The people who worked there were kind and did their best to help and make the stay a pleasant one. They even made special breakfast of our choice in the morning.

Despite the lovely people who work there, the place was extremely run down and the rooms did not feel very clean. There was also a damp smell in the whole room. The entrance of the building and he lift seemed hazardous.

It’s very well done and comfortable. Quiet in the centre but still peaceful.

It was a bit weird that the gallery didn’t have even a small permanent collection for visitors to view. That would add so much to the stay. Or some sort of book curation of past exhibits.

This was a return visit for me and I was as delighted with this stay as I was in 2019. There is quaint, generous and sincere service at The Harrington Residency. Mrs Khullar was available for questions and runs a great find in an excellent location. Breakfast was always a treat and the mini bar was always well stocked. Harrington Residency is in a league of its own and can't wait to return in 2024

Having to leave

This is one of the best properties in the park street area. Those looking for Calcutta's old colonial architecture must try this place. Mrs. Khullar is the Super host. Staff are well mannered and always ready to help.

Lovely old building, old Calcutta vibe. Worth spending a bit more for the superior double room, more spacious with marble floors and bathroom. Breezy, comfortable verandah. Entrance, staircase and lift give a tragic first impression but it’s nice once you’re inside. Basanti, resident dog, was a bonus (for me). Great location, restaurant downstairs, Camac St and shops around the corner. Staff kind and helpful. Good wifi.

We enjoyed the room's location on a lovely veranda, it's tall ceilings, excellent AC, wifi, and bathroom. The breakfast is custom prepared from a limited number of choices, but done very well and staff couldn't have been more eager to please. There are only 3 guest rooms so it was quiet, yet had round-the-clock friendly staff and security. The adjoining art gallery was also a pleasure to visit. The location is a quiet street in a lively neighborhood with many restaurants and shops. The hotel is a small part of a larger building and includes 3 restaurants. We enjoyed the Soya Sassy restaurant entered on the east side. Overall, the hotel's price was a very good bargain.

We had a bit of trouble finding the front door when we arrived. It would have been useful to know that the hotel is on the east side of the 2nd floor. Entry is through the central door. Don't be put off by the dirty ground floor lobby (and friendly dog). There is a lift as well as a once-grand stair that has a red carpet on it as you go up to the hotel. The grime of the entry level was off-putting at first but completely disappears once you reach the hotel. My only suggestion for the room itself is for a few more hooks in the bathroom on which to hang towels and clothing for re-use.

Cool, atmospheric building, friendly staff, nice room and good breakfast. Well located next to American consulate. A terrific place.

There was a noisy concert in the attached art center one day but at least it stopped by 7pm. There was an issue with double billing (card machine appeared not to work, paid in cash then discovered the card was charged as well. Currently working to resolve this. Am hopeful it will be handled as professionally and efficiently as everything else was.)

Just in front of the US counselate. Spacious and comfortable rooms, staff is courteous and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

A house with exquisite architectural design, gave a unique feeling of comfort. Enjoyed homely stay. Staffs were cordial and helpful. Recommend this place for a holiday escape. Hope to visit this place again !

Large rooms and lovely balcony area and dining room. Quiet inside rooms. Excellent breakfasts featuring delicious Food from different areas of India. Staff very helpful and friendly. Entrance to building a little rundown but access to Residences on second floor secure and inviting. Old friendly dog who sleeps on the middle stair to the first floor. Red carpet on the stairs to the second floor. Lift available .

The bathroom floor needed a clean but the rest was fine.

Very friendly staff and a good location in this quirky hotel with huge rooms in an old 'mansion'.

The premises are in need of maintenance. The soundproofing is so minimal that I could hear my neighbour's snoring as if he were lying next to me.
