Home was nicely kept and had all the conveniences!
Lawn was not mowed however, and unfortunately during our stay landscapers came by and took care of it. A bit annoying to have all that noise when renters are at the property. Wish it had been done before we arrived or after we left.
Enjoyed our stay though and will definitely be back next year!

Wilson Pond Cabin was a beautiful retreat for 4 nights for our visit from Oregon to the Moosehead Lake area. Gorgeous setting, nice clean cabin overlooking the Wilson Pond. Peaceful setting

We loved our stay. The location was wonderful. A short distance to town. The views of the lake were dead on to the description and pictures shown. The house is a good place to stay and watch plus listen to the loons and observe the stars at night. Great place to escape from the hustle and bustle.

Location was excellent. Quick trip to Greenville. Secluded. Perfect for people w/dogs. Could use updated furniture and bed. Surfaces were clean. Needs deep cleaning. Comfortable lay-out.

This is our second time staying at this property and it's just so great. The kitchen is well equipped, living room is comfortable, and setting can't be beat. This cabin is a cabin....not a lot of frills, but just the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy life. We look forward to coming back in a couple of years.

We were looking for someplace somewhat private with a great view of the water and hoping for peace and quiet. I guess you could say, we got just what we were hoping for. We stayed a week and other than having to deal with some black flies at the time of our stay, it was very relaxing. The cottage is plenty big; loved the big table for puzzling. Rocker and couches were comfortable enough, although the couch is dated. The queen beds seemed a little small for both of us, so we were glad they offered two rooms. I found my mattress a little uncomfortable and bed/headboard squeaked but at this age, I have trouble sleeping anyplace it seems. There were enough chairs for outdoor seating, so it was nice not to have to bring any. There is a beautiful wood stove, although we never used it. We used the house heat which if turned on high, really heats things up, if you want to get the chill out. The windows offered great viewing, they worked and screens seemed in tacked. If you can vacation without a few comforts such as laundry; dishwasher; or a.c., then you should find this cottage offers enough. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Check the cabinets for toaster, etc. The ride from the main road to the cottage took us about 15 minutes, as we had to drive slowly to avoid many ruts. We would definitely return. Thank you for sharing your cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lower Wilson Pond cabin. We came to see the Northern Woods of Maine and hoped to see some moose and we did! We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the Loons on the pond. The cabin was great and gave us everything we needed. Our time here was peaceful and relaxing!

First experience using VRBO/Vacasa and had no issues. Rental property was secluded and quiet. Enjoyed the cool weather and fresh , clean air.

We loved our stay at Wilson pond. It was peaceful, quiet, and had everything we needed. We were even able to bake an apple crisp on our first night. A quick ride into town for shopping or a boat outing. The heater kept the house plenty warm. There were a few minor things that made me give it 4 stars instead of five. Cleaning chemical smell was so strong it burnt out throats and nose up on arriving so it would have been nice if it were aired out a bit ( bonus- it was clean!), sheet was left off the master bed so we had to remake it, some of the blankets were very old and needed updating, knives were dull to the point of being nearly unuseable. Despite these small things, I would happily stay here again.

This is a beautiful home very clean and tidy. Great location not to far from shopping, sightseeing, hiking, fishing and of course can canoe or kayak right from the dock. Very nice clean pond and great private beach area to swim. As well had a nice fire pit with the loons singing there evening songs. Very nice would definatley go back to stay at this place highly recommend!

Great location that is close to all the area has to offer. Cozy little cabin right on the lake. Even in this remote location, we still had good cell service. We had ample room for three kids and two adults, even on rainy days. Would definitely stay here again.

True relaxation
From the moment you turn into the road you are greeted with beautiful views. Follow the winding dirt road to the little slice of paradise. Lake was still frozen but the walking the shore was peaceful. Cannot wait to return when the weather is warmer!

Very thankful for the emergency generator!
We spent 3 nights at the Lower Wilson Pond cottage with our two dogs. It was a fantastic get-away, even though the weather didn’t want to cooperate. The house was well equipped and comfortable. We had a storm on our second day and the power kept going out. The generator came on automatically and we watched the pond start looking like the ocean as the wind was roaring. We were very comfortable in spite of the bad weather. We took a trip to Rockwood where we used to have a camp, and on the way home went to hike at Moxie falls and route 201 past The Forks. I loved the quiet location for walking the dogs and would definitely return again.

