer service training is required for their staff. The reception and bar staff were though, helpful and friendly.

What a lovely find. Right on the beach. Definitely worth getting a room with sea views. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. We spent a lovely couple of nights here. The food was lovely and very good value. We felt relaxed and well looked after throughout. A hotel to recommend and revisit.

We were looking for a place at the San Vicente de la barquera. This hotel is located about 20 Km far from town.

Location stunning

A particularly unfriendly welcome from an older lady on reception . Some people should not deal with front of house. However other members of staff were very hospitable. Room although clean on the inside had wine bottle and full cigarette ashtray on balcony which hadn’t been touched.
