We enjoyed being in Old Town because we did not have a car. We were able to walk everywhere. Massimo was a great host before we ever arrived helping to answer our questions and with transportation. He arranged for us to be picked up at airport and same person took us to Central bus station when we left. We took 2 tours out of city that were convenient to catch because we were so centrally located. Massimo is a very caring host and wants to make sure you enjoy your stay. He met us when we arrived and showed us everything about his home. Kitchen has everything you would need to cook a meal. There is a huge living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen and fully equipped kitchen. Was glad to have washer. There are bars and restaurants close by, especially with Fish Market so close to apartment. Make sure to go to Bar Mazzini around corner from apartment. It was easy to walk to many sights in Catania. You can’t go wrong staying at Amber’s House with host Massimo.

Our host, Massimo was very organized and attentive to our needs. He met us when we arrived and familiarized us with the particulars of the apartment. We were thankful for the fresh fruit, cold drinking water, coffee and toast that he provided for us! We were able to contact him with any questions and received instant replies. The apartment is so convenient to many piazzas. We loved to take off and explore the city and found it convenient to cafes for various meals. Parking nearby was very difficult. And we felt very safe but the neighborhood is in need

The reason for the ratings has everything to do with parking and ability to find the apartment. The apartment itself was well described. Very large with plenty of room to spread out. Well lived in with everything you need to cook your own meals. The problem is if you have your own car be prepared. It is very difficult to find parking on the street in front of apartment. Our car was hit twice causing us to have to find a car dealer to repair it. I am sure we will have to pay when we turn the rental car in. We got cussed out for parking in a spot that was on the street in front so we ended up parking away from the apartment and walking there at night. Catania is very crowded and this place is right in the middle of town. If you are planning to just stay In Catania without a car I would give it 5 stars.

Catania is a wonderful city and our visit to the old town did not disappoint. If you want to be in the heart of the city and fully experience the people and places of Catania, I highly recommend a stay at Amber's House. The home is beautifully appointed and centrally located in a safe and charming neighborhood. The neighborhood is welcoming and full of activity. At Amber's House, you are only steps from the daily open-air market, an experience all to itself - fresh fish of all kinds, as well as beautiful fruits and vegetables. In the same location, you will find an abundance of wonderful restaurants and plenty of nightlife. Our host, Massimo, was outstanding! He responded immediately to every question and need. Massimo went above and beyond by meeting us at the airport and leading us to the property on his motorcycle. He was concerned we would have trouble navigating the city due to a large festival that had caused many street closures. Amber's House had everything we needed - including a great coffeemaker, hairdryer, and washing machine. This property is also someone's home which, for us, was an added bonus. I highly recommend Amber's House and look forward to returning on our next visit to Catania!

We really enjoyed our stay at Massimo's home.It is bright and clean and centrally located. His home feels very lived in. Massimo was very friendly and helpful and gave us some good tips for the area. I would stay there again.

Massimo’s place was very centrally located yet extremely quiet. It’s huge and has everything you would need. Be aware that it has a lot of stuff in it—it appears someone lives there? So best of you consider it borrowing a friend’s apartment while he’s out of town. We would stay again if we were in Catania.

Massimo's spacious, fully equipped apartment was even better than we had expected. It's perfect location close to the Fish Market and the Piazza Duomo was also near by many fine restaurants, cafes, and bars with easy access to all the sights and shopping. Massimo was kind enough to pick us up at the train station upon arrival and to arrange a transfer for us to the airport upon departure. This wonderful apartment made our experience in and around the city of Catania even more enjoyable. Grazie, Massimo !!!

This large, spacious apartment was well equipped with every kitchen item you could possibly need, including spices. The owner had milk, orange juice and several pieces of fresh fruit for us too. Great location too, Street parking wasn’t a problem either. We’d definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the apartment for 5 nights with our 3 kids age 7,11 and 14. The rooms are very quiet and they slept in every day!! The apartment has a huge living area and a large kitchen with everything you need. We did day trips to other towns and it was wonderful! We could shop at the market and Pasta Fresca steps from the apartment in the morning and buy fresh pasta, fruit, cheese, fish, etc. Then we would come back at night after touring and cook a lovely amazing meal! There are also many restaurants to choose from nearby. The location was excellent for us! It’s near the center square, Saint Agatha Basilca, shopping, etc. We could go out at 10:30 at night and still get gelato steps from the door. Thank you Massimo for being such a wonderful host. We really appreciated you setting up the car ride for us to and from the airport. We miss Sicily already and hope to be back some day!!!

We stayed two weeks at Massimo’s flat. There were three of us and plenty of room. Kitchen was well stocked. Pick up and drop off service to the airport was appreciated. 20 min walk to the train station. Central to many sights and restaurants and services. Very good.