Perfect Spot for Us
We stayed two nights in mid-November, as we needed a base-camp for one day of trail work and one day of recreational mountain climbing. The close proximity to Greenville was perfect, and we liked the seclusion better than places we'd rented on Moosehead close to town. The setting was lovely, even though we didn't even walk to the shore. Sunrise and sunset were charming.
The cabin itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but just right. There are plenty of higher-end, greater-capacity rentals in the Moosehead region, but we didn't need that. More, we needed a bunkhouse. Hence the 4 stars, and not 5...this place is not a luxury rental, but it does what it does very well.
It heated quickly with the Rennai-like heater. There was a nice wood stove but we didn't use it. Don't recall seeing any firewood anyway. We used the gas grill, which we scrubbed because it had some rust on its grates. (Apologies for our omission, but we left in the morning without putting the canvas grill cover on!)
Some rental properties have sundries, some don't. This one had TP and PT, bars of soap, coffee filters, and some limited general spices, vegetable oil, etc. Towels and linens were great. Nothing in the fridge (like condiments, butter, etc). That's ok, but future renters please note. We left a bag of awesome coffee!

Late Fall is a great time to visit Greenville
A nice quiet spot on Lower Wilson Pond, as the high season was over. We found the cabin spotless and as advertised. The local manager was super helpful in response to the few questions that came up. A lovely spot, and though the dock was pulled up by late October, the water was still beautiful for a (quick) swim.

The cottage was so nice and peaceful. The house was very clean and comfortable and we had a great time. We really enjoyed the journals that were there that both guests and the owners wrote in whenever they came to stay

Love the loons
This is the first time we have ever gone to the same place twice, that says a lot. The lake is gorgeous, quiet (except the loons and the wind inthe trees). The cabin is clean and comfortable and they leave plenty of extras ( towels, blankets, spices etc). Wonderful rental.

Great location
First time at this cottage and it was one of the best we've stayed at for fishing Moosehead region. Spacious open floor plan, comfortable bedrooms, nice bath with a proper shower, warm, clean and a nice view of Wilson Pond. Better lighting in kitchen is our only suggestion.

Lakefront Cottage
We enjoyed our stay here. It's just rustic enough to feel like a true cottage and the lake provides a spectacular view from the main room of the home.
We had a problem with the toilet refill mechanism upon arrival which resulted in water pooling on the bathroom floor with each flush unless we manually held the tube down in the toilet tank with each flush. The property manager was prompt in responding and said they could have a plumber out the next day.
This was certainly a one-off situation which we were able to manage, and otherwise the property was perfect for us. We just wish we could have stayed longer :)

The kitchen was stocked with just about everything, pots, spices,coffee, baking tins, utensils etc. Cleaning supplies etc. There were number of games available. Even though it was mentioned that cellphone service would be spotty, we never had any issues with our phones. A few things to note....we had a little issue finding the property number as waze app says we have arrived , but it wasn't at the property 121 sanders rd but a neighboring property. The owner should put signage on one of the trees. There wasn't any DVD player or grill as mentioned in the listing.We would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Magical winter lakeside retreat!
We had a fabulous experience at Lower Wilson Pond Refuge! Although the summer driving directions were listed on the check in instructions the local property manager actually came to us, found where we were lost, and guided us to the property in no time at all. Holland was amazingly responsive through your stay. The cabin is perfect for a winter lakeside retreat. Even though the regional power went out due to high winds, the Woodstove more than kept us warm on a below zero temperature night and the gas stove still worked great, allowing us to cool by candlelight. The pond was remarkably quiet while we were there, and as a result we saw otters, mink and owls right out the picture window! Thanks so much for such a beautiful cozy space to escape from the world!

Remote getaway
WE loved the remoteness of this property, the sounds of quiet, the wind, the loons. We brought our kayaks and loved having the whole lake to ourselves. There is no cell or internet reception, which is fine, just good to know. The cottage is just as pictured and nicely appointed. We loved our stay here, if you are looking for some peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

Nice cabin
We had a lovely time at this cabin. Very well equipped - thank you! I have stayed at many with absolutely bare cabinets. It was clean, a very nice yard and lots of chairs, and all the kitchen equipment you could ever want!!!
Only one thing, with thunderstorms that weekend, the power threatened to go out, and there were NO candles or flashlights that worked. Please add some of those for future guests. Luckily the power did not go out.

Beautiful home, wonderful view
We've been coming to this home for two weeks every summer for over a decade. It is comfortable, has lovely decor, and the swimming off the dock (my specialty) is second to none. We hope to keep coming for another decade at least. The view from the dining room table is exquisite, and it's such a joy to see ducks and loons swim by. Another treat is sitting out on the deck in the comfortable chairs looking at the lake, listening to the wind in the trees, and hearing the mournful tremolo of the loons. We call it our paradise on earth.
