Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a wildfire in Yosemite. Thorn went above and beyond to answer our questions. He gave us excellent, thorough information about the area, and gave great directions and information about the park itself! We did end up canceling the trip a a result of the wildfire. and Thorn made that process as easy as possible. We will definitely be back when things aren't on fire!

This is the best rental house we have ever stayed in. The host even responded afterward and personally located a pair of lost earbuds.

This home was amazing and stocked with everything we could possibly want or need. I loved the privacy of the extra bedroom in the basement, as well as having the loft for the kids. My parents were able to have the master bedroom and bath on the main floor and we all had our own bathroom which was so convenient! Deer literally resided outside their back door. We would see them each morning we were there. The details that were provided by Thorn and Anne were so useful and appreciated and they were such great hosts in how they checked in on is to make sure we were settled in the first couple of days. One of my favorite parts of the park were the sequoias and their home was literally within 3 miles of them. The general store located just outside of their neighborhood served to be extremely useful, as well! We made several visits! I will definitely be looking to stay in this home again the next time I visit Yosemite!! Thank you Anne and Thorn!

This is a beautiful house with an ideal location just outside Yosemite's entrance. Thorn was incredibly helpful throughout our entire trip planning process including details on the property and suggestions on what to do in the park. It is spacious and had everything we wanted for relaxing and fun before and after our days in Yosemite. I highly recommend this property.

We had an awesome experience. The place was just 2 miles from the south entrance to Yosemite and the host gave us so much helpful information in the months leading up to our stay, suggesting places to eat, sight-see, etc. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect getaway and so close to the park. The home was clean, spacious and had everything we needed to make us feel at home =) The owners were amazing and communicative from booking through checkout and even helped give us some great tips for places to check on our first visit to the park. Highly recommend and we will be back. =)

The house has 3 levels to it so there are stairs to climb. Main level has the kitchen, living room, bedroom and a bathroom. The upper level is a bedroom (2 beds) and bathroom while the lower level has a gameroom, bedroom (2 beds) and a bathroom. Communication with the owners was excellent. We enjoyed our stay. Note....the driveway is steep.

We had an excellent fall getaway in Yosemite with the Half Dome Hideaway as our home base! It was exactly as advertised, super clean, and well located at the South entrance to the park. Thorn and Anne were attentive and made the stay easy. The wifi is strong enough we were even able to videoconference into work one day. Overall, a great time!

My friends and I had such a great time staying at the half-dome hideaway. Thorne is a great communicator who gave us excellent recommendations for the area, and made sure that we had everything we could want or need during our stay. The location was perfect - Wawona and the entrance to Yosemite was just down the road! It also isn't far from Oakhurst where there are lots of stores and good restaurants, so you get the best of both worlds. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, and there was plenty of seating in the living room for social time and board games. I would absolutely stay here again.

The owner, Thorn Hertwig, keeps you updated via email or text with lots of useful information. We enjoyed our visit to Yosemite and relaxing stay at the house.

This property was perfect for my family of 6, including 4 teenaged boys. Very close to South Yosemite entrance near Mariposa Grove. Pool table on lower level was great. Adequate sleeping space and number of bathrooms helped a lot. Drive is a bit steep. We had a sprinter van and decided to park at the bottom of the drive because we couldn't turn it around at the top. Quiet, safe area.

The house is huge, so there are multiple options for sleeping arrangements and for hanging out, from down in the game area, to the outdoor patio, to the cozy living room, which is full of games, books, and thoughtful folders full of ideas for activities in the area. The kitchen is very well equipped and clean. The location was incredible for visiting Yosemite - just minutes from the gate, and you are in a quiet, wooded neighborhood. Oakhurst had lots of options for food/groceries. The most outstanding feature of this house is the communication with the host. I have rented lots of homes, and I have never had the level of engagement that I did with these hosts. (and not at all in an obtrusive way) I felt so welcomed and really well informed about the home and activities in the area. The day we were traveling to the home, there was a nearby fire, and they texted me updates throughout the day as to the best routes and the fire situation in the area - it was above and beyond and really put my mind at ease, and fortunately turned out not to be an issue for our stay. This was really one of my favorite vacation rentals.

Beautiful! The property was lovely. We all enjoyed our stay. Just what we were looking for. It is everything Thorn and Anne said it would be. It is added to our getaway list. The only exception is the WiFi signal was week. We were unable to watch 📺 in the upstairs bedroom, livingroom, and downstairs game room. Not sure about kitchen, never turned it on. Only 2 tv's got reception, master bedroom and downstairs bedroom. Maybe next time. Additionally, upstairs bathroom shower did nt drain. By the time you finished your shower you were in a tub of water. But easy fix before next tenets. Overall A+ EXCELLENT!!! Highly recommended 👌

We were very pleased with the cabin! We loved the floor plan, large windows in the front room, and comfort of the cabin. It was very clean and well taken care of. Thank you Thom and Anne for sharing your home with us!
