The location, property and staff were all great.

The property was great but we woke up the next morning to discover the property was infested with ants and my clothes were covered.

The location is amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast could either be served in your room or in the dining area.

The Caveoso Hotel was very well appointed, and very centrally located in the Sassi area of Matera. We had an apartment with 2 bedrooms for a family group of 4 adults. The room was spacious, warm, and had everything we needed. Breakfast, served in the small dining area, was well done with a continental breakfast. The recomeendation of David the taxi driver by the hotel was very well received. He was timely, not expensive, and got us too and from the hotel with a minimum of fuss. We had a great stay in Matera and staying at the Caveoso was part of the overall positive experience.

The hotel is in a perfect location in the Sassi, staff we're fantastic, particularly Vanessa. It was a rely special stay.

Hotel was located right in the heart of everything. Close proximity to a few of the main points of interest, many local restaurants and spectacular views. The woman at reception was so kind and patient with all our questions and even prioritized checking our room so we could check-in when we arrived from a long drive. Her recommendations for restaurants were spot on and she helped us get situated during a very short stay. Aside from that, our suite was just the perfect cave experience.

There is nothing that I didn't like about this hotel. Some people will talk about climbing stairs with luggage and all that - this is part of the charm and experience of being in Matera!

This is a spectacular place to stay. Located in the old village and inside a cave. We particularly enjoyed being able to have breakfast in our room for no extra charge. Definitely recommend to stay here to get the full Matera experience.

In the center of old town, amazing view from the room! room was specious and comfortable!

Breakfast was very poor, they asked us when we arrived what we would like for the breakfast. Minimal choice for the breakfast. check in very late, 14:00, we had to wait in the lobby for more than 3 hours (we arrived early) with a toddler.

The staff was very very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect.

we hoped to get a cave room, but ours was big and really good

The location and view from the room were our of this world. Absolutely stunning setting and so amazing to be able to stay in a cave. When we checked in we were told in excellent detail what to do and how to get to all the main sites and where were the best places to go which were absolutely spot on. The room was really spacious and special and the bed was really comfy. Really recommend staying here due to the excellent location. Also pre arrival the information about how to get there by car was excellent and detailed. Breakfast was also offered in the room which was a great bonus as we had to be up early for a flight
