This cabin really exceeded what was advertised Despite poor weather that delayed outdoor winter activities for a day, we found no problem in watching movies and playing board games until the weather cleared. Within a short time we felt right at home. Looking forward to having an opportunity to visit again!

This year we decided to go away for Christmas, and we were so glad we did! This was our second visit to the cabin, and we had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed Sugarbush, a hike at Texas Falls and walks on the trails around the property. It even snowed on Christmas Eve! This is the perfect place to spend a relaxing holiday, weekend, or longer. And plenty to do nearby! We look forward to returning to the cabin, a cozy spot that has everything you need! Thank you, Jeff, for making everything easy. Happy new year!

I’m not normally the type to write reviews on rentals, but this one was too good not to. The host, firstly, is so responsive and gives you all the tools to make it the best stay possible. He has a full on website with all the possible experiences, places to eat, hikes (they even have a hiking trail in their backyard that has little lamps guiding you - our dog LOVED it). They also have heated mud room and bathroom floors which make SUCH a difference in the winter. The place was so cozy and cute, along with easy to follow instructions for quite literally anything. It almost made it hard to want to leave for day trips. Also the projector quality …. Unreal. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin :)

My third time staying in this cabin and my mother has stayed even more times. Cannot say enough great things about Jeff and his properties. He is attentive, the cabins are safe and clean, and his property has so much to explore. Hot tub is a great bonus after a long day too. Cute and quiet town. Beautiful waterfalls. My dog never wants to leave!

Jeff’s cabin is exactly how he described it in the listing. It was perfect for a 3 night getaway for me, my girlfriend and my dog. The spiral staircase can be challenging for a pup but carrying ours up and down was easy. We lucked out with 8 inches of snow the night we arrived. Driveway plowed by 9:30am if we needed to go anywhere. Cabin was comfy and stayed perfectly warm with the cold temps. We took a quick snowshoe walk on the beautiful property and I would recommend doing this if you have snow. We will be back!

Had a wonderful time here for my honeymoon. There isn’t much nearby, but a good 35-1hr drive can get you to a lot of the touristy places in Vermont. The Cabin was beautiful and the hot tub was an awesome touch. I would recommend it to anyone.

The cabin was even better in person, if that even sounds possible! We wanted a day of nothing but relaxation and that’s exactly what we got - reading in the nook by the fire, plenty of movies, everything we needed to make yummy treats, and the hot tub. We had the best time.

Jeff the owner is super nice, and outgoing. This was our third year renting one of the cabins on site. The romantic retreat is a beautiful cabin, we very much enjoyed the hot tub, as well as the accommodations. The beds are comfortable, the shower has good pressure and gets pretty hot. We will be back next year!

The cabin and location were perfect for a fall trip to Vermont. Should I have the opportunity to return, then most certainly will consider staying again at this wonderful cabin in Granville.

Our stay was lovely. Property was just as described. It had unmatched character and a coziness that is New England in all its rural glory. Highly recommend.

My husband and I are primary caregivers for our 96 and 97 year old mothers. It means 24/7 having them and their needs on our minds. This beautiful cabin was the ideal respite for us. The hot tub, the falling leaves, the quiet. We loved it and look forward to returning in March. Jeff couldn’t be nicer to work with.

Our first trip to Vermont to get away to celebrate our 25th anniversary was exactly what we pictured. The mountain cabin was absolutely perfect in every way to get away from it all…Jeff & family has thought of everything you could need to make your stay the most comfortable & cozy experience. Along with a welcome bottle of champagne! Everything is labeled which is so helpful. Great suggestions for restaurants & where to shop or hike or explore. The location of the cabin although a little remote was centrally located and exactly what we were looking for to be able to explore & take daily road trips. But the best part was being able to return to our cozy “home” and watch a show or game on the projector screen..genius for adults & kids. Jeff answered any questions we had quickly via email or text. We had the opportunity to see their new project on the property and it’s going to be beautiful when completed. Also a chance to meet Chester his adorable goofy doodle. 😊 We’ll definitely be back! Everything about our stay in Romantic Retreat exceeded expectations. Shout out to Jeff for exceptional communication and detailed instructions that made for a smooth stay. The surroundings are beautiful and quiet. Loved the 4K projector and movie screen for the evening entertainment. Hot tub was especially clean and provided a relaxing view of the mountainside. The cabin comes equipped with all you need. We both slept well in the comfortable bed and mountain air. In short, if you get a chance rent this cabin. You will be glad that you did.

Owner is very attentive, communicates well, the space is stocked and ready to use. My kids and I enjoyed our stay and it's close to many hiking trails and scenic views.

The Youngs provided such a cozy home-away-from-home! We went to Vermont to enjoy the natural environment, and this little cabin tucked in the woods was a perfect getaway. When it was cool & rainy, we took advantage of the hot tub and theater.

This cabin is cozy, well appointed, and immediately inspires a sense of relaxation. I intend to be back!

Absolutely perfect for what we were looking for

Had a lovely time at the cabin even though it rained all week. With a full kitchen, we made meals together and watched two seasons of the white lotus on the cinema screen. We were able to take the trail to the top which was a lovely mountain view and a short, muddy hike at Texas falls.

Our family of four (kids ages 2 and 5) had a wonderful time at the cabin despite a wet weekend. I found the cabin to be thoughtfully appointed and generously equipped, with helpful labels and thorough instructions throughout. We enjoyed local waterfalls, trails on site and beyond, and the fire pit/grill/hot tub combo was just perfect. Our five year old has already declared that we will be back! Thanks for a great experience!

We try to book at least one week away each year - usually over April break, often a cabin in the woods. Once is usually enough to experience a place and then we try someplace new next time. This cabin is the first we have ever rebooked - it’s that great. Cozy, homey, the movie screen, the hot tub, all the little touches of ‘home’ that so many rentals just don’t have. We had the added advantage this time to meet Jeff (& Chester!) and look forward to the next time we can squeeze in another getaway to your cozy retreat! Wow! Everything about this property was amazing. The interior was very cozy, we stayed warm with the gas stove. We made use of the games, the movie theater, the hot tub, and the fire pit. House was well stocked, and everything was accessible and easy to use. Jeff was very attentive and available. We also walked the trails around the property used the snow shoes provided. Overall this was a very relaxing experience and would definitely come again. Note: you will definitely need AWD and snow tires in winter as the road does go up a steep hill and if there is fresh snow or too much mud, you will likely get stuck.

There are not enough superlatives. This cabin is such a wonderful labour of love. It is incredibly well designed down to the smallest detail, balancing character with extreme comfort. The location is also beautiful and Jeff was really easy to work with. We came in need of intense family relaxation time and found it. Really hoping to be back soon, thanks so much again to Jeff and his family for sharing this little slice of heaven.

This stay was a birthday surprise for the wife, so the wife is writing the following review: I could not have been more delighted by this well cared for, absolutely darling cottage. All the little details and helpful hints about the area were so wholesome and heartwarming. The atmosphere was romantic, cozy and restorative. I could have spent hours sipping on hot cocoa and reading from the window seat, the hot tub was absolutely fabulous, and I whipped up a delicious meal in the kitchen and had everything I needed and more. The location was private, yet close enough to get to Killington for a day of skiing and be first on the slopes! It was a very peaceful stay and I can't wait to go back!