Siamo stati con 4 persone a Cattania in questo appartamento molto spazioso dal 9. al 15 di Aprile. Ci siamo sentiti molto commodi. Dopo la prima presentazione del luogo dalla figlia di Massimo, abbiamo passato una settimana senza problemi. C'era tutto molto commodo: Il mercato accanto, il centro a due passi e anche i ristoranti a buon prezzo nel centro. Il stazionamento della macchina (SUV) era possibile senza problemi. Insomma abbiamo passato una settimana favolosa. Era una ottima decisione di prendere quest' appartamento. M.Müller

Massimo was a wonderful host for my week long stay in Catania. picking me up at the airport, even after, at the last minute, my arrival was delay by a day. The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment was all that it was forecasted to be. It was very spacious & clean & centrally located in Catania. The well appointed apartment had everything one would want during their stay & an abundance of very good local restaurants to dine at. L’appartement de Massimo jouit d’une situation parfaite, en plein cœur du centre historique, à 200 m de la cathédrale, tout près du marché aux poissons et du marché aux fruits et légumes. Qui plus est, au numéro 18, auprès de Giovanni, on peut se procurer une huile d’olive familiale absolument extraordinaire. Massimo nous accueille dans sa maison familiale et nous en explique avec beaucoup de plaisir son histoire. Un appartement très grand, deux chambres, deux salles de bains, une salle de séjour immense, des couloirs un peu dédaliques, du charme donc avec beaucoup de calme. Pour ceux qui comme nous ont un véhicule, on se gare sans difficulté dans la rue elle-même, au pied de l’appartement. Petit bémol cependant, pour nous qui y sommes restés 7 nuits et donc avec quelques valises...., il a fallu dans ce grand appartement se faire un peu de place dans les armoires et les tiroirs remplis des affaires familiales. The internet is the best we have had at a rental apartment. Massimo offered to pick us up from the airport but we had our own car which we parked on the street outside. Although the apartment is central and close to the market, it is very quiet which was great. It is a minute's walk from Sicily's famous fish market which I visited every morning for fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, cheese, ham and other wonderful delights. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and for us it was perfect. We were a family of four and the apartment was ample for us. It's huge. I highly recommend La Casa di Ambra and I am sure you will have a good holiday if you stay here.

Catania - CASA AMBRA Casa Ambra è una casa molto spaziosa, pulita, colorata, arredata e decorata con stile. Massimo, il proprietario, ci ha accolte calorosamente, offrendoci un passaggio navetta dall'aeroporto e per l'aeroporto il giorno della nostra partenza. A casa ci ha pure fatto trovare un po' di viveri per la colazione . La casa è posizionata a 3 minuti da piazza Duomo e a 1 minuto dalla pescheria. E' stato un bellissimo soggiorno, grazie!

Massimo was very helpful in many ways during our holiday just from the beginning, taking us from the airport to his home. We enjoyed staying in his lovely house, that contained all the commodities we needed, and more. Perfect for a family trip, because of the two bedrooms and toilets. Thanks Massimo and all the helpful people you helped to get a contact with!

Overall, we were very pleased with the property. Firstly, the owner Massimo was very kind and accomodating. We needed some special help and he was generous to offer us his time. This was in addition to his pick-up/drop-off service. He was also quick to respond to our emails/texts. Secondly, the property itself is fantastic. It's a colorful and interesting old building with tiled floors and vaulted ceilings, and it has all the necessities included. We were just two, but there's enough space to include another couple or a few kids. The place is on the first floor and on a side street, making it quiet. Lastly, the location is pretty convenient. We did not need to get from the main station/airport; nonetheless, one could walk if needed and there are transport links nearby. There are outdoor food markets just around the corner and also a number of tourist sites which are easily walkable.

We were not disappointed. Massimo our host provided some nice additional touches. He met us on our arrival at the rail way station and provided a transfer to the apartment. Altough he was away when we left he arranged for a friend to do the same when we left. There was also some basic food and drink which was useful as we arrived on a Sunday. As it was summer and very hot the air conditioning was most welcome.

Our family of five were delighted with our stay in Massimo's apartment. The apartment was spacious, clean, well-situated to restaurants and historic attractions. The owner, Massimo was a wonderful host meeting us at the airport (and driving us to the airport for our return). He also stocked the kitchen with fresh fruit, water, eggs, biscuits, coffee, etc., as well as gave our children coloring books upon arrival. He answered all our questions with respect to train and bus travel to Siracusa, Etna and Taormina. He also offered a car service to these destinations. I highly recommend this apartment. You will be very happy!
