The host was very friendly and attentive. The room is spacious and the bathroom comfortable. The location is very good since it’s close to public paid parking and just at the entrance of the historical center and Sasso Baresano. The breakfast was amazing with homemade and good quality food.

The double bed is actually two single beds joint together and the mattresses are not very comfortable.

Unfortunately, one day is not enough for Matera

Great location, beautiful view, very friendly hosts, nice breakfast, rooms spacious enough and well equipped, cozy atmopshere. A lot of good restaurants, some shops and cafes just next to the house. The possibility to have a reservation for a parking not far away was great advantage to us. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would love to visit La Casa di Ele again.

Amazing location, newly renovated room. Staff welcomed us warmly, we felt like at home. Delicious breakfast handmade by the owner alongside local products.

The place was absolutely wonderful. At the edge of Matera's historical centre so only a couple of minutes from public parking in the streets nearby. In february we didn't have any problems finding free parking spot (it's 9euro per day). The room with terrace was wonderful. The sights from the terrace breathtaking. The host was extremely nice and helpful, showing us what to see, where to eat. Lesson for everyone- make reservations for evening dinners! We didn't and we had troubles finding a place, but fortunately what our host told us was also true- you can't eat bad in matera and in the end we had a lovely and tasty dinner. Breakfast were extremaly delicious - freshly baked bread, cakes, delicate ricotta... everything was perfect. If we ever get back to matera this would definitely be a place to stay at.:)

we liked everything

Great location, with a lovely terrace with fantastic views of Matera. The hosts were very helpful and went out of their way to provide information, make bookings at restaurants and providing directions on where to go and what to do etc.

It was a lovely place, difficult to find fault with it.

Erasmo was a pleasure and a delight of a host. he took the time to explain the property and city to us which was greatly appreciated. he was very responsive which was helpful if we needed anything. location was great, the parking is quite close which made getting our bags to the hotel quite easy. also a bit away from the incredibly busy area which we appreciated. great distance to some yummy food spots and would definitely stay here if we come back

property can be a bit loud in the morning. we were in the unit with the balcony and the secondary door to the outside slammed shut and resonated through the place. also the bed was quite firm and there weren’t options for additional pillows (maybe if we had asked). we only stayed one night so was not an issue for us

we were welcomed by friendly staff who went out of his way to explain about what we should visit and all kinds of other interesting and useful information. He also made dinner reservations for us at a wonderful restaurant. Their breakfast buffet was wonderful, the room was clean with a breathtaking view.

*great location in a atmospheric, old house..in the historical quarter of Matera..comfortable, no frills, clean.. tasty homemade breakfast with delicious freshly baked cakes, yummy cheeses with fig jam..and focaccia..friendly hosts.. the whole family ; Erasmo picked us up in town, and guided us to their property.. ( if you arrive by car there is a parking near old town , on a blue lines- 75 cents per hour, no entry allowed to the old town, only for residents of Matera). He also explained nicely about sites to visit and overall gave us great suggestions for walking and dining in the old town .. Matera is gorgeous by the way! 😍

Our room was spacious & clean with all that we needed. The terrace had fantastic views and plenty of space. Stefano and his mother were incredible hosts who made sure we were very well looked after, including spending time over a coffee when we arrived to talk us through the surrounding area and where to visit. Breakfast included a wide range of options, including home made and local produce. Casa Di Ele is the perfect spot to explore Matera. We had a fantastic stay & would happily return!

We had the room with terrace overlooking the Sassi which was beautiful. The owners Rafaele and Erasmus where very enthusiastic and very helpful and the location is excellent to explore fantastic Matera.

The only small criticism was there were no cereals for breakfast

The place is just unbelievable. From the moment you arrive you get a heart warming welcome and a much appreciated tour of the POI from Matera. The place is cosy, chic and and mesmerizing ! And a big plus : the breakfast is delicious. If you go to Matera you definitely have to spend your nights at La Casa di Ele

The fact that we had to leave the place and the wonderful Matera was the only downside :)
